@mayjay I think it's really stupid to excuse bad officiating because Kansas is playing poorly. Reaching fouls are reaching fouls and moving screens are moving screens.
Obvious foul. Why can't you call reaching fouls? Wow.
Are the officials playing a game where they see how long they can go without someone calling a reaching foul on Tech?
Tech has gotten away with 2 obvious moving screens already. I thought that was a point of emphasis this season.
KU's got to be tougher fighting through screens and on the boards.
Gray averages 5.6 ppg and shoots 12.5% from 3. He already has two 3's and 8 points.
@HighEliteMajor He blows Wilt away.
This is a pretty big game. Since #5 and #10 lost I expect KU (and OU) to jump into the top 10. And I expect Tech to be in the teens after blowing out Baylor.
Overall I expect the Big12 to have 3 teams in the top 10 and 5 teams in the top 25 tomorrow. Pretty far from a down conference I'd say.
Down goes #10.
Down goes #1.
5 looking like they'll lose.
3 with a decent chance to lose tonight.
4, 6, 9, and 13 with close wins.
And none of this really matters much because it's basketball, not football.
Ya really bad last possession for TCU. Nice road win for Oklahoma.
@HighEliteMajor "Don't agree with his anti-NCAA stuff"
Can you elaborate on that?
Rock Chalk in Austin. Stay mad, Shaka.
The thing is Baylor's teams could have been a lot better with the talent and length that they've had, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Hopefully the next coach doesn't ignore that side of the ball.
He's a homeless man's John Calipari.
Nah man it breaks my heart to see Drew and the Bears go down.
Shaka Smart in the locker room at halftime:
"Guess what?
I have a fever, and the only prescription is Mo' Bamba.
I'M GOING TO NEED AT LEAST... 30 PERCENT MO' BAMBA!!"
Guy's ridiculous.
In a lot of ways, the season starts today.
Let's go Jayhawks!
@wrwlumpy "I re-watched the Kentucky game and Vitale said"
Consider the source.
I'm still most concerned with WVU. Huggins, Jevon Carter, and they don't lost many games at home.
He's Grimey.
ESPN has really gone downhill.
Dedric Lawson has an assist.
Maybe 3 fouls? Not sure.
I like the defense tonight.
Grimes is filthy.
Frank Mason is definitely my second favorite Jayhawk.
Tied an NCAA record. There is some serious guard play in the Big 12 this season.
Final:
Trae Young - 22 assists
Northwestern St - 7 assists
Maybe. He doesn't usually do Kansas games; I think usually more Big10 stuff. But I will watch whatever college basketball game is on so sometimes I listen to him.
I still think Walton is the worst.
Kansas seems to play better defense when the 3's are going down.
I've disliked Dan Dakich for a while now because he's a Big10 homer. He's right about schools like Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, Carolina getting more calls against No-Name U, but he certainly seems to be fixating on that point tonight. Especially when I've only seen 2 or 3 missed calls the entire game. The foul call on Lightfoot's block was the worst call that's been made tonight.
Let's just put Lightfoot's jersey on DL and play him. Nobody will notice. No one say anything.
The talent is there for Kansas, but it seems like they lack grit. Grit that they had last season from Mason, Jackson, and Lucas. Especially Mason.
I ultimately think losing early like this will benefit Kansas later in the season. But man, between Bill Walton calling the game, Kansas losing back-to-back games to a former Syracuse assistant coach and an obnoxious former Duke player, and Kansas "fans" leaving AFH early today, it's hard to be positive right now.
Have to give ASU credit, they made a lot of tough shots. A lot of low-percentage shots. Some games they won't hit those, today they did.
Dick Vitale gets tired of good players being a little bit cocky, but he's okay with Trippy tripping and Consonants complaining. Okay, whatever.
DG's the man.
Nice finish by Duke, but Florida gave the game away. Texas gave the game away, too.
Thank God the game was stopped to add 3 tenths of a second.
Deja Vu
Between A&M, Florida, and Kentucky the SEC race could be pretty interesting this season. If Porter was healthy potentially Mizzou as well. As Kansas plays Kentucky and A&M this season I'm hoping one of those teams wins the SEC.
Florida is hanging tough. They aren't big like Texas, but they do have much better guards who can make shots. We'll see if that helps them down the stretch.
@JayHawkFanToo I was just thinking that. KU with the assist.
That was kind of my point. Duke has made eight 3's and only three of them have been from Allen.
But Florida is certainly giving it the old college try.
Duke started making 3's too (now 7-12). I don't know if any team can beat Duke when they are making their 3's.
Duke-Florida is looking the the Duke-Texas game early on. Hopefully Florida can finish.
I'll pass that message on to Roy for you.
North Carolina is playing like Bill Walton commentates.
Horrible late game execution. Missed dunks. Duke officiating. Texas can blame themselves for horrible shot selection in the last 5 minutes of regulation, though. Just terrible.
Coach K at the end of regulation is like "I wrote you that check for a win, not a tie."
Texas is missing dunks now.
Duke 12-21 at the line. Unfortunately for K and the devils, the officials cannot also shoot the free throws.
Well Barnes is coaching at Tennessee now.
Dunk was amazing.
Luke Maye reminds me of Nick Collison a bit.
