Joel Freaking Embiid • Dec 27, 2016 03:46 PM

Too late in their respective carreers to start a franchise around LeBron 31 (best player hands down today but in 5 years?) or Curry 28 really. Embiid 22 is freakin' awesome, but he's gotta stay healthy.

I don't care for the NBA, so I have little clue who the best young guards/wings are - Kyrie 24 and NBA champ? Portzingis 21 ?, Wiggins 21?

The number by the name is their age.

@kjayhawks ugg. I was there.

a Little Christmas humor? jolly • Dec 26, 2016 03:22 AM

@Hawk8086 But the real advantage was not having to play KU twice as the Big 12 South later found out!

a Little Christmas humor? jolly • Dec 25, 2016 04:57 PM

@jayballer54 The round robin format started when the Big12 dropped to 10 members. The number of conference games went to 18 from 16 making the non-con slate even more important.

@joeloveshawks Exactly. I don't want the whole package, just the stroke.

Predicting next years rotation • Dec 23, 2016 05:55 PM

Most lacking -Impact wing. MJ Walker?

Personal wants - Impact point guard Duval?

Another ball handler/ shooter to open the lane-Trae Young?

Post Game Talk & Happy Holidays to All!! • Dec 23, 2016 05:51 PM

Brannen would shoot his free throws as soon as he was handed the ball. It was like he couldn't wait to have the free point added to his total. No thoughts just shooting.

Post Game Talk & Happy Holidays to All!! • Dec 23, 2016 04:02 PM

Jackson is slipping on Lunardi's big board due to a 25% 3 ball and 55% freethrowing. Time to work on the free throw stroke. Josh is the one who needs to make free throws so he can stay aggressive late in the game. KU loses a free throw shooting contest with the freshmen on the floor.

For @RockchalkinTexas • Dec 23, 2016 03:57 PM

I wasn't expecting to well up in tears for someone I hadn't personally met, but I did. I've been to four funerals of friends and family this year and was able to stay composed, but this hit me harder than expected. @RockChalkinTexas apparently holds a special place in my heart. I enjoy my bucketteers; don't any of you dare leave!

Everyone stay safe and healthy as possible this holiday season!!!!!!!!!

Post Game Talk & Happy Holidays to All!! • Dec 23, 2016 03:49 PM

There was a not so great football movie in the '90s (might've been necessary roughness) where a fumble prone player is forced to carry around a football to classes. His teammates try to strip the ball at various times forcing him to do pushups or the like if he drops the ball.

This needs to happen with Bragg. I've never seen such weak hands. Butterfingers have a stronger grip. If he could hold on to the ball and catch the ball as well as Udoka, Bragg would be a much more usable player.

Hudy work on those mitts!

I partially cut a tendon in my finger with a machete over 20 years ago. The doc sewed it together, but it's still not as limber. That finger takes all kinds of abuse though; machete's knives, and hammers oh my!

I hope Dok gets his full range of movement back!

@BeddieKU23 Withey

Bill RE: Next Season • Dec 22, 2016 03:28 PM

@BeddieKU23 I wonder if that's a product on the OAD era. It's no big deal to leave after a year. Personally I'm a lifetime Jayhawk, no worries about me transferring my loyalty.

Some Things to Say to a Comatose Husband • Dec 22, 2016 03:24 PM

I hope this is received well.

Some bad news • Dec 22, 2016 06:46 AM

Ironically, Dok had the best hands of all the big men...

Some bad news • Dec 22, 2016 02:54 AM

As for this year, I'm hoping it galvanizes the post players. Lucas no longer needs to look over his shoulder. Bragg needs to accept the responsibility of starters minutes. Lightfoot needs to make a freakin' free throw so he can play.

Some bad news • Dec 22, 2016 02:52 AM

I'm more worried about next year and the loss of experience. Dok needed this year. Watching Bragg lets me know how much work it takes.

UNLV game • Dec 22, 2016 02:47 AM

@RockChalkinTexas God bless you.

Just too funny..... • Dec 21, 2016 05:03 PM

They may have the numbers, but we cling to our guns in the Midwest. Lol

Just too funny..... • Dec 21, 2016 05:01 PM

Put simply, I don't want to switch to a purely popular vote, because I don't want to go to war with California. Another civil war does no good.

Just Askin.... • Dec 20, 2016 08:06 PM

Who's their best big? That's my vote. Of course I know nothing about UNLV except they aren't very good.

