I think KU fans are outnumbering Arkansas fans at least 5 to 1 from what I've seen around town at my hotel, the parade today, and the Suns/Grizzlies game tonight.

Too bad there aren't any KU players on either roster and Devin Booker is out injured. But I looking forward to seeing Ja Morant in person for the first time.

I always see or quite a bit anyways of Morant - -man can that guy flat ball. - -I feel baad but I don't even know where he played College ball, one heck of a player though

This team has a tremendous amount of momentum going into conference. Since that loss, we have won every game by an average margin of 24.4 ppg. I think we're built to win. The floor in conference is 14-4.

@Woodrow Wait, what? She realized he’s her meal ticket and backed down. Shocker. It’s a no win for her. Not married so no alimony and I don’t know if she works or what she does, but I doubt it’s as lucrative a gig as her man. So she’s getting paid for the abuse and it’s ok (in Beard’s mind) because she keeps coming back.

Her choices are to support herself. - surprising how many can not or are unwilling to do this.
Or just put up with the abuse. - even more surprising how many are willing to do just this.

Crazy when the better road has a hard beginning how many will chose the easy path.

There's no alimony in Texas. I'm sure she is receiving a nice amount to say all the things necessary to let the abuser off the hook.

Stats are misleading. Heck... we should be starting Jank!

For the most part, Joe isn't passing the eye test. I'm not saying he shouldn't look for his shot... he should. Sometimes his stuff looks forced and it sticks out more when the rest of his team is playing like they are.

BTW: I'm a Joe fan!

I don't understand why they don't clear out a lane to the basket, and let him drive, drive drive. The dude is lightning quick.

Well I don't know who to believe anymore on this storm. - -Channel 13 - -or WIBW here in Topeka , the Weather guys just came on like 10 minutes ago and updated and the computer models are backing off the amount of snow some now- - now calling in general for anywhere from 1 -3 inches of snow in general for North Eastern Kansas.

If that turns out to be the case - -they MIGHT go ahead and try to play.

Yet right after I heard them say that , I turned to the National weather channel and they are still have us in a shade of blue on their map where will or they still predict we will get 3 -6 inches so who the hell knows?

Do we beleive local weather forcasters - -OR National ?

Down here in Houston, they are wrong every time. Yesterday was supposed to be from 4 to 10 inches of rain- i'll bet we didn't get an inch. I think they fib in order to get more viewership all the time.

It’s honestly astounding that Gradey and McCullar have both been able to play that way so far. So true.

People are forgetting that MJ has been hurt and missed a good chunk of practice. A little like Remy did last year. It's going to take some time before he gets it figured out. It wouldn't surprise me to see him have a break out game soon.

Definition of teamwork:

2022-23 stats-PER, Kenpom etc • Dec 19, 2022 04:34 PM

I know it's early, but I like this team way more than last years team at the same time. Tyler Hansborough called us out as the hottest team in the nation right now, and I agree. The team speed and quickness, the passing, the smart basketball decisions make this a formidable foe. Also, we replaced one clutch scorer ( Remy ) with another clutch scorer ( Dick ). And if Zuby can continue to make strides, along with KJ's breakout, I think we're set at the 5.

To be fair, we tore the goalposts down for becoming bowl eligible, so do we have room to talk about their tour? I love our KU pride in basketball, but I cannot get any pleasure deriding KSU's superiority in football. If we had beaten them...well, that is a different story!

I will cheer for KSU today, but I would cheer anyone, even Fizzou, playing Alabama. I hate them even more than I hated Ohio St under Woody "Whack-a-Player" Hayes. It is an enmity with no real source, too!

I should go back and post what they said about the goal posts- you might have a different attitude about them...lol. Their fav line is KU= lil bro. When you mention basketball, they suddenly don't care, and all of life revolves around football. All in good fun, though.

@BShark

Is right here. Self doesn't trust the bench beyond Bobby right now. Joe, sometimes out of necessity. Zuby flashed big time and earns more chances with how he played. Beyond that it's up to the players to play better in practice. Self usually has a good tune on who deserves to play.

I will say not playing Rice or Udeh when the game was well in hand was concerning.

Udeh is lost right now. Almost the 6'10'' version of Cuffe. I do think he can eventually be really good but we knew he would be a project. We will have to play a back-up big in most games (Missouri was a fairly special case).

Zuby was great. Not sure if it was a one off due to match ups or the start of something where he gets rotation minutes, but his athleticism is just off the charts.

@drgnslayr said in KU vs. The Indiana Hoosiers Saturday 11AM This is a BIG GAME!!!:

@Texas-Hawk-10

No way I would consider myself capable to coach a successful D1 team. There must be reasons for it all, including why MJ isn't playing enough.

Perhaps Self is creating a situation where MJ wants PT more and more. Maybe it's a motivational reason.

Or... thinking back to Self's history... maybe MJ isn't proving to him he has enough defense prowess to earn more PT minutes.

BTW: It is refreshing to see our defense taking shape! Kevin sure brings a lot to our defense, Juan is amazing... and now we are seeing some moments with Gradey... oh... almost forgot (how could I) KJ and JWil.

I just looked over the stat sheet and noticed Gradey had 5 steals!

Regardless of who plays our 5, if we can post trap effectively (like we did today), we should continue to shine on D! I can think of some National Championship teams that did it without a real 5... Villanova comes to mind first!

I really like this team this year at this time of the season better than last year's team at this time. If that made any sense...lol. It's just 5 unselfish guys giving everything they can on every play. I was amazed with 2 minutes left, with a 20 point lead, we have two guys on the floor fighting for the ball. The culture shows on the court. These are a tight group of guys.

Maybe the hesitation with MJ is perhaps he hasn't fully bought in to the whole thing yet. How is a guy that debated G-League vs. KU holding up getting scrub minutes?

Wow, that was a helluva balanced performance by the Jayhawks today. Very impressive.

Juan with the show boat assist! Making me eat my words. nice.

One complaint (sorry): Cmon, Bill. Play the bench more. We're gonna need some of these guys at some point. I know 7 guys got 10+ minutes, but we need to season some of these players. We had plenty of margin to give them some run.

We needed to build the lead up as much as possible, and beat them as badly as we could. Our next 3 games should give us ample opportunity to expand our bench.

That lead was built up as it was over 15 most of the game. There wasn't a great reason to not give Rice some extended minutes today against a quality opponent, especially with Jalen struggling like he did today. And I'm going to disagree about the next three games being ample opportunity to play the bench more because there's only 1 more non-confernce game left before B12 play starts and OSU might be the worst team in the league, but how often do we see KU truly blow out and dominate B12 teams? Not as frequently as we'd like because of the familiarity these teams and coaches have with one another. And that 3rd game is a road game against a Texas Tech team that doesn't have a bad loss this year and is probably going to be in the NCAA Tournament. So I don't see KU getting to expand the bench much over the next 3 games, maybe Harvard, but I'm betting on it happening with OSU or Tech though.

That's my bad on the next 3. I thought we had 3 more non-con games. I agree that we don't want to play musical chairs in conference games.
