@mayjay Nothing wrong with it. There arenāt too many Brettās. Thatās what makes them special. Hoz just wonāt be that to KC fans, but he did whatās best for him at least short term. I wish him well, thank him for the memories and look forward to seeing how the Royals move on.
@Bwag Gotta have crazy hair to distract from the giant head.
@BShark Yeah, Bill canāt stand mistakes. Heāll take a steady player over an inconsistent playmaker every time.
Asked what he told his team after the game -- West Virginia's sixth loss in as many visits to Allen Fieldhouse -- Huggins said, "It wasn't their fault."
Underlying message- donāt even try. I love it when they come into Allen Fieldhouse defeated before the game even starts.
@StLJhawk I believe it was Malik whom was held early in the game.
@JayHawkFanToo Scott Boras. When you sign for him you are about the money, not team loyalty. Saw this coming years ago. I just hoped I would be proven incorrect.
Dok flopped to get the foul called after dude had physically shoved him back a second before with no call. But hereās the kicker shouldnāt Huggins have been glad about the call? It stopped our offense that was getting going to put Dok on the line for a one and one. Dickhead in OU beat KU that way.
Padres overpaid. Iām glad the Royals didnāt invest $21 mil per year in a slightly above average first baseman. KC loved Hos, but he apparently didnāt return said love as contract talks never seemed to come close.
I hope Huggins and every other coach that comes into Allen Fieldhouse feels as though they will be screwed by the refs. Itās great when they are already at a mental disadvantage coming into the building. They are already half beaten with that attitude. Blame it on the refs that way you never get better.
Lane violation on the front end of a one and one for wvu too.
I re-watched the game. As far a egregious fouls not called there were at least two and a goal tend against KU (Garrett getting whacked in the head and Svi getting throw out of bounds by Carter at the end) not called and at least one against WVU (Dokās block at the end) that were not called. Also one bad foul called on Dok when Kontae fell over him on the block late. WVU had a 5 point possession curtesy of the refs, itās not like one team got all the calls. WVU drove the ball to the hoop less than 10% of the time, which makes sense when youāre raining threes, but doesnāt result in fouls being called.
@jaybate-1.0 In context the quote was after an elite eight loss. Bill wanted to be playing not watching others play. It's more of a bash on DickieV or Bill himself in that instance. It really has nothing to do with us board rats. I just wish we could bottle that feeling the hurt/desperation/urgency and pull it out as needed. It usually happens too late.
@Buster-1926 They just arenāt giving out steroid era contracts anymore. After 32 without roids most athletes stats (abilities/athleticism) decline. So we arenāt seeing 8 year massive contracts for 28 year old dudes. But who really expected rational decisions in free agency???
Looks like the one year $17.3 million contracts that were tendered the Royals players may have been what they shouldāve taken. The exception being LoCainās deal, it might be better as heās in physical decline and probably wonāt be playing center field much longer.
Iām not worried about Billās direct involvement (or the stafff really). I do worry about what Adidas did for KU without the programs knowledge or consent.
The bright side is, once the investigation became public most of the guys KU had been recruiting signed with KU. This leads me to believe the incoming class is clean. And itās the best class KU has signed in years.
Looking at the ISU crowd; I realized where the term basic bitches comes from.
Does anyone have the usage and efficiency numbers on Dedric at Memphis?
@KUSTEVE Itās because he doesnāt finish at the rim. He throws his head back, the ball up, and says a quick prayer.
Devonteās +/- being what it is (the team is -20 in the ten minutes heās sat during conference play) it projects out to a 40 point loss if he doesnāt play. Unfortunately thatās the eye test too.
I wonder if the team could be better right now if they had taken some lumps earlier due to a illness or minor injury causing Graham to miss a game or two. Graham needs reliable help and no one has stepped up.
Itās probably because he couldnāt repeat what Bill said to them in practice.
@mayjay I think you are thinking of @stupidmichael, whom is always scared.

I donāt want to hear anyone saying KU gets the calls.
Then donāt sit near an ISU fan during any game. They complain about KU getting calls when KU isnāt even playing.
@BeddieKU23 That site is nice! All of Daveās individual game stats (and most everyone else KU recruits). Very cool. It looks like Big Dave is very consistent in the 10-15 ppg with a couple duds (2,6) and a couple of big games (20,23). Consistency would be nice, it generally means a consistent motor.

