This is a resume that might get your jersey retired elsewhere, but why is Marcus even eligible for Allen’s rafters? He didn’t accomplish anything, two of his teams have the most disappointing losses in KU tournament history. He wasn’t 1st team all America. He wasn’t ncaa tournament MOP. He wasn’t anything special other than a Jayhawk. This is a big disappointment that the standards have been lowered so.

Morris earned Consensus All-America second-team honors and the Big 12 Player of the Year nod following his junior season in 2011, when he averaged 17 points and eight rebounds per game in 38 games for the Jayhawks.

The Philadelphia native also led the Jayhawks to the 2011 Big 12 Tournament title that season, earning Most Outstanding Player honors. Two weeks later, he landed on the NCAA Tournament Southwest Regional all-tournament team after helping lead Kansas to the Elite Eight.

Morris’ 1,371 career points rank 29th on the KU career scoring list, and his 676 rebounds tie him for 19th with Paul Pierce. He led KU in scoring in 2010-11, and his 654 points that season rank 15th on KU’s single-season scoring list.

What a joke. I didn’t even like Aaron Miles game, but he’s #1 on KU’s all time assist list and #2 in steals and led KU to 2 final fours. That’s a better resume than Marcus, but Miles still shouldn’t have his jersey retired.

Just wrong to cheapen the rafters, but why not? Maybe Adidas had Snoop tell Bill to do it.

I’d sure consider Aaron Miles though.

I believe that’s only for injury that you can play and then redshirt. I’m pretty sure if Mitch plays in one game he burns the redshirt.

Gonzaga’s non-con sos surprised me. A bunch of crap + Michigan, UNC, and Arizona. KU’s didn’t.

@Crimsonorblue22 No why? Baylor being ranked #1 is good for the Big12. Winning the Big12 isn’t the main goal for KU, but if Kansas wins out they win/tie any way. Plus it puts the bulls eye on them and allows KU ranked #2/3 to be the underdog 😝

@BShark They have Williams under contract for a couple more years or I’d say draft a running back. That’s the best value, a running back on his rookie deal before he gets worn out and over paid.

No luck involved there. Lol The 97 team is the championship that got away. The other teams were deeply flawed in some way. That squad picking up its second loss of the year to Arizona still makes me feel ill.

The biggest recent disappointment to me was Perry’s senior season - I had been waiting for a couple years for that team to come together and fully expected them to win it all. KU still hasn’t fielded as good of a team since.

9 assists that early is impressive! 1/3 of his teams shots too, so still a ball hog. Lol

I doubt Dave starts this year after his suspension. Braun really seized the opportunity.

At this point the possibility of Wilson playing a 5th year is more enticing to me than what his hobbled, behind schedule self could bring this year. However, I thought Ochai should’ve saved his red-shirt last year too and he tore it up. 🤷‍♂️
