Welcome Nick Timberlake! • Apr 20, 2023 03:55 PM

@BShark Oh boy. It’s gonna be one of those years huh? Where Bill leans on his security blanket players that don’t mess up while getting killed by athletic teams. Ugg. Hope I’m wrong. DaJuan deserves better.

Did well at the lower level. Projects as a solid role player 6/7 guy up. Hope he doesn’t get too many minutes unless my expectations are wildly off.

Is he better than Bobby or Joe?

NFL Draft - 2023 • Apr 19, 2023 07:08 PM

Zay Flowers (wr) is in Texas working out with Mahomes for a pre-draft evaluation. He would be a fine addition, but it’s unlikely he’s available at pick 31. Smoke screen or real eval?

NFL Draft - 2023 • Apr 19, 2023 01:29 PM

@AsadZ KSU de FAU. 😂 great abbreviation given the end of bball season.

NFL Draft - 2023 • Apr 19, 2023 03:21 AM

If Bjian Robinson rb from Texas fell and the chiefs drafted him heads would explode! He would be dynamic, but I’m hoping one of the top offensive tackle prospects falls low enough to snag. There doesnt appear to be much day one playable ot talent this draft. DL and WR in round 2/3 best player available.

Anton Harrison or Dawand Jones at 31
DE is a strong possibility as well.
WR -Tillman, AT Perry, ?

Chiefs Draft • Apr 18, 2023 09:06 PM

@AsadZ beuchel is a fun camp story, but I really don’t want to see him play meaningful minutes. To be fair I don’t want to see anyone but Mahomes play meaningful minutes.

I absolutely loved Jacque as our point guard. He was fantastic. Probably still my favorite pg.

LOL, had a frozen Digiorno's for Easter dinner, but it was because we're at the beach in Florida and who really wants to spend time in the kitchen when we're doing this for the first time in my life?

Have fun!!! Soak it up, worst life decision I ever made was coming home from the beach on my honey moon. Had nothing to come back to, why’d I return?!?

As for Easter — We went to a rockin’ birthday party with about 80 people!!! - lol my grandmothers 90th birthday 🥳

Reggie Miller or Adam Morrison? That is the question GMs must answer. Good luck!

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME MUTTERINGS • Apr 05, 2023 04:07 PM

@nuleafjhawk losers don’t win mvp. Of course it was free throws, but Lee’s shot was going in, which would’ve made the woeful free throw shooting another point for KU absolute dominance that season. As it is it just leads to KU fans crying.

Bill Self Presser Wednesday Morning • Apr 05, 2023 01:55 PM

@wissox I despise the cold - I work outdoors and it’s windy as all get out in western Kansas. - our cattle start calving about January 15 and are finishing up now. So I get to stomp around in the wheat fields during the days for my regular job, then babysit the momma cows at night if the weather is bad.

I don’t mind 100 degree weather, we almost always have a breeze and low humidity. Actually I can’t wait for the dog days of summer- I love it. 14 hour work days - everyone calling you asking what to do, all the action, heat, excitement happens for me in the summer.

KU Offseason Chef Bill Cooking Thread • Apr 05, 2023 01:42 PM

@AsadZ yeah, but the massholes. Why is Boston so racist? That I can’t figure out. There is always some drunk white guy yelling racist epithets at ball games. It’s so common it’s become cliche. It’s like the KState Tourette’s that make them chant f KU at random events - I’d wager a sizable sum the f ku chant has been heard at weddings. Everywhere has its faults.

Bill Self Presser Wednesday Morning • Apr 05, 2023 01:30 PM

@wissox I really only get to travel in January. I have family that live up there - probably will never visit. It sounds absolutely horrible in January - they’re insane and like to ice fish, play hockey - I head south when the opportunity strikes. Global warming is too slow.

Bill Self Presser Wednesday Morning • Apr 05, 2023 01:18 PM

@dylans

I found zero good food in Florida.

Now for Cali - muscle beach in Venice is where I’ve been - crazy paranoid people who constantly heckled me over my Chiefs hat - that part actually led to some fun conversations when I didn’t return the grief and instead gave a eulogy for the Raiders. The water is cold and the sand is rough and yellow. Millions of folks many trying to sell you something. Traffic is terrible and the air is dirty. Decent food.

Hawaii - Honolulu has a couple nice beach - super crowded. Cool, clear water. Too cold for me if the wind blew or the daytime temps took a dip because of rain. Awesome shrimp at a couple good trucks. Everything is wildly overpriced even at the px. The big island was far less crowded, but we skipped the beaches. I hear Maui is nice - never been. Is this your stop @mayjay ?

