Damn that felt good!!!
Now get Jank a 3!
Teahan with the Mario Ellie Kiss of Death!
Can we just start the chant now?
He's going to catch a lot of grief for that one, lol!
The ginger is in!

no offensive player yet but one thing KJ can do - -the boy can get up didn't get the finish but still - -jalen finished it off
He's a better version of Jamari Traylor.
Very impressive pass by JCL
Missouri was scared of Prison Mitch coming out and paid off the ref!
Lol! That was a joke!!
If they're going to talk about the 5th Down game, can they also mention the Nebraska kick touchdown too to really rub the salt in?
I think that call is getting switched
Today is so Dejuan Harris' birthday, another reason he's torching the tiggers.

How many other teams can KU have a 30+ point lead on and the crowd still be this into the game? It's a very short list and Misery is at the very top of that list.
Everyone in the building wants to win this by 70.
There's about 20 people who don't, but their opinions don't matter because their the ones getting stomped.

Harris is amped for this one too!! Why else would he decide it's time to torch a team shooting it.

No walk-ons. No mercy. Like John Brown would want.
Disagree, let Teahan and Jankovich each drill 3's to close out the game and a 40+ point win!
I will ALWAYS take a 22 point halftime lead against MethU

Intensity from our guys has really died down. We need a dunk or something
There's the dunk
One day, a KU grad, KSU grad, and a Misery grad are walking along a beach and find a magic lamp. The genie says he'll grant each person one wish. The KSU grad says that he's a farmer like his dad and his kids will one day be farmers too do he asks for the land in Kansas to be fertile forever and genie snaps his fingers and grants the wish.
The Misery grad says that Columbia is the greatest place on earth and hates having non-Misery people visiting so he asks for a wall to be built around Columbia. The genie snaps his fingers and grants the wish.
The KU grad asks the genies about the wall. The genie tells him it's 50' tall and 40' thick and nobody can get in or out. The KU grad thinks for a few seconds and then tells the genie to fill the city with water.
Almost nothing feels better in college basketball than watching Kansas stomp Missouri and reminding them of how inferior they are. MUCK FIZZOU!

Paul Quinn College? Liberty? What legit D1 program schedules those teams? And loses to one of them.
Liberty would've been an at large team last season and has made 3 straight NCAA Tournaments. Them losing to UMKC by double digits is a lot worse than losing to Liberty.

This KU team can get up by or down by double digits against just about anyone I think lol.
Absolutely correct and can do it in lightning speed... especially as we start pushing up the tempo!
I am soooo ready for Self to push these guys to up the tempo! I know it takes practice to become efficient... but I think by conference time we will be pushing the pace more than now!
This team doesn't have the defensive abilities to play as up tempo as a lot of people want to.
Wanted OSU to win so the B12 would probably get in the CFP assuming Georgia wins today.
@mayjay If Leipold is the coach here for 15 years, I'll take that in a heartbeat. If he wins 4 games in 2022, it's not going to generate a lot of interest from better programs. If a better program does come calling after next season, that probably means KU has a great 2022 season and in good shape for a new coach and an AD that seems to be very competent at his job, at least much more than the previous 2.
@mayjay said in 2022 Schedule Finalized:
@tis4tim I hope you are right. Assuming we keep the coach.
If he gets poached, KU participating in bowl season 2023 will be in polar conditions because Hell will have frozen over.....
Leipold doesn't come across as a job hopper and someone that would only be here for a couple of years. He willing left to come to the worst P5 job after spring practice was over when he easily could've stated at Buffalo for one more season and gotten a much better job than Kansas this off-season.
KU volleyball knocked off Creighton tonight to advance to the Sweet 16 of the women's volleyball tournament. They will take on the winner of the Pitt/Penn St. match.
Mark Turgeon has resigned at Maryland and Danny Manning has been named the interim coach for the remainder of the season.
St. Mary's and Utah St. is a pretty good game. 2 point Gaels lead with just under 2 minutes left.

Missouri is trash this year.
The Big 12 announced the dates for the conference games today so KU's 2022 schedule is now complete.
September 3- Tennessee Tech
September 10- at West Virginia
September 17- at Houston
September 24- Duke
October 1- Iowa St.
October 8- TCU
October 15- at Oklahoma
October 22- at Baylor
November 5- Oklahoma St.
November 12- at Texss Tech
November 19- Texas
November 26- at Kansas St.
Both were Miles hires, and so is one of the guys being promoted.
Lincoln Riley is also affecting OU's recruiting class as they their lost 5 star QB in the 2022 class. Spencer Rattler also announced he is transferring which was going to happen regardless of Lincoln Riley considering he was benched.

now just saw coming off the bleacher report: - -Breaking News , Brett Venables has verbally agreed to become OU'S next head Coach.
DJ Viagalelei and numerous players are expected to join him
I'd very surprised if Venables wants anything to do with OU after the way they ran him off for Mike Stoops a few years back.
@AsadZ said in Post Tournament Thoughts:
Nice post and analysis.
Regarding Team D, could this be attributed to this year's having several new players including transfers who are still trying to figure out Self's D style and philosophy?
No, because the Dayton game showed Self has a core 7 man rotation right now. 5 of those 7 were here last year. The difference is Remy instead of Garrett which is a huge downgrade and JCL instead of Thompson which is an upgrade. Yesufu can help of he cracks the rotation because he is a good defender, but his biggest issue is consistency.
This was a bad defensive team last year and it's mostly the same pieces again this year.

