@wrwlumpy Thats so cool! KY is one of my favorite Jayhawks. Such a cool guy and his hair is awesome.
Mill Rats? For a second there, I thought it said Mall Rats. And I was thinking, Kevin Smith has a team?

@wissoxfan83 Nice!
@stupidmichael Pffffffft, no freeking way. I'll believe it when it happens.
@drgnslayr LoL Omg thats insane!
@Crimsonorblue22 Beast! I knew Frank was strong, but dang!
@jaybate-1.0 fascinating, I hope it comes to pass.
@jaybate-1.0 I think Coach Self will improve the least. Maybe. Or maybe it'll be baby Jay.
@Crimsonorblue22 I like Twinkies!
@HighEliteMajor What if Svi proves he has better handles than we think he does? Add that with a legit defense and three point threat.
@BeddieKU23 I like your thread post! Good to take our thoughts to something directly involved with who we have now. ( Tangent, I dont like that black little bar that says who likes your post that stays there when you click it, its annoying ) Ok back to topic.
I think SVI is going to be our most improved guy. He was overwhelmed last season. Couldnt fight over screens, couldnt knock down the trey with his supposed dead eye accuracy in game, etc.
I think that the extra training this year will help him immensely. He is going to be stronger, faster, more experienced. He will improve his game all around and be a big factor for us next season.
If he can defend better than Brannen, which I think he can, he will average double figure minutes for us and potentially be a double figure scorer too.
This came from ESPN. We all pretty much knew this but its good to get reinforcement about Diallo.
Diallo now has scored back-to-back MVPs in the McDonald's All American Game and the Jordan Brand Classic, and that doesn't happen by accident. He is a coach's dream because he epitomizes hard work. Diallo's passion energizes his talent as he is in constant motion, with a 7-foot-4 wingspan to score baskets, grab rebounds, block shots and contest shots. He needs to improve his offensive game against a set defense, where he could learn how to post up and make one solid move, and he needs to polish up his free throw shooting. He scores from second-chance points, run-outs, drop-off passes and by screening and rolling to the rim. In the two most prestigious all-star games in the country, no plays were run for him and he walked away with major accolades. His game reminds me of a young Kenneth Faried.
After the game, he had an in-home visit with Kansas. On Saturday, he will meet with new St. John's head coach Chris Mullin as they will make their final presentation. He could possibly meet with Kentucky on Monday. His decision will be coming soon.
@drgnslayr That is nuts!!! Cool, but nuts.
@Lulufulu AND, Steph Curry is my favorite player in the league right now. Yeah, I know, he went to Davidson, almost upset KU in 08. But, the kid is a stud, seems like a genuine nice and down to earth person. And B.Rush is also on the Warriors. Granted, he doesnt play much.
@JayHawkFanToo Thats a good point. Wilt was better that Russell in many ways/ stats.
Here is my current NBA MVP problem. Curry vs Harden. I think Curry should get it. Best player on the best team, completely likable, super talented, nigh unstoppable on the court. Then there is Harden. Equally as unstoppable, but he can be a capitol A hole. Should Harden get MVP for taking his lowly team as far as he has?
I know, way off topic but something I am thinking about more often now that College ball is done.
@nuleafjhawk said:
@drgnslayr Could have pretty much done without all these pics!! lol (puke)
Especially freekin Justin Beiber. What a douche'
@drgnslayr LOL! OMG, I can't unsee that!!
Anyone happy as I am to see Paul Pierce and Drew Gooden still kickin butt for the Wizards? The Truth has still got "IT" and Drew was a Vacuum on the glass.
@drgnslayr "Ball dont lie"
@JayHawkFanToo I would be ecstatic if that happened! I had no idea that was going on.
@Crimsonorblue22 Ohhhh yah, there is zero animosity between those two teams. Kinda like how KU and MU were such great pals.
@JayHawkFanToo I LOLed so freekin hard with the news of KSuck losing players! I couldnt care less about MU. Even if they did beg to come back to the Big 12 and we let them, they would be a door mat.
@HighEliteMajor For my nerves, and for the rest of you all too, I hope it does end soon, and in a good way. Dunno if I had this much anxiety for a recruit to pick even with waiting for Wigs to pick
@Crimsonorblue22 I think that was the point. Diallo can't play for us in the WUG's so he might be less likely to sign with KU.
@jaybate-1.0 .500? Naaah. But yeah if he does strike out, things will be grim indeed.
@SoftballDad2011 Wait a minute, UK lost 7 to the NBA but they signed 3 five star recruits.... so far. How is that not getting anyone?