Now Negril Jamaica. That is a great do absolutely nothing place - as close to zero culture things to do as you get. Warm crystal clear blue water, white sand beaches, mostly friendly people. An unfortunate amount of people hocking goods, but they get you figured out after a few days and only bring you what you want - like fresh squeezed orange juice - it’s delicious, but don’t let them fool you it’s half sugar water. Great sea food - lobster pizza is great if you get a chance. Fun loving vibe - music is in the air, drinks are in hand. Got stuck here during 9/11 and the people were so willing to help us strangers out in any way - it was truly refreshing reminded me of home as opposed to the treatment you get in resort town or bigger city. Bigger blend of nationalities than any of the other places I listed - it’s an international vacation destination. Oh yeah did I mention everything is reasonably priced as long as you don’t look like an idiot American who needs fleeced.

Those beaches are all great to visit, but the Kansas prairie is home.

Bill Self Presser Wednesday Morning • Apr 05, 2023 12:54 PM

@Jethro fwiw They are the same town in my mind like Overland Park is to KC. Flew into Sarasota stayed on Anna Marie island. Really meant Tampa Bay the body of water not the city which is what Sarasota sits on. Never actually went to Tampa - anywhere in the mainland pales in comparison to the key islands - even the lesser known ones. Anna Marie island has Tampa bay on one side and the gulf on the other. White sand beaches. Saw dolphins and manatees every day. People were ok - just too many of them.

Jalen wins another honor • Apr 05, 2023 12:50 PM

@bskeet More like Sherron Collins, I suppose. Great support player on a championship team. Not good enough to carry the team the next year with limited help.

Edit - Wilson is a stud, just not Superman. I mean no disrespect.

@approxinfinity Hack Bill's phone/tv/radio/whatever and tell him to have his team practice free throws.

That reminds me of a KU game 15-18 years ago when someone locally broke into the feed and broadcasted over the game, “help, I’m stuck in the TV aaah!” I laughed pretty hard. - probably had been imbibing

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME MUTTERINGS • Apr 04, 2023 06:02 PM

Ehh good coaching will take teams to the final four that don’t belong. Sometimes players pick bad times to lose their brains and hit Michigan players in theirs. Sometimes shots don’t fall. Sometimes Hakim Warrick comes flying in and blocks a three from Lee that was going in. Generational players get hurt and you lose to Stanford. Glenn Robinson decides to go super nova. Wayne Simeon misses an automatic 15 footer. -Mario and Sherron burry threes while in desperation mode. A very average team has a Remmy microwave and mediocre competition. 💩 happens. The tournament is a glorified beauty pageant. Too random. Instead of further expansion it should go to double elimination after the first round. - would give a truer champion and generate more dollars - more games and better competition late in the tournament.

Bill Self Presser Wednesday Morning • Apr 04, 2023 05:49 PM

@BShark I live in Kansas and have visited the southern end of both US coasts. Florida is much more aligned with Midwest ideology vs Cali. I get why an Oklahoma boy living in Kansas would like a vacation home in Florida.

Bill Self Presser Wednesday Morning • Apr 04, 2023 02:36 AM

If anything I’d say his timing is late - 4 years ago he could’ve had that Florida home for half that price. 😂 all is well…I hope. 😳

KU Ladies tourney time • Apr 02, 2023 05:13 PM

Ehh they could slide it into one of the two girls conference champions banners. The guys still proudly display a Missouri valley champs banner. Not much red in the rafters - the girls aren’t very good and never have been.

KU Ladies tourney time • Apr 02, 2023 02:14 PM

@cragarhawk If it was the men’s team I’d fully agree. In fact I would be kinda ticked they didn’t decline the invite.

KU Ladies tourney time • Apr 02, 2023 02:13 PM

@cragarhawk They don’t have the same history nor standard as the men’s team. They have banners for conference championships and those mean even less.

KU Ladies tourney time • Apr 02, 2023 01:14 PM

@cragarhawk because the KU women’s team has such a storied history? - do they have a single post season banner?

Welcome Elmarko Jackson! • Mar 28, 2023 03:20 PM

@Kcmatt7 yup all KU homers. A couple bordering on trolls, but it’s just because their expectations are so high that they lose sight of reality. They constantly tear down the team looking for flaws to validate their fears, completely unable to enjoy the moment. I almost feel sad for them.
