Comcast is by far the worst but all the rest are not far behind. I used to have a really good provider but after 2 takeovers it is now every bit as bad as the others. My contract is coming up for renewal and they want me to pay $50 more per month than what they charge new customers; 10 years of loyalty donβt count for jack. I am done with them.
If we are still talking about the exhibition game or games, unlikely that KU gets an unfavorable whistle; at least not if the refs want to work KU games at AFH again.
I was under the impression that there was a waiting period, maybe 4 or 5 years but I could be wrong.
If our bigs get fouled up by Pitt State players then KU has no chance of winning its 14th title and should not be ranked in the top 5. KU has way too much firepower and experience on the backcourt; it will be a 20+ point win, even with end of benchers playing.
Sherron was consensus second team All American in his junior year and consensus first team All American in his senior year, the later qualifies him to have his jersey in the rafters. A little research would have cleared it up for you.
You are out of luck. The game will be on the Jayhawk Network β. It will also be on ESPN3 but blacked out in Kansas but if you can make think you are outside Kansas via VPN you might be able to get it, provided your provider carries ESPN3. You can thank $#*&@ Zenger for this mess.
He always struck me as very nice and mellow person off the court. Seems like he has trouble dealing with expectations. I hope he gets back on track and moves forward in life.
Interesting. Ferris State made the same number of shots from the field and from the 3 in fewer tries. The difference was in the FTs.
Remember newly Hall of Fame inductee and former General Manager John Schuerholz went from the Royaks to the Braves back in the late 80s early 90s. They figured they would try it again with Moore.
You beat me about the Ar-Kansas river...
Yes, he did not shoot much but when he did he shot well. :smirk:
Lightfoot had the best 3 point shooting percentage last season.
Sacramento had a 17 point lead at he beginning of the second half and then Boogie went to work and almost single-handedly crushed the Kings. They certainly could have used Mason's toughness.
Sacramento is one crappy franchise right up there with Phoenix. Too bad both KU players drafted ended up there.
The knock on Preston has always been that he was lackadaisical and many attributed it to the lack of competition at the HS level. He is now playing in the big pond and if he doesn't get his rear end in gear he will find himself riding the pine. He turned 20 yesterday so he is not young kid and only a few months younger than Svi who turned 20 in June.
Figures...the one class where the tutor did not do the assignment...
I moved from Consolidated/SW Bell to Everest which had great local based customer service and great rates and provided Internet, cable and phone. Then SureWest took over and the service went down and prices up. When Consolidated took over I dropped the phone and moved to VOIP since the prices took a huge increase. Tthe service center is now based in Illinois and customer Service absolutely sucks; it takes about 5-7 days to get a service call.
At this time, I am considering cutting cable all together and going with Sling or Hulu over the internet, about half the cost for the same product. Several friends have done it and seemed pretty pleased.
I believe Wiggins is just over $7.5M and just ahead of Arthur and Aldrich.
How happy are you with Comcast? I used to have it a long time ago when it was the only cable provider in my neighborhood and customer support was by far the worst of any utility I have ever had; not even close. I am on Consolidated now but the cost keeps going up and they have great deals...if you are a new customer and they refuse to extend the rate to existing customers, even when there is zero up front expenses. Cable TV is the only business I can think that gives better rates to new customers and keeps increasing the cost for long term customers, even when new customers will need new installation that probably costs hundreds of $.
Pretty fed up with all cable providers, I am considering cutting the cord and going with a service like Hulu or Sling.
Metro Sports is the Time Warner/Spectrum sports channel that carries blacked out KU games. In the KC Metro area the only other provider that carries Metro sports is Comcast.
If we are talking about this season, Markieff at $8M is probably the highest paid followed by Wiggins, Aldrich and Arthur who are all at around $7.5M. If you look at future pay, Wiggins and Embiid are pretty much at the top with multi year contracts maxed out at around $148M. BTW, Gooden did not play last season and is for all practical purposes retired, much like Hinrich.