KU BB Offense • Dec 20, 2016 03:50 PM

As I recall Bill claims to use the bulk of all practices on offense. That's why you always hear him say we've practiced zone all of 10 minutes this year... I think the increased offensive production has less to do with practice time and more to do with the four guard lineup and Josh Jackson in place of Wayne Selden. Selden would disappear in 1/2 the games. Josh's presence is always felt. Josh is making the most of the 40 potiental college games he can play.

The Graham/Mason chemistry is off the charts and Josh has meshed seemlessly. If Vick can play to his potiental more often and a big man emerges the Jayhawks will be unstoppable.

Just too funny..... • Dec 20, 2016 03:01 PM

@KUSTEVE I told my summer interns that voting didn't matter as much as they think. It's all up to the electoral college. One kids head nearly exploded in disbelief (his eyes are open now). Not all on the electoral college have to vote for candidate that won the vote count. I seriously doubt enough will change their vote to swing an election, but it's a strange fact.

I appreciate what the electoral college is supposed to do: give a voice to less populated areas. However, there doesn't actually need to be an electoral college, just the votes/points they represent as voted by the public. No need for more intervention and the corruption that goes with it. A representative republic already limits its peoples input enough!

Two philosophies at work. I'm curious who would you take to start your team? My vote is for Embiid, (but you can't upvote your own post.)

HEY/anyone know? • Dec 20, 2016 02:46 PM

@jayballer54 did search the web for his answer and got it! Kinda like calling KU info and asking random info from them. No biggie, asked answered...next.

I actually watched and Texas was in way over their head that night. I don't know how Texas and Stanford were all year, but that night Stanford was clearly better.

2018 Crootin Thread • Dec 20, 2016 04:05 AM

What about MJ Walker? Any chance Norm sways him to KU from a strong Maryland lean? He'd slot right into the 3 next year.

HEY/anyone know? • Dec 19, 2016 08:17 PM

Stanford whooped Texas.

Is This For Real? • Dec 19, 2016 02:44 PM

The Sprint Center games can be included in the home win streak, but if KU losses there they can throw out all the Sprint Center games and just count the Allen Fieldhouse games. They are a way of padding numbers without consequence.

Mildly annoying:
Phog Allen Fieldhouse

Historic Allen Fieldhouse

Self's barn on the plains

Allen freakin Fieldhouse

Who cares, just win 'em all!?!

Alan Thicke • Dec 16, 2016 02:34 PM

Sorry I'm slow.

The first nine minutes are Alan Thicke's last interview on the Dan LeBatard show. He's a riot!

This is a montage of Alan Thicke's appearances on the Dan LeBatard show. Starts at about 4 1/2 minutes in.

Bill RE: Next Season • Dec 16, 2016 02:03 PM

@drgnslayr Duke won it with Fr Tyus Jones. It's becoming more common as the talented kids bolt for the NBA.

Personally I'd take both players. Why not? I'm sure Bill could get them all on the court, esp. if the 4-1 looks good this year.

Really Seattle.... • Dec 16, 2016 01:49 PM

@brooksmd Truly offensive, hurt my eyes. A good chunk of the crowd was wearing that color as well! Seattle won because the LA Rams couldn't look at them to play defense.

EX-3PT UPDATE • Dec 14, 2016 03:42 PM

You need your best guys on the floor in March. How do you get into shape to pace/play 35+ minutes, in quick turn around March games, if you don't do it during the season? You've gotta tear yourself down to build yourself up better. The trick is to stay healthy - stop hitting the floor on every layup attemp Frank!!! KU NEEDS YOU!!!

EX-3PT UPDATE • Dec 14, 2016 03:27 PM

Luke Kennard (Duke) has played the 11th most minutes of any basket ball player. He's having the best year of his life.

Ballers wanna play. You can't keep Mason off the court.

ESPN Power Rankings- KU #2 • Dec 13, 2016 03:06 PM

It'd be nice to have Withey back there cleaning things up for the guards. Not so nice for the other team, but I'd like it! A little Withey stank face (attitude) would go a long way for our current bigs.

Texas is... Bad. • Dec 13, 2016 03:04 PM

@ralster At least you got to watch KU beat WSU in all but the '87 regular season matchup in the 80's I remember watching the '93 game and thinking that this series needs to die. KU can beat up on any minor (mid-major is too much credit) school they want.
