KU just gave up 60 points in a half. Outscored 60-30 in the second half.

@stoptheflop mayo may be regressing to the mean after a hot start? If thsts the case for him as well as the rest of the transfers heating up we should be in good shape

Mayo hasn't made either of his shot attempts, but has 4 rebounds which is leading the team so far. Obviously not a great shooting game, but he's been fine today.

Bu Ku • Feb 01, 2025 09:50 PM

Flory doesn't have a rebound today and has largely been a non factor on offense.

Bu Ku • Feb 01, 2025 09:42 PM

Baylor with these injury issues are not a great team.

Bu Ku • Feb 01, 2025 09:40 PM

Baylor has serious foul issues now.

Why is Storr on Edgecombe???

There's not a great option to cover Edgecombe on the floor right now.

Can we make our FT's please?

@Texas-Hawk-10 Edgecombe is smooth

There's a reason he's going to be a top 5 pick in the draft.

Bu Ku • Feb 01, 2025 09:31 PM

I'm watching Edgecombe and salivating over what Darryn Peterson is going to bring to the table next year because that's the type of athleticism KU hasn't had in quite awhile, like Josh Jackson amd Andrew Wiggins levels of athleticism.

Bu Ku • Feb 01, 2025 09:22 PM

Also, screw Baylor for charging $175 for SRO tickets for today. I'm not paying that much on top of gas and 2 meals to travel today up there today.

I hate that I can't go to these games against Baylor or Houston games because of insane ticket prices. Reduced capacity arenas are pricing a lot of people out of being able to go to games now.

Bu Ku • Feb 01, 2025 09:18 PM

Defense has been much better today so far.

Dajuan Harris • Feb 01, 2025 08:09 PM

Also sounds like a chance that both Roach and Love return today for Baylor.

@kjayhawks BYU beat Baylor. That's another team not understanding, they got the talent but just not really getting it done with any inconsistency , so look out Saturday probably blow us out

Baylor's dealing with injuries as well. They're currently missing Langston Love and Jeremy Roach.

@Texas-Hawk-10 correct I called out the announcers not the players on that post. As did several others one here that you didn’t have the guts to say anything too. You know I love you, enjoy the win!

My point went beyond just that single post about Haase because all you did during football season was talk shit about the team and coaches and all you've been doing with the players and Self the past few weeks is talk negative about them on here, but you're so narrow minded and focused to even realize that.

Peace out!

@approxinfinity ya the guy saying he was shooting off balanced with 3.5 to go still is fucking single digit IQ fella to put it nicely

Do everyone including yourself a favor and shut up. You are the most negative person on these boards and nothing the football players and coaches or basketball players and coaches do is ever good enough. Yet, you have the balls to try call others out for shit talking players on social media when all you do is talk shit about them here and claim to be nice to them on social media. All that does is make two-faced snake and a shitty human being.

This has nothing to do with the post you replied to genius. Nothing wrong with calling out players for bad play it’s part of the game. Big difference IMO than directly messaging or tagging them in negative feedback. Just about everyone on here has negative things about players. It’s part of being an athlete. There will be outside noise at this level.

Calling Jerod Haase single digit IQ, clearly you're not talking shit about him. That's exactly my point about you. All you here do here is post negative shit because you don't have the balls to attach your name to the negative bullshit you post here like you would on social media. So yes, you're a two-faced snake because you hide behind the anonymity of this site instead of saying you're true feelings directly to the players.

No Mayo inbounding this one.

If Juan can't go at Baylor...oh man

Especially since shak is in the doghouse

Shak's not in the doghouse tonight. He's not a strong offensive player and KU needed as much offense as possible which Diggy is better at.

Put Flory on the inbounder amd make it harder to get it in.

Hunter dragged Thaim down on that one, lol!

Grrr...

@BShark said in KU Mad, Central Florida next on schedule, part 2.:

I have noticed Shak Moore has been banished to the shadow realm. Must have pissed Bill off.

This is a game where offense is needed, not defense. Diggy is a superior offensive player to Moore.

A 3 big line up is not the answer.

Storr has got to be the worst top rated transfer in the portal era

To AJ's credit, he's at least being aggressive and getting to the FT line tonight. I can live with this version of AJ.

As you pointed out, he's doing that because defense is optional for ucf

At the same time, he's still the only one driving and forcing contact at the rim.

Other games 2025-2026 • Jan 29, 2025 01:41 AM

Zuby with 13 and 9 (both tied for team high) in St. John's 25 point win (66-41) over Georgetown tonight.

UCF is only 5 points away from what they scored 3 weeks ago.

Hunter, Flory, and KJ on the floor together right now.

Hunter Dickinson does not have a rebound tonight so far.

