Bill DROPS The F BOMB • Jan 17, 2022 03:15 AM

Saw this.....

"For what it's worth, Remy Martin's dad Sam texted me this tonight. He's seen some of what's been said/rumored.

"I can tell you 100% that remy has NO problem with coach Self or any other coach/player within the KU program. Remy loves Kansas basketball."

Here's a good one. Memphis blows a 10 point lead with 2 minutes left:

Memphis led East Carolina 70-60 with just over two minutes remaining and appeared destined for a bounce-back victory after losing at UCF on Wednesday. Then, the Tigers collapsed in truly catastrophic fashion as ECU finished the game on a 12-1 run capped by a game-winner at the buzzer from Brandon Suggs. The Tigers (9-7, 3-3 AAC) began the season ranked No. 12 and briefly rose to No. 9 following a 5-0 start. Since then, it's been one reality check after the other for coach Penny Hardaway and a program that has nothing to show for landing the nation's No. 1 recruiting classes in both 2019 and 2021.

Building an at-large NCAA Tournament resume won't be easy for Memphis at this point since the AAC offers few chances to pick up quality wins. Reaching 20 wins for a fifth straight season seems like a more reasonable goal for Memphis than reaching the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2014.

Bill DROPS The F BOMB • Jan 16, 2022 02:54 AM

@BShark I've heard that theory. The other theory I've heard is Bill was mad because he was being falsely accused of something that wasn't true. Of course, only they know the truth.

Non-KU Games • Jan 15, 2022 11:19 PM

I have an advantage- I don't listen to Mike Vernon...lol.

Bill DROPS The F BOMB • Jan 15, 2022 11:13 PM

@Marco Like you said...we live in America.

Bill DROPS The F BOMB • Jan 15, 2022 10:56 PM

LOL. I think Bill is taking exception to the wild Remy rumors . In his postgame interview, he let the fur fly. He basically said he knows more than we do about Remy's injury, and he dismissed the "Remy is leaving" meme as "Fing sh**". LMAO. I think we can safely put to bed the "Remy is leaving" talk.

Post WV game thoughts • Jan 15, 2022 10:51 PM

@Marco Why? Are you serious?

Post WV game thoughts • Jan 15, 2022 10:21 PM

Disagree with "better w/o Remy". The offensive firepower he brings to the table makes it much easier for everyone else. This is what I saw:

  • Big Dave is back. The dude has been hurt because today's performance was flat amazing . Today's Dave was not the same Dave we've been watching all year. He was all over the court, fighting tooth and nail for rebounds, making shots...just a great performance.
  • Ochai continues to put on a show, with today's performance being one of his best. Loved the way he faked the WVU defender out of his shorts, gathered himself, and swished it. Haven't seen that element in his game before.
  • Loved the way Braun contributed when the shot wasn't falling. 5 blocks today.
  • Yes, we need more Yes. Play this kid enough to let him get comfortable. We were having trouble getting the ball over halfcourt until he came in, and he just smoked their pressure.
  • Jalen was magnificent today. He looked like Jalen today.
  • I thought the team defense was excellent, much better activity, much more aggressive. We looked like a Top 10 team today. Best game of the year so far, imo.
WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 08:57 PM

@DCHawker I don't think we've ever had a game with WVU where they weren't ahead of us( other than today). Then they fold like a house of cards. It's weird- we always kick their ass in the 2nd half everytime we play them.

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 08:54 PM

@BShark He easily broke their pressure defense.

Bob Dole • Jan 15, 2022 08:52 PM

@wissox My step father was from Russell, and knew Senator Dole. When his father was getting the runaround with the V.A., step dad called Senator Dole, and the problem was solved immediately. Dole was a man that carried himself with wisdom and dignity, and represented Kansas tremendously for many years.

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 07:57 PM

@nwhawkfan That was actually Rick Pitino. He kept pressing us, and Roy kept breaking their press.

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 07:44 PM

@DCHawker Did you mean Kendiana?

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 07:37 PM

@Marco LMAO...

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 07:37 PM

BRAUN!

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 07:36 PM

I think Braun and Och have been pressing- not letting the game come to them. That was a very nice 3 by OCH, though, so maybe he's settling down.

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 07:25 PM

@DanR I'm really rooting for him...I wanted that shot to go in.

