Better than I expected, but no savior. He’s extremely athletic and it shows. He needs lots of work, but he offers more on offense than Garrett.
99-54 the roof is about to come off!
Personally for me, not rich by any means. It will reduce my current tax burden by about 40%. How that helps the country is beyond me, but how that helps me is pretty obvious: doubles the standard deduction, the child credit is doubled, my tax bracket goes down 3%.
@REHawk I hope Newman gets that much needed rest. But if KU plays the 4-1 exclusively there isn’t enough guards to rest anyone much. It’s a major dilemma.
1 - JoJo White backups Mason and Vaughn
2- Chalmers backup Hinrich
3- Pierce backups Rush then Wiggins
4- Manning backup Collison
5- Wilt backups Clyde and Embiid
LaFrentz just missed my 13 man roster.
Too bad the Packers and their coach are so average around Rogers. I’d like to see him not have to carry a team. I don’t think we’ve seen all Rodgers can be due to this supporting cast.
It’ll be my boy’s first Allen Fieldhouse experience today. I fully expect a 20 pt. blowout and a lot of fun to be had by the ‘Hawks.
@BShark same mistake I made last weekend.
Ugg. I can’t watch the game. The only thing worse than watching the Hawks play poorly is listening to Hannini and Gurley try to describe it.
I wonder what Ty’s wingspan is? A long wingspan really helps on D. Or holds a guy like Svi back. I’d be willing to bet a 6’4” Ty already has the same 6’5” wingspan of 6’8” Svi.
@jayballer54 First NBA game I’ve watched this year and it was a good one!
I'd never seen Covington play before tonight. Dudes a chucker! - 3/14 for 3 last I saw.
@Ralster Glad to hear from you!
@jayballer54 I don’t really care much for any NBA, but I want to see Embiid on a contender. I don’t know that Philly will be able to overcome being Philly.
I’d take a team of RS Sr. Embiid and 4 Clay Youngs vs the NCAA field.
So when is Embiid’s contract up? I want to see him on a good team. Embiid on the Cavs would be amazing. Embiid with the Warriors would be unfair. Embiid in Boston would make them a legit contender.
Wow.
@wissox nah, I give that nod to the chicken man who’s name shall not be spoken.
As poorly as KU plays in the soulless Sprint Center KU should practice there as often as possible 2 weeks a year minimum. The NCAA routinely “awards” KU with Tournament games there, it’s time to make it our home court. I’m sick of watching our guys shoot like crap in large arenas. Allen Fieldhouse can be too comfortable and our team needs to face a little adversity to see how they respond. The last two games responses to adversity were not encouraging.
11 in black was nice and 13 was okay, but the rest of the team were scrubs. It would be hard to evaluate top talent. It’s easy to see who is d1 talent on the court, they stick out. It’s figuring out how they stack up against each other while they are playing inferior talent. Kinda like KUs early schedule. Ranked 2 and blowing everyone out until the talent gap is less, then you get to see what you have.
I was bummed when Grimes said he likely won’t be playing with Markese. I hope he shows out if he’s gonna be an oad.

Aside from being named to the all-tournament team, Dotson was awarded the “Most Spectacular Player” of the China-USA Youth Basketball Specular, which was given to the player that, not only made a lasting impression on the court but one that held himself to an even higher standard off the court.
So he’s nothing like the Ball kid?
The only way Sexton plays for KU is on the practice squad with Preston. The NCAA really punishes those who self report and the whole ineligible until proven eligible is backwards when compared to our legal system. I know it's to prevent sanctions, but it can drain a kids eligibility.
Ayton $$$ would be nice or Preston $$$ :( , but KU would still be dangerously thin. Just not down a man like now.
As long as it’s not an agent or runner it has the possibility of being undone.
@wissox this years dearth of talent allows for next years surplus (hopefully).
Svi’s wingspan is 6’5” no wonder he can’t defend anyone or protect his dribble. The t-Rex comparison isn’t too far off. Good thing he’s skinny, he’d have a hard time wiping his kester if he had a belly.
