Just saw Kelly Knight passed away. He was only 59. Remember him sporting the knee braces as he chugged up and down the court. As a native of Kansas, Kelly was always a favorite of mine. RIP Kelly

Non-KU Games • Nov 20, 2021 03:16 PM

@jayballer67 too funny…my wife lived just north of Benton when she was a teenager. Went to Circle High for a couple years. I grew up on a farm just outside of Garden Plain, a small town just west of Wichita. Moved to the city when I started working for Cessna. I like where I’m at but man I kinda miss the quiet laid back life on the farm

Non-KU Games • Nov 20, 2021 02:42 PM

The Shockers came up a little short last night but gave Arizona all they wanted. Looks like WSU is going to be one of the teams on or close to the “bubble “ come tourney time. Kinda funny I live in Wichita but don’t hear the Shocker fans saying how they want a piece of KU like they did several years back!

David Magley from the corner…..swish!! I remember how he would hit that shot and then run back with both arms raised. One of my favorite teams was in’86 with Hunter, Kellogg, Thompson, Manning and Dreiling. Got to see that team beat Louisville with Never Nervous Pervis Ellison in AFH. Pretty sure both teams went to the FF that year with Louisville cutting down the nets

Tarleton Game Thread • Nov 14, 2021 07:15 PM

Wichita St. plays Tarleton on Tuesday. Could be interesting

Let's talk about Bill..... • Nov 14, 2021 06:37 PM

@kuballin10 respect your opinion but disagree 100%. Does Bill do everything perfect? No, but there’s not a coach out there I’d rather have. What other school has been as relevant every year the last 19? I’m good doing it Bills way

Michigan State Game Thread • Nov 10, 2021 12:21 AM

Dave the black hole

Early Michigan St thoughts • Nov 09, 2021 11:14 PM

@FarmerJayhawk self must think he can develop him into being a factor next year. You’re right tho, I never even thought about him being a redshirt candidate

Early Michigan St thoughts • Nov 08, 2021 11:58 PM

If we can limit turnovers, stay competitive on the glass and get some transition buckets i think we’ll be fine. Prediction: KU 79 MSU 67

Early Michigan St thoughts • Nov 08, 2021 11:52 PM

@SlickRockJayhawk pretty sure Vegas has KU by 4. Should be a battle nevertheless

First Impressions from last night • Nov 05, 2021 03:42 PM

@jayballer67 enjoyed your post. Hell yes, if we could have Mitch another 6 years I’d take him. Coaches love guys like Mitch. Great locker room guys, kids that play for team success instead of individual accolades. Plus the guy can come in and occasionally give the team a spark I’m with you jayballer, we have been lucky to have him

@Kcmatt7 Yesufu only started 7 games at Drake so I don’t know that he expected to come here and start immediately. Will be nice to have some firepower come in off the bench

2022 Recruiting Thread • Oct 21, 2021 12:37 PM

It’s hard to compare players because they all bring something different to the table but what do you all think about Udeh? Did we just get another T-Rob?

2022 Recruiting Thread • Oct 21, 2021 09:49 AM

Id say Bill meant it when he said we needed to get bigger, stronger, more athletic. Sure like these last two classes. Man I’m ready to tip it off!!!

2023 Recruiting • Oct 17, 2021 04:40 PM

@jayballer67 yeah, the big O was from Duncunville. I think Cole was from Minnesota

2022 Recruiting Thread • Oct 17, 2021 11:17 AM

@Marco I believe he is announcing Tuesday. I feel good about this one

Kansas starting 5 • Oct 15, 2021 09:54 AM

@Marco I say it’ll be Remy Och CB Jalen and Dave. Harris first off the bench. Pretty salty

2022 Recruiting Thread • Aug 11, 2021 10:03 AM

@Marco Perry Ellis wasn’t to shabby. I do think GD is going to be very good with a lot of upside

@justanotherfan I agree. I think he is betting on himself to do just that

@tis4tim good all-around dude with plenty of cash!!! Coming back for his senior year seems to be working out quite well for him. Maybe Och will have a similar fate?

Self Has Covid • Aug 01, 2021 07:11 PM

@Marco you haven’t said anything to offend me. Not sure what’s going on. I just replied to jayballers post. I certainly didn’t converse with any administrators

Self Has Covid • Aug 01, 2021 07:06 PM

@Marco huh? I think you misunderstood what I was saying. Thank you for your service for this great country

Self Has Covid • Aug 01, 2021 06:45 PM

@jayballer67 enjoyed your post! So thankful we have the right to be divided. God bless the USA

Self Has Covid • Jul 29, 2021 10:05 PM

@FarmerJayhawk great post! Solid information from referenced sources. No name calling or finger pointing. Refreshing. Thank you

Self Has Covid • Jul 29, 2021 08:13 PM

Behavior that contradicts what one claims to believe or feel. Example: It was hypocritical to demand respect from students without respecting them in return. Definition of hypocritical. Merriam-Webster

Self Has Covid • Jul 29, 2021 11:04 AM

@wissox we all have different things going on in our lives which help us form our own opinion. I’m not asking anyone to agree, but to accept that is the case. BTW…I have lost friends and family to this virus

The new way to early espn top 25 has KU at #2 behind Gonzaga. Bill tells Dickie V we’re gonna be real good!! Can’t wait to get this started!