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 07:20 PM

@wissox I think we are trying much harder. It's not showing up on the scoreboard yet, but our guys are flying all over the court...

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 07:17 PM

Hey...this looks KU. We look scrappy and tough, and we look like we are sick and tired of getting sand kicked in our faces..

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 07:16 PM

We HAVE to play YES ...

@DCHawker Kendiana looks good today. Anytime you hit 15 out of 20 shots, you'll look good.

Jayhawks in the pros • Jan 14, 2022 11:18 AM

@wissox I played BMAC and Devonte in my Draft Kings lineups last night. Didn't win but they both exceeded expectations last night. I went with Devonte because he had a poor game his last game, and I knew he would right the ship, and he did.

Brucie on a very hot hot seat. • Jan 14, 2022 12:45 AM

@jayballer67 Well, then a "Save the Liberace" campaign might be in order.

Bill Self "growth stunter" • Jan 13, 2022 11:23 PM

@drgnslayr said in Bill Self "growth stunter":

I really like this team! Maybe someone needs to spike the water jug with testosterone (joke). Anything to bring out some alpha in all our guys.

Winner, winner chicken dinner. The group consisting of Och, Braun, Dave, and Jalen need to show us something. I need to see some badass.

The reality of this team is • Jan 12, 2022 09:21 PM

Sucking right now might be a blessing in disguise. The old adage" if it ain't broke, don't fix it" comes to mind. So, it's broke, so let's fix it. It makes everyone work harder, it makes Coach Self try new things, new lineups, etc. He buried himself by standing pat on the 5 spot- let's see if he can unbury himself.

ISU Game Thread • Jan 12, 2022 12:45 PM

I'm happy we won. I thought we looked like last year w/o Remy. Glad to see KJ get some minutes. It's nice to know we can play some defense when we have to.

ISU Game Thread • Jan 12, 2022 03:06 AM

@BShark I wonder if Roy was tempted to call a play or two for us after watching that offensive display tonight.

ISU Game Thread • Jan 12, 2022 02:58 AM

True story- I met my first Clone fan recently. Dude is a general contractor, and is remodeling our offices at work. He wore a Clones t-shirt one day, so we got to talking. Turns out he's a Clones freak...lol. Of course he had to gig me about losing to T Tech. I'm going to light him up like a xmas tree tomorrow.

Pardons for being off-topic, but Cal McNair is a bum. A very wealthy bum, but a bum nonetheless.

Non-KU Games • Jan 09, 2022 02:47 PM

The biggest day of upsets of the season yesterday. 6 Top 25 teams went down.

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 09:49 PM

They're 1 for 8 from 3. We need to pack the paint, and make them shoot jump shots.

Non-KU Games • Jan 08, 2022 06:07 PM

Interesting line for the Clone-OU game. OU is favored at home by 6 points. I guess Vegas hasn't read the Clone's press clippings...

Bill Self "growth stunter" • Jan 07, 2022 12:43 AM

I would like to think that Remy has another gear, and he's been pulling the Tyshawn Taylor senior year trick. I think there is another level to his game that could truly change our fortunes. Hopefully him and Bill can mindmeld and unlock his talents. Remy going off will really help Braun and Och, and open things up. As much as I want OCH and Braun to be alphas, the real alpha is Remy. I bet he's the guy that's going to take the last shot.

I also think Big Dave will now be known as Good Dave the rest of the season. The benching helped, and we saw some really nice work the other night. He made some nice shots, and actually rebounded the ball for once. I know- he also had some sucky moments, but Good Dave has finally reappeared.

JW is literally killing us on offense. He can't possibly continue his level of suckness - it's mathematically impossible. Well, maybe it is possible, but I'm still going with the "impossible" line to push my narrative: 2 for 23 from 3. He will get better, or Coach will make him stop shooting 3s. Either way, we suddenly get better. He is our best rebounder, and it's not close.

Rat Nibbles... • Jan 06, 2022 11:29 AM

@mayjay He's a habitual offender:

Rat Nibbles... • Jan 05, 2022 10:02 PM

Well, the Rat is back trying to gnaw on opponent's legs again. I guess he takes the title of US Coach from the Olympics to mean he is the only coach in America, which allows him to impart his rat wisdom onto the players his team faces. Here Mr. Thin Skin takes exception to a Georgia Tech player that threw him some shade:
