For anyone that hasn’t seen, the report on last weekends NFL refs is out. The no call on MVS pass interference was deemed correct. The throw was considered uncatchable since it was to MVS and he was just going to drop it anyway.
Curious. Fake news? Suspended for a shove that didn’t get him ejected from the game? Awfully specific timeframe for an injury.
Give Huggins a free year of recruiting and he has demonstrated the ability to really put together a class.
Will be hard on Lawrence’s game day economy. Bummer, but it’s the cost of business.
It seems like a 1,1,3,3,5 lineup this year.
@nuleafjhawk Furphy is a ridiculous name. It sounds completely fake, like something a bad comedian would come up with.
Ingram would take KJs minutes. It would be nice to have more depth, but it would come at a cost. Lack of guard depth is more of an issue currently, thanks Arterio. Parker has been a good backup 5, lacks size, but has plenty of hustle.
@KirkIsMyHinrich shudder
Swap out Elmarko for Devonte Graham and wow - I think that’s the expectations we all have for the poor young fellow - JR level Graham.
Bobby knight would be proud - shot fake reference
@kjayhawks Have you ever watch Dick “Night Train” Lane highlights? I know it’s defense, but good grief those clothesline tackles and ball hawking skills were amazing.
@wissox add Bo Jackson to your list.
I always wonder what Danny could’ve done in the NBA with healthy knees.
Hard to look good when guys drop passes that hit them in both hands. Week 1 Mahomes INT loses game - that hit Toney perfectly. Against the iggles Watson dropped a 4th down pass that hit him squarely in his mitts, after MVS dropped a perfect bomb a few plays earlier. - that’s the difference between running away from the field to being a game back.
Look at how good Burrow’s backup looked tonight with all those weapons!!! Now imagine KC without Mahomes. 😱
Fans are funny. Game day chat really reveals the complete lack of confidence in themselves and their team as every insecurity they have is laid bare at the foot of bball/football teams. I used to think it was about the team and I might learn something about scheme, plays, personnel, coaching that was leading to the problems we see. Instead all I hear fan insecurity even after rooting for a championship team. Unless the team crushes your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women in the first quarter then all hope is lost. lol. Enjoy the ride! it all ends the same for all of us a nice dirt nap.
3rd string QB for FSU? Probably had something to do with the decision. I’m sure if KU had JD playing healthy for the last few games the highlights rack up and KU gets bumped up to a slightly better bowl with the same record. Perception matters even if it’s wrong.
@jayballer67 said in Chiefs season long game thread:
Kelce and Pat can't do it by themselves - -they need help . Valdez was better then this at Gb, not great but better then now. - -. KC but is beat up , but yet you want beat up -- look at Gb injury report it's insane -- I think KC will be fine, but they do have some problems on offense with the receivers that need addressed or they are not making any superbowl.
MVS had one of his better statistical years last year. He is terrible now. Historically he has sucked as well - just above 50% on his career catch rate.
No doubt GB is beat up. That skating rink is wretched to play on, it’s what caused a bunch of KC’s current injuries. It’s a home field advantage to have people get injured when you’re at a talent disadvantage, so they won’t fix it (just add heat to the grass with water lines to soften the surface), even if it costs them a few players too.
The last 6 games starting with the GB game have every single opponent getting more rest than the Chiefs. That’s not the best. The Bills are coming off their bye and pissed. Should be a good game.
@rockchalkjayhawk I blame Veach for the overpay on Taylor and the lack of WR options. But Chris Jones is just as culpable. If Orlando Brown signs for the same deal he got at cinci or Chris Jones shows up or signs long term deal he was offered, the chiefs have cap space to sign Hopkins and this mess is behind us. Two selfish players and a miscalculation by the GM has taken a Super Bowl winning team to a team that is likely to get bounced in the afc championship game. (If the playoffs started today I believe the chiefs would play Pittsburg and then Miami - very winnable games)
@rockchalkjayhawk If it makes you feel better the team that just got the biggest win of their year only got to hear about terrible reffing in the post game on tv. Love is only under contract for the rest of the year, so they’ve got to navigate that this offseason. I am glad they got this moment. Now let’s hope the Chiefs figure out their WRs after Rice!
Same record as the Hawks. Both teams need to win out now!
@bskeet Pacheco should have kept his cool. Silly to punch someone wearing a helmet. MVS gives great piggyback rides! Everyone wants one it appears. Kelce’s back was chilly so it was nice of that GB defender to warm it up in the end zone!
Oh well. Should’ve played a cleaner game.
Nagy and Embree suck. WR can’t catch.
Damn
Will the Chiefs make it thru two straight games without the opponent having a penalty accepted on them?
That D will travel
There are always scalpers nearby if you don’t want to pay fees, but that opens a whole other can of worms.
@Zabudda yup. KU won, Bill made the right decisions. I don’t trust Jamari yet either, but I love his hustle. Hustle really pays off against less talent, not as well coached teams. But it isn’t enough against top tier teams. The three freshmen all bring something to the table. I hope they stick around long enough to watch them develop.
A big 12 member - Houston
Jamari played the last 5 seconds or so of the game. Just not in Bill’s circle of trust yet. Bill try’s to protect guys from being exposed, sometimes a little too much.
After the break we will know exactly what the team will be going forward. There is always a big leap forward in cohesion both on offense and defense. The playbook opens up more and options on various movements begin to make sense to the new guys. Help side defense will vastly improve as well. Switching on D is a new concept to most as Dan eluded to in his post game interview (they don’t see that much if at all), so that will improve as well. If the defensive intensity they demonstrated against UConn is sustainable for 6 games in march, it’s over folks.
@wissox Then the player - no I don’t think that bothered us any. 😂 Dan was being more honest, or dude was completely unaware that he was the only person making plays for UConn.

There was a Jamari sighting!!!
I’m not sure Hunter is fast enough to foul there. Lol
Jay can be knowledgeable and enjoyable to listen to…when he isn’t actively rooting against your team.
Self is calmer than me. No bench options yet. Damnit.
GD
Rainbow three was pretty level!
How is that a shooting foul and kj fould on a dunk wasn’t? lol someone tell the refs we are the home team!

Let Bilas give 12 a band aide for his pussy

Nic must not be trusted by Coach
Or me…
I wish Harris would put some pressure on them. Walking the ball up too often. - prolly partially due to Hunter, but push it to put pressure on them. Doesn’t mean you have to shoot.
Wow. Wish the crowd would pump some posit e energy right now. The team doesn’t need this nervous nelly soundtrack
Career high. Need to rattle him. Get in his grill. Deny him the ball. Do something a little different.