@JayHawkFanToo I don’t like the players playing there either. The crowd doesn’t positively impact the game.
I’d rather KU played in front of a rowdy road crowd than an easily panicked KC crowd. The crowds frayed nerves seemingly destroys the players confidence.
If it’s supposed to be a home game; bus in the students. Give KU an advantage in KC. Make that sucker like a home game!!!
One thing’s for certain, Sosiniski needs a new haircut that doesn’t involve a bowl.
I'm sorry, all in jest. Nothing to report, just my evaluation of his character.
I guess to paraphrase our most "famous" member.
All fiction
A bit of malice.

Houston, we have a problem.
Yeah the Sprint Center. I hate playing there, but they need to figure it out before we get more “home” NCAA games.
@REHawk Since the rule change in ‘13 Bill hasn’t had a good defensive team.
Pretty bad when Scott Drew looks down upon your actions...
@nuleafjhawk Strangely Harbaugh did flirt with KU. His wife’s family is from KC. Not that it’s likely, but never say never! There is that .000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance that KU will land a good coach, he’ll turn the program around, and he won’t leave for greener pastures.
@JayHawkFanToo To each their own.
KU is stil overrated at 13th. ASU picked up 5 first place votes for beating KU at Allen Fieldhouse. Crazy how beating KU gets teams instant respect.
@JayHawkFanToo Right, but his defense was fantastic and he has a killer instinct that this team desperately needs.
Dok would thrive in the low post of the high low. None of the guards can throw and entry pass like a big can.
Long season. I’m hoping the tin man finds his heart, the lion his courage, and the scarecrow in charge his intelligence.
Devonte’ has always been a little soft and he’s the unquestioned leader of the team. As Devonte’ goes so goes KU. Heck he can’t even sit on a bad night or the team goes completely to crap.
I miss Chalmers. Chalmers and Arthur on this team would be nice. Chalmers and Devonte’ on the same team would be fun.
The best thing about today’s Chiefs game? The KU game is on at the same time, so no need to watch.
Click bait. Not going to fall for it.
Oh and if you aren’t getting in good enough shape sometimes in midsummer (when I’m feeling tip top) I will do lunges while push mowing the yard. That’ll get the blood flowing.
I’m forced into shape by work. I don’t run for fun. But it’s pretty simple the more I do the better shape I get into. Diet makes a big difference. Stay well hydrated water and a little gatorade not the other way around.
I walk briskly across mostly corn fields during the summer and wheat during the winter. The terrain is uneven so ankle support is very important (less applicable to you). I generally walk around 3-5 miles per day (4 days/14) in the offseason and 12-18 per day (10-12days/14)in season. This change in activity takes a while to adjust to. Depending on how well I ate that winter...I lose 5-20 pounds over the summer and gain a ton of energy in the process.
To get into shape I just push a little. I can comfortably walk across the field or I can walk fast enough to be winded, which is what I do. I don’t push to the point of exhaustion in mile one as I’m distance training to get through the day. The distance really isn’t that great compared to what you’ll be able to do within a years time though!
Just ramp your routine up to where you are slightly out of your comfort zone to build speed and stamina. Run a little faster than yesterday or go a little further. In a little time you will be blowing away your old self. Your body takes a little time to adjust/ build muscle. But you must be consistent in running and pushing yourself or you will backtrack quickly.
@Lulufulu I think Naismith originated the game in Philadelphia. But I'm with ya bud.
The best thing I can say about Newman right now is usually he just disappears.
Preson...Preston...calling Billy Preston. Please report eligible to the practice facility immediately!
Behind Duke, MSU, and Nova right now. But Duke should’ve lost a couple of games also, so no team is perfect. Arizona could be a real problem in March also.
None of these teams are the finished product. KU will improve, but only marginally unless Preston or DeSousa is added to the roster. I’m afraid without more post talent KU will fall behind the top tier teams by the end of the season.
