Well actually maybe not true. - -KU only has 79 offensive rebounds for the entire year. - -Hunter has 27 of those and no other Jay Hawk has more then 9 offensive rebounds on the year. We just suck on the offensive boards total
I looked at the stats, if Furphy played equal minutes to Hunter, Johnny would be 2nd by a couple boards on the year 2.4 per game at 36 minutes. That’s good for a guard. KJ is a terrible rebounder for a “post” player. McCullar should be better with his length and basketball IQ. Harris is used as a safety, maybe most are being used that way?
One and done trips are killer when the other team just keeps getting rebounds and shooting until it goes in. Sucks because rebounding is 90% effort.

@kjayhawks Dont fall into the same trap as your mooching customers of undervaluing the others service. That advice took 100s of thousands of dollars of education and 10s of thousands of hours of putting it into practice to come to by.
I have a friend who’s cousins expect him to provide them with a half of beef every year because he has the family farm. Farmers are expected to let people pick all the produce they want for free (some want it delivered!).
My uncle had a construction business, no one wants to pay for what’s even on the estimate let alone any issues you run into.
It’s crazy. Some people only use half their brain at best it seems. Back to my only real pet peeve - stupid people.

They are the only newcomer I’m pumped about. The rest don’t do much for me regardless of ranking. - I had grandparents that were UofA fans before they passed, so that’s why they rank - it’s personal not national relevance.
@nuleafjhawk lol I read that as not happy with the coffee maker dripping. The carafe’s all drip depending on how you handle them.
Another pet peeve - the smell of cold coffee, and coffee breath. Stuff stinks (I’m not much of a coffee drinker). Fresh brewing coffee smells great though.
@kjayhawks People ask me for free services all the time, some reciprocate. My neighbors asked me for advice for years, in turn lately I’ve been asking her for advice when needed. - I’m a crop consultant and he farms, his wife is a doctor. Others give back in different ways - continued business is one. Keep the wife happy and the husband has a much harder time finding fault in my work. lol. But mostly I agree with you that people don’t think about the fact that is how we earn our living.

Looking at the ugly ass boneyard rendering for the stadium and thinking maybe they should’ve just left it the way it was. Is it too late to take votes on the stadium plans like they did the ugly license plates Kansas was going to pick? Was there only one design to chose from? I get excited when I see the demo, then I see the rendering and get reminded this is KU football. Nothing goes well, even the new stadium build is a laughing stock. Ugg

I know the stadiums name, but the performances in there have been a sad way to memorialize anything. You can point to individual success and a couple bowl years, but it’s a pretty sorry 123 year history we have on the gridiron. That should ruffle your feathers. It’s unacceptable and hopefully Lance is the one to right the ship.

@nuleafjhawk If you have room, I’d suggest getting a commercial Bunn coffee maker. They work great, but are a bit more than $150. Best thing I got my wife last Christmas. (I don’t drink coffee often).

@BShark Offense doesn’t pass the the test. But the sample size is small. A half dozen games into conference the modeling should get better and the team closer to the finished product.

@kjayhawks yup. Only 34 million in cap space with 34 players signed. Cut MVS to free up 10?million with a 4million dead cap I believe. Then you need 20 guys for the 53 + the practice squad with 44million to play with. Makes hitting on draft picks crucial. That kstate turd needs polished up or that was a huge waste of a first round pick.
@kjayhawks I’m pretty excited about Wayna Morris setting over the injured Smith! Taylor is good at pass pro, but Collinsworth put a hit on him the first game and it’s had year long repercussions. If those two can be the tackles going forward that frees up draft capital for a WR!!! Or a Chris Jones replacement 😒 (just the though of losing Chris makes me sad) in the first round.

@stoptheflop That offense would struggle to score in the double digits without Mahomes. Those receivers are trash. Pacheco is above average, but can’t carry the team (and is injured for trying). Veach has neglected the receiver position for years, now it’s caught up with them. - let’s play revisionist history here - Toney catches the balls thrown his way in week one - chiefs are now 9-3. MVS doesn’t drop that perfectly placed bomb against the eagles - 10-2. Now eliminate half the drops - the only category the WR lead the league in - give those yards to Mahomes, take away 1-2 interceptions that good receivers would have snagged. Skyy Moore ran the wrong route on a recent Mahomes interception (unfortunately not the only miscue) - the Chiefs would be in first place of the AFC by a game with the best record in the NFL and Mahomes would be leading the MVP race.
This is Veach’s fault for neglecting the strength of the team (passing offense) to try and build up a weakness (defense) and had made the team mediocre as a result. I say lean into your strengths and try to patch up your weakness instead of the other way around.
A positive stat to put Mahomes greatness in perspective - Patrick Mahomes' . 583 winning % in games when he is losing by 10, is ranked 41st out of 178 quarterbacks in win % with their win rates being across all games. ie If Mahomes spotted the other team 10 points he would still by the 41st most winning QB of all time.
Mahomes' win rate when losing by 10 is equal to Joe Burrows overall win rate, and better than HOFers Troy Aikman, Kurt Warner, and Warren Moon's overall win %.

@nuleafjhawk It’s more fun if you can get someone to comp your meals, then you can just enjoy it. I had a wonderful Kobe steak at one of the casino restaurants with a lousy lobster tail and a glass of vino for nothing. Tasted wonderful. Would not have tasted so great if I had to foot the 250 a plate dinner though (and that was 10 years ago prices). It’s too expensive, but all entertainment money by definition is wasted funds anyway.
Mike Trout + Ohtani and they won nothing. Angels organization is trash, but it highlights the value any single player brings to the table. It takes a team. - pay attention salary cap sport players (57 million cap hit for Mahomes next season. Ouch!)

It looks like the angles two way star is about to sign a 600 million dollar contract. Seems like a raw deal to me. Probably ok if all you care about is wins and losses, but he doesn’t interact with fans, won’t even comment on his “recruitment”. Where is the value? Does he have a huge following? I’d be upset if the Royals blew their budget on a player like that. No one can carry a team by himself (damn you bumgarner) and he doesn’t add much off the field. I guess his historic production is adequate to generate enough interest to create the treasure required to pay him? Pretty wild!
Did you find tickets? There will not be cheap tickets to see KU play Mizzourah, but there are no bad seats (just some are better than others lol). Anything from free throw line to free throw line is ideal. The closer the better, but I’ve sat in the corner bleachers and had a blast as well!