@jaybate-1.0 Im not certain that the duo speaking french would be pull for Diallo to UK over KU. Granted, its got to hold some kindred spirit type feelings if the two are friends but the big picture is Diallo would have a lot more opportunity at KU to showcase his talents. UK lost 7 guys and they are still at 5+ Nike stacks.
KU has zero next level talent at the 5
KU has minimal next level talent at the 4.
KU needs Diallo, Diallo needs KU.
@drgnslayr But we can't be done getting bigs this season. I mean, its best case scenario getting Diallo at this point cuz we missed on everyone else.
@HighEliteMajor Yeah, Diallo is a stud. I watched him play for the world team last week and thought he made his team better on both ends. Consider me impressed. We need this guy.
@wrwlumpy Gotta get Diallo.
@jaybate-1.0 Im not so sure all of it is fiction. Satyrical? Yes.
@truehawk93 Yes, me too. Sooner than later. I keep checking the boards a few times a day to see if I missed anything. Hurry up and commit guys!! Your killing me smalls!
@ralster Ah man!! I would have liked to been there for that. Picking Coach's brain, hearing him loosen up and speak like that. Way cool. KU is gonna have some T-bone steaks for dinner two times next season! Oh yah!!
@ralster That is freeking hilarious! There has to be an audio of that somewhere. I would have paid to hear that live!
@jaybate-1.0 I think we can add Kentucky to the list Duke is on by themselves. Major major bias there.
@ralster Any dish on the rash of injuries this season and how to prevent them going further?
@HighEliteMajor Hmmmm. Interesting. No, I dont buy into the concussion thing either. If the med team cleared him for play, he would have been fine. You might be right though, his shooting might not have been affected as precipitously as it was just by his hip issue. Tyrel's was.
To answer your question, No, we absolutely need Diallo and or Thorne to shore up our front court this coming season.
@dylans Nice! I have a small but supremely treasured collection
@drgnslayr Im going all in on Svi this season. I really think he is going to be a stud come November. He's gonna have his NBA body ready, all he needs is to gain some swagger and watch out.
Of course, Im no coach, Im just a spectator. Purely opinion only here.
@jaybate-1.0 Man! Dont say that! We can still get Diallo!
@jaybate-1.0 White Castle gives meaning to life.
@nuleafjhawk HA!! Suckers. Those Kensucky guys are suckers!
@jaybate-1.0 Interesting quote. Timely too, as this is the 150th anniv. of his death.
@KUSTEVE I kinda agree with you. I would like us to be competitive at the games and win some. That would be nice. Is it a must win situation for us? Im not sure. Would it affect recruiting in years to come if they bomb? I dunno. Will it help the team to have extra time to practice and build chemistry before the season starts? Absolutely.
@HighEliteMajor Man, I can sense your frustration here. I agree that KU fell quite a bit short of their potential this season. But, if Brannen is getting a surgical procedure done, why would he even agree to it unless he needed it? I mean we saw the same relative 3 point % drop off with Tyrel Reed when he had bone spurs in his foot. Its all basic mechanics right? I mean there is a bone spur anywhere, in any major area, hip, foot, knee, whatever, its going to affect performance due to the pain involved. Sure, Brannen probly made tons of threes in practice but thats not the same as game time, getting fouled on shots, hard fouls with no calls. Its different.
One last thing. Every one of our guys returning this year will be mostly upperclassmen now. They are going to be better when November rolls around again. I would bet on them breaking the 30 win mark and making it further into the tourney this time. Absolutely minimal chance they get bounced in the second game again for the third straight time.
@BeddieKU23 Ahhh! I totally want Kevin Young to come play for us!!!
@RockChalkinTexas Shaka!!!
@BeddieKU23 Yeah, very true. Those guys heal up very quick. Rush came back from his ACL after 6 months! Crazy.
Our current roster is Mason, Devonte, Selden, Perry, Bragg, Landen, Jamari, Mickelson plus the walk ons. Am I missing anyone? Those first 8 guys are good to be sure. But to win or place in the top 3 for the World Games, we are gonna need more help than that. Why wouldnt Coach Self do everything he can to bring in ex players? Is he trying to make this like an NBA combine or something?
@dylans Uhhh yeah. Kinda need your hips to jump into a 3 point shot right? lol
@ralster How are you able to get that close with the Coach? That is way cool. Excited about Bragg now too!
@ralster I agree. Svi is going to be a stud. Sux he cant contribute to the World Games for us.
