Got first look at betting line for Saturday Afternoon @ Texas. - -18 1/2 point underdog. -Honestly , can't argue to strongly against that line , I might not go quite that high -- maybe 15 would be more like it for me, but I can understand. - -We crack the rankings which very proud of the guys , hard work BUT just not on Texas level right now - -they have been putting it to just about everyone.
The only time I sen where Wyoming was with them through three quarters. I would have to thank we would really need to control the clock- - -long time possession drives and manage to force some turnovers

I thought Nevada looked really good against us. Same with BYU. Both QBs played well, except for the INTs. Except for the Illinois game, is our defense still so weak that bad teams look decent? Yes, our defense is improved, but still not good, especially the pass defense. This is an improved team that has a chance to win 8-9 games this season because Oklahoma State and Texas Tech appear to be mich worse teams than expected this year. The question is can this team play well on the road because other than the WVU game, KU never looked that good away from home and didn't look good on the road against one of the worst FBS teams this year.
Don't forget Iowa State -really bad . Sure they scored yesterday , but a lot of that was because they were playing a worse team. - - -Oklahoma St they are really bad Gundy is in trouble. Cincinnati even though they lost looks a little better then I thought, UCF is going to be interesting. I wouldn't go as far as saying our defense is weak .Our defense won that game for us yesterday Fumble and INT retuned for TD'S like three QB sacks & many once again TFL'S they are getting better. - -True Slovis threw for 357 yards but it took FIFTY ONE attempts to get those yards ,& the reason he had to throw that many times was from being behind because totally shutting down their run game with the defense - -averaged 0.4 yards per carry, that's not going to win you any games
The defense is getting better, got some pieces that takes time, yet you figure they not going at Bryant hardly at all - -Robinson , Booker , Burroughs coming along - -Berryhill is getting better although hurt right now Got some ways to go but they not weak. It was mentioned if we could take a touchdown off the boards this eason would be worth a Couple of more wins and they are doing that.
A lot of this is because our offense is killing us with their dam untimely penalties. It's not just how many we are getting but it's also WHEN we are getting them. They costing us points when were driving, plus on top of those offense being careless with maintaining ball control - - fumbling and such.- -Stupid penalties putting the offense in bad hole costing us big yardage starting drives - -if the Offense would stop making costly stupid penalties a couple of these games would of been much worse - - we are going to be fine

Good win, like the start 4 -0 - -just got to clean up these dang penalties - -it's really not the number so much , BUT the timing of them makes them really costly. - -Example we had BYU in a like 3rd and 21 - - and we ge a defensive pass interference. --2 games in a row where we have had false start at really costly times. -Really tough test next week. gonna really have to buckle up

I really don't blame Udeh at all. The reality is that there were going to be 10 minutes to compete for at KU (potentially for two years). Or 25-30 somewhere else. I do agree it is unfortunate he stayed in conference because we know what he could become. Everyone is only mad because he's got the potential to be really, really good lol.
The transfer portal is a huge reason that KU Football is where it is at today. Do we think our transfers are a big bunch of wusses who ran away from adversity? Or did they not feel like their previous school was giving them the best opportunity to showcase their talents? Why would we want Gage Keys or Craig Young? Arkansas beat their selves -14 penalties - -they don't want to get in a shootout against us, they got and ok offense but doesn't compare to ours. - Decent defense but I still think we will be able to put up points.

Well think there is a decent chance we could have some delays in the game tomorrow. - Watching the local weather today from our Local station here in Topeka. ( WIBW ) they had us at a 40 % of rain this morning, now at 50 %
They said people need to make sure to monitor network, chance of all severe weather. primary risk large hail and damaging winds, but couldn't rule out Tornado. - -they said they would be more concerned about the KU game as location was further East - One small sliver of hope is they said chances probably would be after 3 in the afternoon. - -Hopefully e can get it in without to much problems.

If they can't throw that well rain playing a factor we should have upper hand. they only rushed for 77 yards against Arkansas 0.9 per attempt - We have a lot better balanced attack. rushing and passing lie I think it's around 280 passing & 226 rushing somewhere in that vicinity. - - Should be able to run the ball against them. - I'm still gonna say KU 41 - -BYU 21 - -I just don't think they are gonna put up over 30 points on us in this game. - they got 38 with the help a lot because of Arkansas mistakes.

