Read an article today from Athlon sports. - -they list ALL 130 projected starting QB'S in College football for the upcoming year. Seen this first off the LJW -then went to Athlons directly.

In the Article they have Bender rated as the 91st out of 130. some of the some what notable Schools they had him ranked above were: Michigan St -- Iowa - - Oregon St - -Cinn - -Maryland - - Illn - - California- - -Fresno St - -Southern Miss - - -& Minnesota. Those were some of the more notable that I seen they had him ranked above.

On an encouraging note makes me feel some what better now Keegan had him ranked as the 6th best QB in the Big 12 out of the 10.
Better then: Buechek - Texas, - - -Hill- TCU- - -, Smith- Baylor- - -& Park- ? dam had the School forgot to write it down.

But feel a little better cause -yes indeed he was beaten out of his starting QB by Luke Folk at his school before going JC - BUT Athlon has Folk as the 8th best QB in the Nation * throwing for over 4,000 yds back to back. So ya I could see why he would be hard to beat out, doesn't mean Bender is some piece of garbage right? - -Keegan said pretty accurate in the spring game so not all is lost- - although still like our boy from last year too. -- -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

At this point and stage with the way recruiting goes these days, as long as they mention KU or KU mentions them, anymore I wouldn't count any possibility out.

The way kids play this whole recruiting process out anymore, the pub, and the way these 17-18 yr old kids change their minds about where they are going as about as quickly if not faster then a woman trying to decide which dress to wear. - -It's more like never say never until commitment day and NOW as much as we are now seeing a trend of asking for releases of LOL'S until they sign that letter and are o campus - -ANYTHING POSSIBLE - - likely - -no - -possible - -yes. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@approxinfinity His injury from last year is EXACTLY my reasoning for staying two seasons yet to come, this year then next. - He was in able to do almost anything and a lot of that had to do with conditioning, he wasn't able to lift really a whole lot of nothing. - -He was already raw when he came in -last year's inury did nothing to improve his development. - Developmental wise he really is not that much further along then last year. - -He has along ways to go for the NBA at this point. Sure the potential is there, but still so much to learn -- offensively and defensively. Right now well last year he couldn't stay on the floor because of foul trouble - -Well? - - what has he done to improve his defense?- - Very limited game experience- -he has yet to develop in so many ways

He would have to improve in so many ways to be at the NBA level right now. - -Did you notice how many under classman returned and with drew from the NBA combine this year? - - -73! ! - -73 ! ! ! - and those were Soph and Jr's loaded with college game experience as good or even better then Doke and the NBA telling them to go back to school. He would have to have a MONSTEROUS season to think about going after this one year. - -Not saying he won't be good Or he isn't good, BUT big difference between being Good College and Good NBA.

All Doke has to do is sit back and look at all these guys that left to early and see where they are at now. - -Ya, he has TWO yrs here, no doubt in my mind. - If he does go - -then I'm sorry - he IS NOT READY right now no offensive game other then a dunk - - needs to develop some kind of shot any shot with some consistency, needs work on the defensive end for the NBA. - -just to much risk for him at this point. - -Again a lot of players at least as good as him with all kinds of playing experience that the NBA told to return to school - -and they did. Your right. I don't really see any gain from playing them. Like you say now they got Porter and a couple of others they think they instant world beaters thumpin their chest. Now don't get me wrong, Are they going to be good?- - Ya they got a chance , BUT am I scared of us playing them because of who they got? - - HELL NO. - - I just think that now that they MAY have a decent season, they want to take their limited chance of upsetting us so they could talk all kinds of smack. That is their thinking.

Again in a way I WOULD kind of like to watch us play them again - -beat that ass again , reminding them they best stay on the porch cause they sure the hell ain't dancing with the big boys. I also wouldn't mind playing them because as far as I'm concerned w have no close rival. - I myself do not consider K-State a rivalry that much any longer. For it to be a rival you have to win some - -more then once in a blue moon - -I mean seriously actually I have always considered Mizzery more of a rival then K-Suck, seem like more hated, more intense, I can get fired up more. - -K-State is almost anymore a fore gone conclusion it's a W. - -that's a rivalry? - -don't think so.

So in certain aspects - -Ya I wouldn't have any problem playing them again -isn't gonna happen I don't believe Coach Self has been pretty clear about that, but I think it's more then Coach Self I think maybe the conference as a whole isn't interested. Well, here is what I'm thinking. What I don't understand is why we continue to talk about this? This is a subject this has been talked about till it's been drug into the ground. My take on this, it's over , it's the past. We can't change the past, things that happened in the pas is the past. It's time to move on. This incident with LaGerald is history. If like you say the school (KU ) has him on probation - -then this is what it is, he is dealing with bad decisions he made. He is now paying for that through his probation & he very well could be paying on anything that the legal system has given him. Again the thing is, the past is the past. You and or I have no say we are not the Judge -Jury - Or Convictioner. The Legal system has had it's say in this. It's time to move on to more positive things about the team - -the players.

@BShark I'm not really so sure. - -You know what? I'm not so sure but what that doesn't turn out to be DeVonte this year. The last couple of years he been kind of like the complimentary player with Frank and Josh last year. This year his Senior year others looking to him this year more as the leader, Wouldn't surprise me if he did step up and be that one willing to hit or take that key crucial shot.

He at times disappeared last year BUT was it because he is just that way OR is it because he knew there was others that could/would take it when needed? - -Josh was the closest we have had to a true Alpha for some time, Frank to a some what lesser degree. Now it's Devonte turn to be the leader, I think the guys will look to him to fulfill that role, and I think he might just do that.

Also to a some what lesser maybe not even lesser I think maybe Newman has that kind of make up that take charge/take over a game type of attitude, those would be my guesses, could be wrong but then again - -I think this will be Devonte team - -time will tell. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

The our boys KY baseball team won the opening game in the BIG 12 tourney - -Beat Co-Champ TCU 7-3. So they in the winners bracket, will play the winner of Texas -OU - -we beat both of them this year, we can play with them - -either one of them.