So Ok , guessing maybe I'm more Naive then what I thought. I just don't see why the move Anywhere. I mean he is already at a top notch program , awesome facilities, always top recruits , very winning program, probably gets anything he asks for - -don't see a step up improvement for sure - -to USC? - -not a better program at the very best lateral move great fan base - -I just can't see the advantage - -why? - - -I'm sure he makes a butt load of money from his Base Salary and then all the endorsements - -tell me how does USC be a better position then Oklahoma - the league he is moving to by far is no better - I 'll wait go ahead fill me in
The path to a playoff at USC and the P12 is much easier than the SEC, even if the playoffs expand. In the new SEC, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, Auburn, LSU, Florida, Texas, and Texas A&M are all teams that are or will consistently be threats to win the SEC. In the PAC 12, it's usually Oregon or Utah that's the biggest hurdle.
Also, recruiting to USC with the right coach can land a top 5 class every season because SoCal is one of the 3 most fertile recruiting areas after Texas and Florida.

I'm not sure why people are surprised this team still isn't that good defensively this season. 4 of 5 starters from last year are back from a bad defensive and Remy Martin who is an average defender on his best day replaced a DPOY in Marcus Garrett.
This isn't a team that's going to win many games because of defense this season. This is a team that will have to outscore teams on most nights. This is why Self is trying to get Dave going because we know he can be a reliable scorer and give zero KU a fourth guy capable of getting 15 a night. Self does also need to let Remy be Remy because his scoring and driving ability is what can really open up the offense for everyone else.

Lincoln Riley headed to USC. Legit shocker. I don’t get heading there instead of LSU but I’m glad he’s out of the league
There's a lot less pressure at USC right now than LSU. If the SEC keeps a 2 division format when OU and Texas join, LSU and OU wouldn't likely even be in the division as Alabama. I would guess Alabama and Auburn would move to the SEC East and Missouri and would move to SEC West.
I'm also wondering if Lincoln turning down LSU has anything to do with Jimbo Fisher's potential interest in LSU. Another name I'm hearing as a potential option with Billy Napier off the table is Lane Kiffin.
David Cutcliffe fired after 14 years at Duke.
This feels like a repeat of Friday with KU coming out flat to start the second half.
Devonte nailed a game winner in Utah tonight for the Pelicans.
Leipold will get KU there. The evidence is there as KU was very competitive in its final 3 games and 4 out of the last 6. KU was also one of the least penalized teams in the country which is a positive sign.
KU's defense forced 8 turnovers over the last three games. Jalon Daniels has appeared to emerge as a clear cut starter going into the off-season which is something KU hasn't had a very long time. Devin Neal has emerged a top level back.
Leipold and staff obviously still have work to do on both sides of the ball, but there's a lot of positive things to build on this off-season.

Obviously the sample size with Yes and Zach is small but I do think they merit more consideration. I'd like to see less time for Harris, and man Jalen has really been terrible so far.
Yesufu's advanced numbers aren't great so I don't know that he should play that much more. Clemence looks good because of his limited minutes. If he was was getting significantly more minutes, his deficiencies would be exploited. As Clemence gets more comfortable with the system, I agree he should get more minutes.
Right now, KU's best offensive players based on PER are Clemence (48.8), Agbaji (30.2), Braun (24.9), Remy (21.2), McCormack (18.2), and Lightfoot (16.7). Those are the only rotation players currently over 15 PER which is considered average. Coleman-Lands (13.8), Pettiford (13.8), Adams (12.2), Yesufu (11.9), Wilson (8.1), and Harris (6.8) have all been below average on offense this year.

Gonzaga not invincible.
Duke proof you don’t have to have to play through a post player just because they’re 6’10
Except Duke mostly did because their guards weren't good most of the game and only went away from Banchero because of his cramps and he was off the floor. When Banchero was out there, Duke absolutely played through Banchero.
@approxinfinity said in Non-KU Games:
Holmgren is special but I think Banchero should get drafted over him. I don’t trust the health of a 7’0 195 dude. Who knows how putting weight on will go for that frame?
He can put plenty of weight on his frame. He should be able to get to 240-250 easily without much drop-off in athletic ability.
