been reading Multiple articles and listening to podcasts today. Illinois all over about how KU looked like a really good team , how their linebackers looked slow and how fast seemed like KU was.
I mentioned earlier, I think we are more athletic - -quicker and for sure mor physical. I don't care who you are getting 6 sacks and 9 TFL'S is huge. 2nd week in a row with 9 TFL'S - Newton had 2 sacks for them but yet for the majority of the game was pretty much a non factor.
We are DONE being other schools whippin child - - LOOK OUT cause were comin. To think even NEXT YEAR w have a lot coming back , I like that.
Like the Illinois podcast said after this game the score was not indictive of the game- -KU controlled that game could of/should of ben a lot worse. - - vey easily could of been 55 -24. - figure we fumbled going in on their 21 - - We threw i INT going in from their 31, - -w had a TD called back -from what their 17 ? - even if we just had three FG'S from those would of been 44 - - 24, Like they wee saying you don't want to get into a track meet with this team/

Our defense needs to stand up make a statement, show progress that teams aren't just going to be able to run at will against us anymore. Which I think they have made progress , now time to show it, Lance talking how this was probably the most physical camp he has ever Coached. Wanted them more physical. Big Challenge time to show.
You know , I know everyone knows I've heard off their podcasts, read off there message boards they want to try and run the ball , run the ball down KU's throats. Time consuming drives keep Jalen and the offense on the sidelines. saying they don't want to get in a track meet /shoot out with KU's offense. Smart strategy. They think they have the advantage against our defense time to show they are wrong show progress

Found this interesting. According to Mike Vernon , Vernon states that KU is in the recruitment for Cooper Flagg FOR REAL. Hearin there is genuine belief they're in this thing, Things are getting Serious.
There is thought that KU is a better fit for Coope Flagg from a Basketball perspective for the PF.

Was listening to an Illinois podcast. They was talking a lot about the KU offense & Jalen. Talking about how they feel a big key was being able to get into the KU backfield, trying to put pressure on Jalen.
They it is a must, saying that they can not allow Jalen time back there and go through all his reads, talking about going to have to have an attacking defense. Another thing is they feel they are going to really establish their running game do a much better job running the ball as their two backs only combined for 88 yards rushing against Toledo. They said they have to control the ball , keep Jalen and the KU offense off the field, use time consuming drives cause they said KU is gonna put up points , saying that Jalen could still get 300 yards passing. - Just hope to get pressure on Jalen maybe get a strip fumble saying turnovers are going to big. Hoping maybe get a strip , maybe pressure get a flutter pass for INT.
Saying that looks like their best defender is going to be out and how the defense is going to have to step up - Gonna be interesting

Don't feel very much traction with Harper. - He did not make a trip like they wanted with the other recruits this weekend. - - He was with his brother & Dad at the Rutgers football game.
They really did it up for him , HELL they even had the BIG commissioner there greeting him , with the Caption the Big didn't want to lose stars to the Big 12.
They wheeled him up in a golf cart with his father and the whole Stadium went in to a full chant of we want Dylan - - We want Dylan.

I have been hearing a lot about how tough/stingy Illinois defense is, and who knows could very wall be- -1st game of the year and everything -- -just curious and looking for info , - If they are going to be a really stiff defense then has to be one of two things right? - - Either Toledo is a lot better then some people think , or did Illinois have a lot of loss from last yr ?

Well overall pretty much what I thought would take place. 1st half was for sure up and down As far as being here during the game, still haven't figured that out I am not the smartest on these thing. I was on the ESPN site, not sure how to stay there & be here to discuss game at the same time. Just like in Basketball I usually come in here during a timeout or half time to discuss lol.
here are some things I realize and have realized. I fully realize that Jason is a very capable back up , and glad we have him. head and shoulders above the others two options, and not against Ben, just no experience
I had heard that Ballard had impressed the staff during camp and also had impressed his team mates on just how he handled himself during camp.
Yet I also have to agree with stoptheflop where are the people here? - -we have to get behind this team. I can't believe just like last night in game chat just AS SOON as there was a mistake by the team , w have people in here that just BAM like I saw : oh here we go again just like we use to be playing like shit back to being a piece of crap team - -exactly WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?
People have just got to realize - - -AGAIN just how far down the food chain this team was , it's going to take time, you can't go from the outhouse to the penthouse in just a coupe of years, you have to crawl before you walk. - Sure these kids are going to make mistakes , they are going to make some stupid simple mistakes - what team doesn't make mistakes ? - these guys are still on the way back. With this coaching staff your going to see the turnaround - - -we are seeing the turnaround. it JUST TAKES TIME you can't expect over night success.
Like Dylans said people think everything here is a Basketball forum, which I believe if it's not all about basketball then they think well- - - ehhh. sure, seems like the vibe I get that some put off - quick to critize and slow to praise. If people can't see how far this team has come from how bad this team was then I don't know what to tell you cause your switch isn't turned on - -hell you might not even have a switch to turn on. Again they are going to make mistakes, sure I get mad too but it's going to take time and they need our support.
Our turnout last night I thought was really good for it being on a Holiday weekend and being on a Friday, love that .Yes I hope Jalen is ready this coming Friday , we are going to need him- -for sure, and hope Luke is OK and good to go. Jason is a quality backup for sure again glad he is here BUT big step up this coming weekend. Really thought the defense played better and like had I think they said NINE TFL'S seems to me that these guys seem quicker/faster/more athletic , yet like Texashawk said hope we can figure opposing short middle crossing passes out better, play different scheme or something, just seems like to muh success against us in that - - ROCK CHALK

Well , the ACC got what they wanted, they were able to work out the details for expansion - - -yet this is not over.
The ACC got their expansion passed this Morning, hey they will be adding Stanford --- Cal - - SMU. - -Woo Hoo , real power to their conference.
Now there is this : - -a part of being accepted SMU has agreed where they WILL NOT be accepting any TV revenue for NINE YEARS, - - NINE FRICKEN YEARS. zero , zelch , nada , nothing. not one red penny, for NINE YEARS talk about buying yourself into a Conference. - Cal & Stanford will get 12 Million.
Now this also adds another twist , with this happening now is that Florida St , Clemson , & N Carolina chances are that they will be gone within Five years with We all know the ACC has an unbelievable GOR , and to try and change conferences
is like a 120 Million exit fee plus exiting teams would have to get approval from other league members - - -NOW they are negotiable, so like it said look for those three schools to be gone feom the ACC in the next five years.
So basically the ACC accepting this expansion is to back fill for the departure of the three schools is this an even tradeoff ? - Pssst , please your trading Florida St - --Clemson - - -& N Carolina for Stanford - -Cal - -& SMU - - not even close. the ACC is gonna really take a nose dive within the next five years with this.
