Like has been mentioned here, I really hated it when e had fans starting that over rated thing -just not good look , were better then that. The Rock Chalk was awesome , first time it had REALLY came out to where you could hear it really well & then we have this dam over rated - -I hate that. Houston is a dam good team , not really sure that they was over rated. They just got beat by the better team - -bad day for them-oh well that's all

So the question becmes , do w have Johnyy for one or two more years? -I think one more --his Soph then if he keeps developing like he is will be a nice NBA draft pick

A game like today is when KU can be really scary. It's almost like nobody is ging KU any chance to win this game - - on our home floor. I will tell you Houston people are saying oh KU atmosphere won't be anything they haven't seen/heard before. Hell they thought BYU was loud - -they have no idea what these guys are walking into. Well this isn't good , discouraging news Today is time to break this. - -Ku & Coach Self is 0 -6 when we play teams ranked # 1 in Ken Pom - -time to put a stop to that

A couple of things sounds simple -- but harder then it sounds. Think pretty basic - -KU just has to hold their on the Boards - -Hunter - -KJ- - -Furphy - -& Kevin have to compete like never before.
Houston's biggest players who see many minutes is 6'7 - - Roberts & Tugler. -- BUT Houston rash's the offensive boards thinks every loose ball belongs to them , -- just GOT TO REBOUND.

Houston , does not share the ball very well only 13 assists per game. - -They don't shoot the ball very well 43.6 Fg - -terrible ft % 67.8 - - -& shoot 35.2 % from the 3Pt - -BUT two things they do really well- --crash the boards - and turn you over extreme defensive pressure - -DeJuan has to take care of the ball -be solid , they double ball screens aggressive

THREE things to a win - -Take care of the ball , REBOUND & get out and run , Houston loves to play slow I think they said like 320th in defensive tempo. - -don't let Houston dictate tempo - -got to go - -run

Just announced on gameday - Game day will be at the Phog next Saturday against Baylor

Anything on his history ? - -Decent ? with defenses? - -hope he can improve us some

Here is a little tid bit of info/history stat I saw tonight. Coach Self is 13-0 in top 10 match ups when KU is the lower ranked team.

Went to Houston message Board , Coach Sampson was pretty complimentary in his weekly Coach's show. Was asked about how do you prepare your guys for a game like this with the atmosphere ? His response was - - you don't. He said you just have to play through it or try. Said he had Coached games in Allen before and said I guarantee you at some point during the game tomorrow it's going to sound like a 747 taking off from the back of that building.

He said KU has been the premier Basketball program for the last 25 years or so, also mentioned when you play KU they have not ONE All American , but KU has TWO all Americans on the floor.
Stated also that KJ Adams was vey under rated and that the kid is just a winner

Talked about how the KU fans were very knowledigble , and how they can help during games. - Guys very complimentary, just hope our guys don't read into that and get to full of themselves , this game is going to be a war. -We are 2.5 underdog right now. When was the last time we were a underdog on our home floor. I think the guys will be juiced- - we KNOW the FOG is going to be insane. We just can't afford a lot of sill turnovers and can't afford any long extended scoring droughts. - -We are going to have to have Juan post some points tomorrow, w are going to need all hands on deck.

One thing maybe i our favor is Houston not the best shooting fg's and have had tendency to have scoring droughts of their own, we have to take full advantage of that. -- They are really strong in offensive rebounding so we have to get after the boards hard.- - No live ball turnovers, just a must. - -One bad thing for us is they are the best at opposition holding them down on two point fg

Bring the A game -- -fans/students get rowdy, play hard and take our chances - - just can't lose on your home floor in this league.- - Let's get the W tomorrow - -I'm stoked- --- -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Not much, they are that bad. Individually, Elmarko making a few shots and playing free with confidence was huge. When he's engaged you see his immense potential. Perhaps we are slowly starting to see the benefits of Furphy in the starting lineup. I thought Juan had a good game as well, he stepped up on both ends and looked a bit quicker then seen in recent weeks.

Hey here is some eye popping stats for ya. - -K/State / Okla - -K/State made their first field goal with 10:30 to go in the first half. - - -1-12 - -from the three & - Now 5-23 over all and with like 2 minutes to go losing to Oklahoma 27-14

TCU / Tex Tech pretty good. - -Tech was up 27-16- -then TCU hits them with a 24-9 run up - -- 40-36 at the half

Teams in this league get beat up - - bruised - - battered - -curb stomped - - run over - - just flat ass ol Country whoopins, ,fans get frustrated - -mad - - upset - -when their team they don't think is playing wll - -having a bad year -- - playing really crappy ball. - -Well there is a reason for that - -the Reason ? - -this league is just fricken good - -REALLY , REALLY GOOD.

Perfect examples to name a couple : - -KU goes on the road and gets beat by UCF by 5 at UCF - people think - DAM are you Serious ? - This is the same team that KSU mauled by 22 points in Manhattan. Then UCF turns around and beats Texas - -@ Texas -Crazy

Then you have Ku going in to Stillwater and just knocking the Dog doo out of Okie State by what 24 ? - -then People say well it was Okie State - -- -that game was a given right ? -- -Wrong.
This same Okie State that KU Barn stomped on Okie's home floor , they in turn then turn around and go to Manhattan an take K/State team into overtime before losing on K/States home floor. See that's just two examples on this league.

Perfect example of how fricken hard this League is , KU just picked up their FOURTH loss of the Season and we are still ranked in the top ten. -So tell me again how easy this league is - - goes to show what the National people and Coach's think about the Big 12 ., - it's called - - -RESPECT. People respecting the crap out of how tough it is in the Big 12. -- It's a absolute war/every dam night. - -Night in - -Night out , you best be ready to bring it against EVERYBODY ! ! !

This week the Big 12 has - -EIGHT - - YES EIGHT teams ranked in the top twenty five. - -Question , does anybody know has there EVER been that many teams ranked in the top 25 before from one League ?- -EVER ? - you would think that has to be some kind of record.

I can't tell during the game, but are they communicating with one another on the court about switching? I would think if they are saying it out loud that it makes it less likely that there is an open player left to make an open shot. It is difficult to switch in-game guarding a 3-5 and then a 1-2 with different heights and speeds. Why don't they switch it up on defense with different looks with zone or a box and 1 or triangle and 2? If they are doing the best they can, then I applaud them, but I have a gut feeling that that is not the case.

The way teams are shooting the 3 against KU , I don't think trying to play zone would be a very good idea. - -I understand these teams are just shooting over their heads when playing us, because WV was like a 32 % three point shooting team when we played they shot- - -57 % against us. - -Same with ISU a 34 % three point shooting team and what did they shoot -- like 41 % ?

I'm not sure who ever it was that got the joke started way back when or whatever, BUT if anyone who has EVER played the game of Basketball can sit there and say to your face that Basketball is a Non Contact sport - -ROFLMAO - I'll call BS right to their face. Having played for years of Basketball in School , Basketball is one of the most physical sports there is. You don't have near the protection that other sports have. -True they now wear mouth pieces - -well some do anyways , and yet basically mouth pieces and jocks is it - -that's all you got and a jock isn't really help protecting against injury - very , very physical game. I've seen broken noses - - -Teeth knocked out - - broken eye sockets - -dis located fingers - -so ya.

Then I agree maybe these guys haven't been getting after it like they should or can, I remember hearing how KU was suppose to have one of the best defensive teams in the Nation - - Juan , Kevin , & KJ.
I'll tell you this - - - true they may not have gotten after it defensively like they should or can BUT mark it down you can guarantee come Saturday against Houston -you can dam well bet they will be able to tell you what brand name Jocks the Houston players are wearing - -it is going to be an absolute war -- the Phog will be insane, Hoston hasn't played in front of right at 16,000 mad dogs in the Phog - -experiencing the Phog, many of good teams have come in there pretty dam cocky and walked out like a pack of whimpering puppies - -It is going to be ridiculous in there , mark it down. Tell the Wife , Brother , Sister , Son , Daughter , the cat , the dog - - -Look out cause there is a PHOG WARNING on the HORIZON - -ROCK CHALK BABY
