Flory 16 boards and three blocks. With Cowboys hanging all over him.
The range on the last three that Zeke made was wow!
@patoh3 Play of the half.
The crowd gets a fist bump!
@SlimShaddy54 Can't sleep around him.
Great defense from KJ and Juando.
Opposing teams shoot poor percentages against us. We shoot better than they do almost every game.
Who is our go to guy on offense? Zeke gets assigned their best long and athletic defender. Is capable of shooting 4/12 or worse from the field. He is getting his best looks, and making them, from pull up threes. Either early in the offense or on fast breaks. Other than that he is covered.
Hunter has a few moves but he has to be close inside to use them. He is getting pushed farther out more and more by all the bruisers. He seems to be hurrying the 6-8 footers and misses them. I think he is also hurrying the bunnies and one and done off to the races.
We get back on defense but can't seem to match up on our guys soon enough and they get open looks. Hunter gets back when he can but he is slow and has the farthest to run. Teams see this and exploit us.
Zeke and Coit are our best at being ready to shoot threes. Rylan is a good shooter but he seems funky in getting open. Juan has never taken a three with out contemplating his naval first. He is streaky but gets open because he's not considered a threat. I like Storrs and Shak taking corner threes. Hunter??? IDK. Passmore has put up some and when he is on the floor in his 15 second inserts we look so much bigger.
I see threes missed by the other team and the big bounces they get a second or third chance. It seems one and done on our end.
So Hunter, Zeke (play some defense please) and Juan get your mo-effing-jo back or fake an injury and sit down. Quit being so boring and turnovers can be exciting but not really. Kease work on free throws maybe practice with Flory.
I think we win today with a another game in the sixties and not look good.
Love, Zabudda T.
If it hadn't been for Grayson I'd been in Tennessee. "Tom Dooley" The Kingston Trio.
Everyone of our guys currently suck on offense. Hunter on bunnies, free throws and triples. Juan makes inappropriate turnovers and is poor on long set shots but entertains us on his long drives behind the basket and when he comes out on the other side nothing has changed because the other nine players have stopped to watch him and wondering why.
Now that we know we are losers why not have more fun. Starting five: Flory, Passmore, Zeke, Diggy and Shak. They play the entire first half. Then bench them for Hunt, KJ, Storr, Rylan and Juando. We get to the final four and beat Missouri as Bill is watching from the hospital. Practices would be a spirited scrum.
Slow dancing.
We have played our way into the vast middle of the NCAA basketball road. I think we have a very good roster that collectively does not play that way. The thing that I see is the seemingly bewildered looking plays we make on offense. We play good enough defense once we get behind but can't take advantage of it.
Watching this team is just like seeing a stick man doing the robot dance.
Utes with a DD our turnovers and their offensive boards.
Hunts last air ball was brutal.
Great defense this half.
Hunt 2/8? Really man?
We came in as solo 4th place in the conference. Staying there will be fine with me. I do like to play with a lead every once in a while.
I don't like their 8 3PTs but love our 5!
Kease is an awful FT shooter but has that NFL ready body.
KU is elite in two defensive stats. Opponents FG% and 3PT%.
@kuballin10
You've got me there.
As you said when he lets them play free and get out offensively. We are a better team when/if we play hard and without fear. Really it is without having to worry about being pulled if you take a non-Self shot from three which is a missed shots. Let them sort it out. When you go 1 out of 12 over two games there are options like Storr over Rylan or Coit over Shak. If you dog it getting back on defense or don't fight around a screen, etc, then you deserve to be put in time out. I agree with 61-59 as a loser and we have gone three out of five wins over and over this season. Bill is a great coach so you will have to take it up on yourself to make a splash and if you can't do that which is not likely with AJ or Rylan then we see 18 minutes for Flory and 30+ for KJ. No one will step it up over six games that I can see.
I will say this gently and out of kindness for all. Buzz killers or negative persons who seek to dampen the mood, enjoyment and pleasure of others can cast a pall over all of this. I have always looked forward to our daily discourse but now it's depressing.
Hunter missed a bunch of close in. When you get a good look and it fizzles it hurts plus they can get out and run.
Yeah I was talking more about the end. Storr and Rylan our gel guys had an off night from three 2/11 and are still not there or here or somewhere but it was just a bad shooting game but Storr made nice things happen.
It's alright we had plenty of good shots not fall that normally would.
We played hard until the end and they had 13 threes and 4 or so were BS makes. Not our day and it hurts a because it's K-State.
Now answer.
Lol
Bull poop three
KSU is just playing harder. Can we please?
On AJ's dribble drive he did not fall in love with the three. If they charge you drive around them if you are wide open shoot it.
Just when there is hope.
They are playing great at home against their most hated rival. We can seem to answer the bell. They have received all the crazy bounces, Just keep plugging and don't do lousy plays on offense.
We missed 7 puppies and that's where fast break points start. Other than that it would have a lead likely.
Really a miracle shot.
They have feasted on our poor finishing
missing Harris.
Good d.
We are just missing open shot and layups. Keep playing D.
Ok get a bucket.
Flory has little offense to offer on offense and
what happened on that lob?
KSU will be frantic and on us hard. Our pissy wissy early game passes won't help unless but we can avoid them. This game could be our next step in recapturing the elusive mojo hawk.
Tired physically and mentally and one feeds the other. A welcome four day rest for the team.
Good job by AJ in becoming more valuable by not just his shooting but staying home on defense, understanding the switching thing and willingly being more physical. Rylan kept playing hard through the shooting lapse and the determination on his face when he made the three later in the game was good. It's clear the better they play the better we are. Rylan doesn't back down either. The non-called elbow to the head by Zeke during his drive was a payback. ISU came out of a TO and were deliberate in their intimidation attempts. Our guys bristled at that especially Juan, Zeke and Hunter who performed his semi-cheap shoulder bump on a couple of guards who had wandered into his painted house uninvited. How rude of them.
Great play and kind of inspiring to the team and crowd. I think Juan was getting tired of the refs.
Watched the highlights and guys were tired. Rylan hands on his knees in the first half, Zeke trying to drive downhill and finally just burying another long one. The defenses were not as sharp but it's easy to see why. Pride was evident. ISU getting physical but no one backed down. Good work guys. It was cool to see Rylan make a dinger and the joy/relief on his face.
My wife is testing my resolve. She said why don't you come to bed? Hopefully I'll be back before the end of the half time.
Saturday is a long time ago. Bill Self.