Tonight's game is the type of situation AJ Storr should thrive in since nobody else is playimg defense either.

@BShark said in KU Mad, Central Florida next on schedule, part 2.:

@approxinfinity He can, just not at the KU level

Diggy at PG is what what someone else thinks Dejuan is at PG.

This is what I thought the team would look like at the beginning of the season. Absolutely no defense being played.

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 02:56 AM

Tonight is frustrating and bringing out the worst in KU's fanbase. I don't understand how some people are justifying Dejuan taking all the blame tonight. He absolutely deserves a piece of the blame for his FT misses, but KU was also 17-30 as a team. Zeke was 3-6, Storr was 0-4, Griffen was 2-4. Harris also didn't dribble the ball off his leg. Harris didn't get a 5 second call. Harris didn't throw away an inbound pass. While Harris does get a piece of the blame, Zeke Mayo gets the biggest piece of the blame for his lack of awareness while inbounding the ball.

@TYOHawk said in Feeling the Fieldhouse magic?:

@kjayhawks it’s even more frustrating when you think about we likely lost out on a future NBA talent in LaBaron. His camp didn’t want him sitting the bench and they know Coach won’t bench Juan ever. He’s held us hostage for years.

Yet last game we got told “he just needs pros around him.” Like no crap every player would look good if they had pro teammates around them.

Dejuan Harris didn't cost KU Philon. I know the narrative is about him playing PG, but if that were the case, Philon wouldn't have gone to Alabama to play next to Mark Sears. Philon decommitted a couple of days after Elmarko announced he was returning, but somehow it was Dejuan's fault, not Self choosing Elmarko. That PG narrative is pure BS.

That was some crap you expect in middle school. This is literally the biggest point of emphasis our refs have towards my middle school team, when the whistle blows, you stop fighting for the ball. I've had players get T's because they didn't stop at the whistle and I've had opponents get T's for not stopping. The reason refs are so strict on this at the middle school level, and I'm sure high school as well is that stuff like fighting over a held ball trying to prove who the strongest or toughest is can lead to fights because players let their emotions and pride take over.

@dmurban More and more high dollar donors are getting the best seats closest to the court instead of students who are being forced up the stands which results in a quieter AFH. Also, losing 1,000 seats doesn't help as well because I'm pretty sure some of that lost seating has affected how many students are given tickets to games.

@kjayhawks said in Big Ern’s Frogs meet The Bidunga Bunch — Game Thread:

@Texas-Hawk-10 your gonna run a line up of 3 bigs for double digit minutes?

Nope, there's 80 minutes to play between the 4 and 5 spots. Divide 80 minutes by 3 players and all 3 between 25 and 30 minutes is the result.

@approxinfinity said in Big Ern’s Frogs meet The Bidunga Bunch — Game Thread:

“Who starts and who doesnt is irrelevant” is just not true. It matters a great deal, as it impacts the flow of the game and it is a matter of confidence and pride.

I think we may need to dissect what is meant by pushing buttons. It isn’t trivial. Getting players to find their best selves is different from joystick coaching and neutering your players.

I agree I really don’t care if KJ returns and hops back into the starting line up. But if KJ is still playing 30 minutes per game while Flory is playing 11-15 we have a problem between Bill Selfs ears. KJ can defend and be an energy guy maybe even more effectively if he’s not out there so long.

KJ, Flory, and Hunter should all be between 25-30 minutes once KJ returns.

The big hope tonight is that the second half for Storr was the light coming on and not a one off.

Rylan is someone that if he's not making his 3's, he's not worth playing significant minutes that night because everything he does is predicated on him making 3's.

@BeddieKU23 said in Big Ern’s Frogs meet The Bidunga Bunch — Game Thread:

@kjayhawks

Tonight's version of Storr is what you paid top dollar for. He was always a key and can be but one game against a very average team isn't enough to trust. Saturday would be a good opportunity for him to play well again

He's earned more minutes on Saturday at least tonight and KU is going to need Storr to have a similar performance against Houston to be able to beat them.

@kjayhawks said in Big Ern’s Frogs meet The Bidunga Bunch — Game Thread:

@BeddieKU23 I’ve said several times we need to ride with both Storr and Griffen at times and see who takes off. We have to have one of them to make a run in March.

And preferably it would be Storr because he's the one capable of going for 30+ when he's on.

Dickinson actually leading scorer, Storr second...

Not at the time of the post.

Houston beat Utah 70-36 tonight.

Storr's the leading scorer for KU now and KU has 5 in double figures.

Is that really what we want? Hunt screening at 3pt line for AJ to shoot a 3? Somehow i think not

Not that version of their two man game. Storr and Hunter running pick/screen and roll should be what they do in their two man game.

Wedgie!