Archie Miller is perhaps the best coach of the younger group and Indiana still carries a huge clout in the upper Mid West. The idea of being part of the group that brings one of the more storied programs back to its glory days can be very attractive to players. Indiana used to be true basketball royalties until it fell on hard times but looks like it is getting ready to move up again. Stevens and Miller are the two coaches I would have liked to be considered to follow Coach Self but it seems unlikely now, particularly if Miller does well at Indiana.
Agreed. Defense has always been Coach Selfβs trademark and the last couple of years it has not been nearly as good as what, I am sure, he expects. Now that he has a rim protector I will guess he will ratchet up the defense and Garrett will be a big part of it.
Garret is starting to look more and more like the player to watch. He might well end up being the steal of the class.
I understand the MU game is a small sample but in that game Doke had only 2 fouls in 27 minutes while Preston had 5 in just 15. It looks like Doke has come a long ways foul-wise while Preston has a long way to go.
As coach Self has said, Garret can play 1-4 as needed. He will play several of those positions depending on the opponent and foul situation. I believe he guarded Porter and did a nice job. Nice to have a versatile player you can plug in almost anywhere.
I seriously doubt he would do that since fouls usually result in points or possession for the other team. Doke had only 2 in almost twice as many minutes.
Good points. Preston had 5 fouls in 15 minutes against MU while Doke had 2 in 27 minutes; what a difference one year makes. Until Billy learns to play without fouling I see Lightfoot catching a fair number of minutes.
You might want to Photoshop the logo...
Only commit from Texas bailed out following the TCU debacle.
It always comes down to being at the right place at the right time. Lightfoot might be a solid 15-20 minute per game contributor in his last two years; he seems to have a nose for rebounds which might come handy this season as well.
Seems to me that Wiggins is the one laughing; his shot went in, it counted and the Wolves won the game. Poor @elpoyo...that must have hurt.
I agree with you 100%. Not only a smart and reliable player but a class individual off the court as well. Currently playing pro-ball in Japan.
Bol Bol seems to be a West Coast type of person, and unlike his father, definitely not Mid West
Sadly my memory is slowly going away and with both parents having suffered from dementia I see that in my future as well.
We all were high on Bragg and Alexander and both were misses, Bragg more so. I am still high on Lightfoot, the book has not closed on him yet; he might well end up having a Lucas like career at KU, not a bad thing.
Sorry you did not get my friendly ribbing. I guess you should know all about Coach Self's back since that seems to be your favorite target.
I think I liked you better when you were the nicer, kinder HEM. I guess its is back to normal now
They are missing two starters, Smith and Kieff but he is making the best of the situation and will be in the conversation.
...or he could be the next Karviar Shepherd; I seem to recall you being pretty bullish on him.
Oubre is starting for the Wizzards now.
KUβs class is currently ranked #2 according to Rivals with a fair amount of recruiting yet to go. When it is all said and done, even if KU does not get anyone else, it will likely still be top 5. I would like to see a more inclusive class ranking that includes all incoming players including transfers; KU would have 1 additional 5-star in Dedrick and 2 4-star in Lawson and Moore and would probably be ranked #1.
A lot less hand wringing than last year, no question about it.
I bet the part where they showed him the untraceable pile of small denominations bills was the highlight of the visit.
I wonder if the FBI investigation is having an effect. Maybe players are anticipating that once the scope is known some top players might de-commit and top programs will go after them instead.
Following on the fowl theme...

Pos is the best; I sure miss his writing.
Wiggins saw him hanging around AFH and said ...what is a chicken doing here?...and forever destroyed the image he had of himself...

He plays for Duke; obvious East Coast bias.
On that I believe we all agree...
Here are photos at the KU site... β
Will this work ?...or you can use this link β

He had a very quiet first year so not necessarily unexpected. I believe that at this time it is just the pre-season "watch" list which gets tweaked as the season progresses. No doubt he will be a candidate as the season progresses.
Unless they change the way money is allocated, it would not benefit KU. Coach Self has indicated that KU makes considerably more money playing at AFH than at the Sprint Center and as you know, money talks.