(this not aimed at BShark personally but making a logic point in general). Sorry, just not logical to oversimplify it with an absolute āzeroā statement. People can believe whatever you want, but whereās the counterbalance to the examples of pot-smoking players who could still play at a high level (Rush, Chalmers, Arthur), vs the players that it may indeed affect their grades, practice gym work ethic, or simply their attitude to be able to give a damn.
Come on, man, if anybody knows anything about any drug, they should admit it can affect different people differently! So give me the list of guys who played for KU that it DID affect negatively? But I doubt one may offer that, right?
Hey, I think Colorado is showing just how much $$ can be made off legalized pot, but you know, thatās not what this thread is for, really. Its about what statistical areas our team needs major improvements in & what our guys (all of them) are going to do about it? Stay focused. Do our guys have focus? Im not pretending to know which guys are affected by which possible issues, Iād just like to see they can statistically handle Bill Selfās business, something the team is not doing right now.
Eeh. We no longer hire interns from Colorado. Enrollment skyrocketed upon the legalization of pot. I don't mind if someone smokes (or embibes alcohol) occasionally, but if you make your higher education decision based not on classes, but pot or alcohol I don't need you as an employee. (Or on the ball team - cough Bragg cough)

@dylans ha, funny thought: thereās role players (KU has some)...and roll players as in what kind of paper u using to roll that (KU may have a bag-o-dudes like that too). (laughter)
It was meant to tongue in cheek, but maybe too subtle?
If you donāt think many of the KU players smoke pot throughout the years you are misled. Pierce, Chalmers, Arthur are the biggest stars of recent memory, but many a roll player has also partaken. I had a roommate who was a pothead and one of Royās boys (Nick) used to sell him pot whenever one of Terry Allenās guys wouldnāt. Iād be more surprised if the team was 100% clean.
We canāt blame this solely on pot. The guys have to own it. Itās a few individuals lack of effort that is killing the team D. I never doubted Chalmers will to win. Pierce gave it his all. No Arthur, no Championship. This crop of guys just need to buy into the team and stop worrying about their personal stats/pro potiental as that stuff will take care of itself.
@BShark Might be between the ears.
@JayHawkFanToo It says that he made his picks before the committee provided theirs. I guess your point is he isnāt too far off? I donāt believe we you are saying his opinion is more important than the actual selection committee?
@JayHawkFanToo Itās based off of the word of the bracket preview released by the selection committee as opposed to a bracktologist. Itās merely a snapshot of today. Bracketologists project out. Iām just impressed that KU is that high personally. Tied for most group 1 & 2 wins is apparently as big as advertised.
KU knows how to schedule. Whomever is in charge of the schedule is really good at what they do. Didnāt miss a beat with the format change.
Kansas being No. 6 overall is a clear sign that quadrants are going to be a huge factor this season. Jayhawks are tied for the most Quadrant 1 wins and Quadrant 1 + 2 wins. Jeff Borzello

:face_palm:
@jaybate-1.0 LBJ has never won a ring without a Jayhawk on his roster. Mario and Sasha.
@BShark Just jokes to fit the narrative. Nothing of substance. There have been people say heās gone all along. Iām not one of them.
@wissox The Star has been anti-KU in a subversive way the last 2-3 years. Before that it was more fair. Too much MU love, but thatās to be expected.
@wissox I believe itās pronounced Udoka (I dunk on you) Azubuike (ouch)
@wissox lol Iāve been told he wonāt be here next season. Thanks for playing along!
@jaybate-1.0 They could make it happen, but it would be weak sauce on LeBronās behalf. I think LeBron is most likely to be in Cleveland, LA or Houston next year, but that is pure speculation.
@wissox Lol Iāll take a stab at it:
K (Kay) J (jay) Lawson (Law - son)
Dedrick (dead - rick) Lawson (Law - son)
Mitch (like heāll make you his b....) Lightfoot (Light - foot)
Quentin (Quin ten) Grimes (grime with an s)
Marcus (Mark us) Garrett (Gair etā)
Devon (Dev - on) Dotson (Dot - son)
Charlie (Char - lee) Moore (more)
@jaybate-1.0 A friend of mine is a huge LBJ/Cleveland fan he really wanted them to get Boogie before he got hurt or Davis, but they would be crazy to let Davis go.
@jaybate-1.0 The Cavs are ridiculously over the cap. And the new contracts they acquired put them another 16 million over the cap. So they can trade some of those contracts for player or players of equal contract dollars and remain over the cap. Or they can dump tens of millions of dollars in contracts just to get to the cap. The Cavs are in a tough spot salary cap wise. I believe they can only go further over the cap by re-signing their current players.
Thatās why many speculate LeBron will leave in free agency, the Cavs arenāt getting much better next season. But Iām not sure. You could see the writing on the wall when LeBron left Miami- he hated being the bad guy and desperately wanted to be the good guy again. They only way he could do that is to return to Cleveland. He brought Cleveland a championship; now I donāt know what he wants to do, but any obligations he feels towards Cleveland should be fulfilled.
@mayjay Didnāt the Saints win in the first full year back in New Orleans after being displaced when the super dome was torn up by said hurricane? It seems I must be misremembering by a year or two as well.
Cavs have zero chance this year barring several key players going down for GS. They may not get past Atl to even get to Boston. I like the moves for the Cavs, they got younger and more athletic not to mention hit a culture reset, but they are not catching the Warriors. The Cavs need a better point guard and Paul George or Kwahi Leonard to be on the same plane as the GD Warriors.
Yeah overlapping posts.
