Meh, Tre is good, I can't wait to see the Jayhawks kick him in the teeth.
I want Dok drawing fouls, but can we get a substitute ft shooter for him? I guess if they are and ones and KU rebounds well it would be an advantage, but I feel sorry for Dok when he’s on the line. It’s just painful.

A better center with less minutes played in the NBA than JoJo hasn’t happened since...Wilt? Embiid is practically a rookie. Dude is dominant I just hope he can stay healthy so we can all see what he can do!
Lightfoot’s PER is 15 same as Newman, and Garrett.
Svi comes in at 19 PER.
Graham and Vick are at 25 PER.
Azubuike’s 33 PER is 10th in the nation.
15 is the average college player. Statistically Lightfoot is an average college player. We are so spoiled when we have to watch average play (Newman, Lightfoot) we freak out about them not being any good. What a problem to have!
The tougher the conference the tougher it is on everybody not named KU too. KU loses 4 and wins by 2.
I think another way of looking a this is: Do you want Mitch tying up a scholarship for 5 years?
@BShark Looks like a stud, but doesn’t seem like KU was ever in the game. Probably going to be hard to sign top ‘19 guards with Dotson and Moore on the roster. (I assume Grimes will be gone.) But a top wing should happen hopefully.
Romeo in ‘18 would be fantastic too. I just don’t know who is going to leave to open up that roster spot.
@justanotherfan Business decisions are best not made by the heart. I think Alex has been ok, but this year he is really good. He’s getting older 36ish and has only one year on his contract. If the Chiefs keep him next year they won’t be able to trade him to recoup any value for the 2 first round picks sitting on the bench (Mahomes) unless they re-sign Alex to a multi-year deal. It’s quiet the quandary and I’m glad I don’t have to figure it out.
I would like to see Smith on the roster for one more year before Mahomes (hopefully) gets too good to keep on the bench. We shall see if that’s the course the new GM takes. I hope they dont’ have to dump Smith to save salary to try and fix the rest of the roster.

I remember back when the steak was in its third year thinking how great it was and how disappointed I'll be when Texas overtakes us. Well Texas isn't quiet what they used to be and I still haven't felt that level of disappointment. Sure it's a bummer not winning it all every year, but there is a ton to be thankful for!

The Kansas team that beat Hield was better at this point than this KU team currently is. So I don’t really like the Hield comparison, it’s not as favorable as it seems at first blush. Ellis’ Sr. year should’ve been a national championship year, dang it. An Elite eight will be quite the accomplishment for this years squad without marked improvement.
I expect Silvio will be an impact player at some time in his stay in Larryville. His impact this year will be keeping Dok a little fresher and not having to play Mitch at the 5.

I still think Brent Venables would be a great head coach. Unfortunately he has all kinds of KSU ties, so KU is not a likely destination for this Salina, KS boy. I imagine he’s pretty happy at Clemson currently, but a head coaching gig will likely be in his future.
The pulse in SW Kansas is that KSU fans do not want Snyder’s boy as coach. They think it will be a disaster. I do not know who they think should be hired though.
@jayballer54 Well if he’s anything like my 18 year old self. He’s doing the things he loves playing ball, enjoying his HS friends for one last week, & seeing his family. Packing can and will be done at midnight the night before, lol.
Dark thoughts say he is bracing for not being approved and doesn’t want to be too let down. But I think this is less likely than he’s 19 and wants to play around the week of Christmas.
@jayballer54 I don’t think DeSousa has anything he can do about his eligibility, but worry. So playing basketball and working on skills is a great thing to do!

Kansas bound recruits Quentin Grimes, Devon Dotson, Silvio De Sousa and David McCormack are once again considered to be among the top 50 player in the country in the newly updated 2018 Top 247 rankings. Evan Daniels, Josh Gershon, Brian Snow and Jerry Meyer are the four National Recruiting Analyst that put together the Top 247 rankings.
The highest ranked Kansas signee is G Quentin Grimes. Grimes did fall one spot at #13 overall and the #2 combo guard in the class. Devon Dotson climbed one spot to #19 and the #4 overall PG in the class. PF Silvio De Sousa fell a bit to #38 after previously being ranked #26 overall. De Sousa comes in as the #7 ranked PF in the class. C David McCormack also fell a bit in the rankings after previously being ranked #29 overall. McCormack is now ranked #47 overall and is the #6 ranked C in the class.
With the release of the updated Top 247 2018 rankings the Kansas Jayhawks once again jumped up to #1 in the 2018 team rankings. The Jayhawks currently have two five-star recruits and two four-star recruits in the class. Quentin Grimes and Devon Dotson make up the two five-star recruits with rankings of 13 and 19. Silvio De Sousa and David McCormack are the two four-star recruits in the class with rankings of 38 and 47.
Kansas is looking to add to its already top ranked class with either #3 ranked Zion Williamson or #5 ranked Romeo Langford. If the Jayhawks add either prospect to their class the Jayhawks will likely have the #1 ranked class in 2018 all locked up.

Walton is just a dude at a basketball game talking about his glory days and whatever else thrills him. This is okay on replay like mystery science theater 2000, but not so great the first time through.

@jaybate-1.0 None, but 19 is much closer to full grown adult than 17. That will help in this case. It won’t make him an instant success, but good God man we’re throwing Lightfoot out there. I want to see something resembling a grown man in the post again even if he isn’t quiet ready for prime time this year.
I’m almost to the point of giving up on this season anyways and his early addition and seasoning is going to be big for next season. I said almost - there is a faint glimmer of hope in these possible additions.
@jayballer54 To me Devonte looked more natural as a 2, so Young at the point let’s Devonte’ just play. It also give you three very good guards with ball handling skills able to play the point. Young would be nice, (I’d prefer Sexton) but a post is what this team is really lacking. Dok needs some help.
The best thing about no post depth is Lightfoot and Dok are getting all the minutes they can handle. That should speed their development up.
Lucas was as technically sound as Tim Duncan. I think Landon would make an excellent big man coach with his solid technique and even keel personality.
I miss the days when people would go out of their way to help one another. Apparently I’m old fashioned.

The clone wars should've been cool. There was no reason to kill off Han Solo and Hans kid sucks. I can't stand that (new bad guy) actor because of his role in the HBO show Girls (wife used to watch this horrible show).