Well now we open our Big 12 portion & 1st team up BYU. -The line is currently 9 1/2 with a over/under of 55.5.
I don't know 9 1/2 seems a little high but I'm not solid on thinking that either so I'm being wishy/washy I know .Yes BYU went on the road got a nice win against Arkansas BUT they were just opportune fortunate i Guess. really actually just got out played. Big thing hurt Ark 14 penalties /turnovers. - We just got to play clean.
Let's look at some things BYU has trouble running the ball at the present they averaged 0.9 yards per against Arkansas. They had one run of 45 yards - the rest of the game they rushed 30 times for 32 yards. Their QB not the best -completes 61 % of his passes - he went 13-25 for 177 yards against Arkansas - Arkansas put up I believe they said 481 yards of offense
We talked about if KU could defensively could even reduce or improve by a touchdown could very easily mean a couple of more wins. - -So yes at the present Ku looks to have improved some. Like I said earlier and have now seen other people say the same : - Ku Defense looks More Athletic - -more speed, & more physical.
Right now KU is ranked 2nd in the Big 12 in total defense - - - 5th in the Country in TFL'S - -they have cut down opponents rushing avg -we have went from opponents averaging 5 yards per carry to 3.9- -Defense is getting better
On offense we are averaging over 500 yards per game on offense , w rank 4th Nationally in 3rd down conversions & Jalen is completing 75 % of his passes. - over 500 yards through the air in two games. I think we are getting things turned around.
I just think that BYU does not want to ty and get in a track meet with us - -trying to outscore us. - I think they have to play a really good clean game and force us to turn it over to win. Been hearing the guys who make picks and lines saying Ku is much better -man still have a hard time when I hear that lol.

Just when we thought College re-alignment was over - - -not so fast , pretty crazy. Have seen some things out now and there is becoming a lot more smoke and chances increasing.
At first I started seeing just a couple of sites - - now seeing more and more and people saying this is really picking up momentum ,, to where people saying it's going to happen, like there is less then a 5 % chance of it not becoming reality.
The first thing was: - -That now not immediately but withing the next 3 yrs more likely is that Oregon State & Washington State will be in the Big 12 in the next round of alignment . - -talk of like 2/3 share for four years. -ESPN is going to officially express that they want Oregon State & Washington in the Big 12. or ESPN & Fox both. , better fit culture wise then Washington, saying that both have Value/brand - -it's all about brand saying who in the big 12 has better. - -you can't goby championships-- where is Oregon State ranked in the top 25 ? - -Where is Washington State ? - Don't bet against it.
Now 2nd . I can see why the Big 12 didn't want to go any further in adding till they see what happens - -they wanted to have spots available. - This REALLY threw me.. So if you do add Oregon State & Washington St that gives the Conference 18 teams - -BUT THEN THIS :
I guess from what has been leaked - discussed is that the Big 12 has had discussions and not just casual chit chat but SERIOUS discussions or these teams contacted the Big 1 to discuss SERIOUSLY about becoming members of the Big 12 - and the Schools that has contacted the Big 12 and more then casual discussions ? - - -two Schools are - - -Florida State & - - North Carolina.
Now these discussions are not currently going on BUT they have had discussions more then casual being reported and people feel the ground work is being laid out now Again just like with Oregon St and Washington State - -this are chances are if it turns out we are looking at like 2025/2026 - -going to be very interesting this next round. Like they said if you think re-alignment/expansion is going away - -your seriously mistaking. North Carlina & Florida State not happy at all. I'm sure Coach will have their attention this week.KU starts out an 8.5 favorite over BYU. I thought Nevada played a terrific game and attribute the close game to their better than expected performance, rather than KU's poor performance. KU was average, but Nevada was very good compared to their previous games.

I don't suppose the 9:30 start time will bother KU players; I think I remember having decent energy after 9pm when I was in college. Sleeping until noon helped.
