My dad and brother were and still are HUGE KU fans and I grew up watching KU basketball. When I joined the Marine Corps watching KU hoops was the only thing that made me feel at home. I don't think I have crossed any boundary's or broken any rules and I don't plan on it.

I didn't get to watch the game so I didn't get to see how he looked but the box score tells me he did better than all of the other guards on the bench. Will Vick emerge as the 4th guard by seasons end? I obviously want Svi to be the 4th guard in the rotation but Vick's numbers looked really good. Could anyone shed some light on the subject for me on how he looked compared to maybe Graham or Masons first game?

This was Braggs face after Coach Self told him he missed 3 open lay ups! I don't know if he ever gets down on himself? During his interview after the game he was grinning from ear to ear last night!
I messaged everyone something similar this morning and I am always encouraging these fine young men to do great things. They are always classy and most of them respond in a timely manner.
I IM'ed Svi and said "When you finish school at KU every fan under the sun will remember who you are because you are going to do great things for the team! You have plenty of time to reflect before the next game so don't let missing 3 shots get you down. KU fans around the country are all still rooting for you including myself! Still a Huge fan!"
He responded "Thanks. I appreciate your support".
That's all I have for today for those of you that are curious. I know its cheesy but that is how I keep the lines of communication open. For the record I am still a huge Svi fan!
@SoftballDad2011 I have been pondering what I would like to ask them all morning? I don't want to badger them with 20 questions I usually keep it short and to the point so that they don't get annoyed with me. If you guys would help me come up with a few questions I could choose a couple to ask them this morning?
I think that we already know what we have with our back court and I think we are SOLID there. If it turns out that Bragg can contribute at the same level as last night we are going to be better than I thought! If Diallo gets cleared WATCH OUT!
Yesterday was just a tune up. I think there were a lot of things Coach Self can build on or correct and that's good but there isn't enough information to solidify who will earn big minutes or call out an 8 man rotation after 1 exhibition game. I am thinking the same thing every one else is thinking too BUT I wouldn't be surprised at all if something changes between now and MSU?

Bragg is the star so far. Crazy that he is doing so well. If him and Svi can get starting minutes we are in good shape? The question is, will HCBS give them the time?

Cheick Diallo is a month away from finishing his 2nd semester of college classes, but still isn't cleared by the NCAA for academic reasons.
@HighEliteMajor He said NBA scouts have been coming to their practices and that he had just read that he was projected as the #2 shooting guard but he didn't know what criteria they used to project him as the #2 shooting guard in the country? He said he appreciates my encouragement and support bud. He called me his bud lol. Classy guy though.
@HighEliteMajor I cant imagine that Vick or Greene are any better as far as turnovers go? But as other posters have pointed out I haven't sat through practices or sat in on team meetings or spoke with the coaching staff? So I really don't know anything?
I have heard that we will see a lot of Svi and that his shots are falling and that he worked on/ improved his handles more than anything this summer.
I have the honor of talking to one of the future PRO's on the team and he has no idea who's starting next to Ellis tomorrow? Coach Self must keep those type of things close to the hip when there is not a clear option to put next to Ellis so that he doesn't get double teamed? Someone's going to have to take some of the pressure off of Ellis? The question is WHO?
I dance around the Diallo question and NO ONE will even touch on the issue with the connections I have which happen to be solid connections!

I like how HCBS says its been handled and the NCAA just has to make a determination one way or the other and that he think it was handled the best way possible. He is making it sound like Diallo will be cleared soon.
If you remember HCBS said earlier this summer that they were preparing to play without him just in case but it sounds like HCBS is singing a new song?

I personally enjoy reading others opinions and like to engage others on this site. The facts are that this is a board where people can come and voice their opinion's. I see both sides of the argument and I agree with some of what everyone says. You guys can hash it out publically and look foolish to others on this site or take it to a chat window? Either way I am entertained!

My opinion is very similar to yours don't get me wrong BUT Coach Self will limit Braggs minutes because he has 3 seniors that have trusted him and stuck with KU. I might add that earlier this summer I asked about certain guys that always play each other during 5 on 5 and about this physical play and got a lot of the same info. The difference was that I actually got info on WHAT players get after each other every practice and it was Wayne/Svi, and Devonte/Frank. They act like brothers how they pick on each other from what I hear and get on each others nerves really bad but at the end of the day they are still brothers. I did ask a question that is not in the above article. I asked, Coach Self said he has learned to trust his players more in a recent interview. Do you see a difference in practice or think that he acts differently than last year? The answer "the exact same as last year". We will have to see how it plays out during games?

Cheick Diallo arrived in the United States on February 14, 2012 in pursuit of a basketball career. He only attended 2 and 1/2 months of his freshman year of high school. I am not saying he is NOT going to be cleared but it doesn't look good.
@drgnslayr When McLemore was ruled ineligible Coach Self knew weeks before they released the info trying to challenge the NCAA. I think that is where we stand today with the Cheick Diallo situation.

@drgnslayr Diallo has more than likely been denied eligibility and KU is in a rebuttal situation. IF the NCAA had everything they needed they would have already made a decision. It doesn't look good for Diallo. I know many of you are looking for the dislike button but honestly school curriculum in Africa for a 9th grader is sub par and probably wouldn't count in most high schools across America for actual credits that count towards a diploma. Diallo attended 1/2 of his 9th grade year in Africa.
I had my weekly meeting with the team and EVERYONE is practicing on another level. When I asked who has stood out in practice they said that no one has been a star BUT that everyone has come together as a team more than anything. They also said that every since the WUG that they have much more confidence in each other and their ability to win close games.

@Crimsonorblue22 We have 4 kids one is a senior in HS and the valedictorian of his class so far! Our 2 Girls are in band and Cheerleading (DRAMA)! My youngest son is the athletic one that wants to play basketball for KU and we have just started working on that.