Self Has Covid • Jul 26, 2021 09:39 PM

@mayjay I hear you and respect that!!!

Self Has Covid • Jul 26, 2021 09:11 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 you’re right and my apologies to mayjay. I just wish people would understand that circumstances are different for everyone and wish we could refrain from calling BS on someone’s opinion. Some of the world’s brightest minds have differences of opinion on this terrible virus I’m trying to respect everyone’s opinion and just asking for the same in return. Certainly no hard feelings!!

Self Has Covid • Jul 26, 2021 05:23 PM

@RockkChalkk agree 100%. I am also tired of the know it alls calling people they don’t even know dumb or stupid because they have a different opinion. Just sad

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Jul 03, 2021 03:56 PM

@Marco do you know something about Och that I don’t or do you have a hunch? Just curious because I’m somewhat confident Och returns

K.J. Adams • Jul 02, 2021 05:16 PM

@BShark yeah, seems like almost every year someone unexpected really meshes with the team and becomes an important piece. Would love to see KJ be that guy. Looking forward to seeing more play above the rim

@Crimsonorblue22 yeah. Great ambassador for KU

90% chance both return and the I’ll give the same odds that Remy is wearing Crimson and Blue next year as well!!

Remy to Kansas • May 22, 2021 12:29 AM

Great conversation. On a Friday nonetheless!

2021 Transfer Talk/List • May 18, 2021 03:10 PM

@jayballer67 yeah, big time get. All his experience will be so valuable to all the young guys. Watch and learn young fellas!! I agree with you about getting out and running, plus we now have multiple guys that can get to the paint and either finish themselves or kick out for an open 3. SPRING BILL!!!!

2021 Transfer Talk/List • May 11, 2021 05:35 PM

@jayballer67 Arizona St. Stud!!!

2021 Transfer Talk/List • May 11, 2021 03:03 PM

@mayjay Not ALL of us are down on the roster for next season. Will have to admit though that I’m a “Glass half full kind of guy!” LOL

2021 Transfer Talk/List • May 09, 2021 05:40 PM

Off ropic here but I just wanted to wish any and all Mothers here on buckets a Happy Mother’s Day!!!

2021 Recruiting • May 07, 2021 09:57 AM

@jayballer67 Yes, my entire post was sarcasm. I’m as passionate about KU basketball as anyone and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed when we miss out on certain guys. At the end of the day I have total faith in Self that he knows what kind of team he wants to put together and has proven time and time again he will get it done. Does it always work? No, but you don’t consistently win like he does without knowing what you’re doing. TRUST IN BILL

2021 Recruiting • May 06, 2021 10:57 PM

What in the hell is going on with all our troubles in recruiting? Has Self lost his touch? I mean, a top ten class this year is unacceptable, and it’s already May, so we all know nothing good will happen before next season. Why would we continue to recruit a kid Kentucky got involved with? Why in the world would we try to recruit against UK, Duke, Carolina, Villanova, Baylor, and a dozen other teams we’ve lost kids to? Self should run from such challenges and only recruit players we KNOW. We WILL sign. I don’t know, I just wish we could consistently field a team that wins and competes for championships. Sarcasm included.

2021 Transfer Talk/List • May 05, 2021 08:09 PM

I think they have until July something before they have to decide

New S&C Coach For Texas • May 05, 2021 08:06 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Good for Andrea. Wish her well

2022 Recruiting Thread • May 03, 2021 10:38 PM

@JAYHAWKFAN214 That’s a stat sheet stuffer!

Bobby Pettiford • Apr 25, 2021 01:54 PM

Indeed!!! He plays fearlessly. Also read somewhere that he’s a hard worker and super coachable. He could become a real DAWG!

2021 Recruiting • Apr 24, 2021 10:14 PM

@BShark yep. Coaching turnover affects almost everyone. Remember thinking how is anyone going to recruit with Izzo about 12-15 years ago

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 23, 2021 09:16 PM

@BShark yeah. One of the transfers that makes total sense. Guessing that his one year at KU will make him prepared to compete for playing time immediately

2022 Recruiting Thread • Apr 21, 2021 05:10 PM

Gradey Dick up to #18 on the ESPN rankings. Now a 5*

@Crimsonorblue22 yeah. As Bill would say “We can send out a flyer.”

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Apr 20, 2021 08:42 PM

@Kcmatt7 with just 2 years left he’s probably looking to land somewhere that’s not as crowded in the backcourt. Sure has some play making skills though
