Why would Self be subpoenaed and testify in a case that has nothing to do with KU?? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Evan Daniels talks about a few guys from the 2020 class that could reclassify to 2019. Obviously R.J. Hampton is the big name but he also mentioned N'Faly Dante and said KU is one of four schools recruiting him. He list KU, Ketucky, LSU, and Oregon. That kind of surprised me, because I hadn't really seen him and KU mentioned together for awhile. Just assumed he was a Nike kid.

Not that it was in question, but Self just confirmed Vick is not coming back this year.

New 2019 Recruiting • Mar 11, 2019 05:09 PM

He just committed.

Which is completely different from this squad. We all pray the mindset of these guys takes a leap forward this week and next. This would be the perfect opportunity for Dedric and Devon to shine as leaders.

This is the most fragile group Self has had that I can remember.

KSU just announced Wade is Questionable for the Big 12 tournament after hurting his foot again.

Here’s another interesting article on Shaka and Texas. This guy makes it sound like there is no way they get rid of him this year.

@HighEliteMajor you nailed it when you said “common sense” that’s all it takes to understand and read what happened.

It’s 100% known that Self did not want Vick back and or expect him back to start the year. He was on a short leash to begin with.

Will Wade was suspended Indefinitely.

Should last less then 24 hours. The NCAA will clear him LOL

Wow, LSU acted fast. Has anyone heard of any information coming out on U of A and/or Sean Miller?

The rumor is Miller is toast after the season.

While I believe this to be true it is amazing he has signed the #1 recruiting class in the country and Bill can't even get a top 100 kid.

According to Nathan Fenno of the LA Times Nebraska and Texas have now been linked to the FBI trail. This according to a superseding document.

This kid is making a official this weekend as well.

It was a good run. Thank you Jayhawks. • Mar 07, 2019 12:53 AM

I just don’t see Self leaving right now. You don’t build what he built and then tuck your tail and run at the first sign of true turmoil. And I’m talking about the FBI stuff not winning the conference. He has a lot of pride in KU and what he has done. To me it would be way out of character for him to just leave and let some else clean up his mess.

The Streak • Mar 07, 2019 12:48 AM

@wissox like others have mentioned I assume because those two are not playing. That quote is exactly what I was talking about when I said Freshman don’t have the equity in the program yet.

It’s also should be mentioned that payers like Sherron, Frank, and Devonte don’t grow on trees. Dotson might become that but unfortunately he doesn’t have a upper class and to show him the ropes.

Bracketology Time • Mar 06, 2019 06:22 PM

KU is now a 4 seed in Lunardi's bracket and a 5 seed in Jerry Palm's (CBS) bracket. I think that is where they end up unless they lose Saturday and or Thursday night then I could see them even being a 6 seed.

Really good article here from Jesse Newell. Pretty much what I was saying last night in the game thread.

Agbaji/Next Year's Team • Mar 06, 2019 05:20 PM

I agree with that assessment as well @BShark . It just doesn't make much sense for Dedric to come back. I think Dotson and Grimes will both for sure be back. It is hard to get a read on Doke. One would think he should come back, but he could make a lot of money playing overseas.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see KJ and Charlie move on as well. I think they could both be grad transfer candidates.

Without Doke. Pretty much says it all.

Yep. This team is a 6-8 seed the way it’s constructed right now.

It’s not even debatable that many times this year on the road KU came out flat, no energy, not prepared, etc...

It was a good run. Thank you Jayhawks. • Mar 06, 2019 04:24 AM

Technically the streak was still alive win this game began. The effort and energy this team came out with is a embarrassment to the KU program. If I was a former player I would be pissed off.

However, when you don’t really have any players that have bought into the program ( sans Mitch) not sure what you can expect.

I think the most frustrating thing is this team just never really got better as the tear went on. Clearly Dave is becoming more comfortable and has improved, but I’d make a argument that Grimes, Dotson, and Ochai have regressed as the season ( short season with Ochai) has gone on. That is just extremely out of character for a Self coached team.

I just don’t remember a team as fragile under Self. Obviously there is a lot going on around the program right now and I’m sure that’s part of it, but hoping up flat tonight with all that was on the line was sad to see.

I'm definitely embarrassed by this performance. Why wouldn't you be? It's ridiculous. It's one thing to have sub standard talent. It's quite another to lack effort. And another yet for it to plainly obvious this team has zero fundamentals whatsoever. Wtf do we work on in practice? Our suntan? When you don't have superior talent you focus on controllable things.... Fundamentals, defense, rebounding. And actually playing hard. It's beyond embarrassing that this team has failed to develop one of those items on a consistent basis. Completely thottled by a goddamn bubble team.

Correct. This team has zero identity. It doesn’t do anything great. It has nothing to use as it’s crutch.

Too Sooner to Give up OU-KU game thread • Mar 06, 2019 03:19 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 No. I don’t think Freshman have enough equity to buy in yet. If they did you wouldn’t see this effort. This team can’t shoot, but defense is all effort and this team is exerting none.
