Well read an article from zags blog just now. Saw where Nico Mannion a 6'3 PG is strongly considering re-classifying to 2019. Said he was taking summer classes and if things went well considering saying going back for his Senior year might be boring.

@justanotherfan I wondered too. - -I just read another article just a couple of minutes ago and a Veteran NBA assistant from the Eastern division said the biggest things Doke needed to work on wasn.t on the offensive end BUT the defensive end. He said with all the pick and rolls and switching off a big needed to be able to learn how to defend the smaller guy - - he gave an example of some big ending up guarding Steph Curry in the playoffs making him pass the ball off I just can't remember the big's name.
He was also talking about in the NBA how bigs need to be able to dribble - -pass and then shoot also - -the writer said the sooner people come to realize the reason Doke came back wasn't because of the offensive end - or lack of a jumper - the sooner people realizer that the better off they will be - -it's mostly on the defensive end.
Their were obviously things they would like to see improve like most obvious - -his free throw shooting - -but then also like becoming more like 10 rebound per game player - possibly improving protecting the rim going like from 60 blocks to 100 blocks -- the assistant said that there is a place for a person like Doke just had these things to work on - - interesting

They brought up some interesting points today on the pod cast they said for instance : KU is not going to have Doke , they are not going to try to develop a jumper from him during the year, they may work with him in practice but they don't want him trying to shoot jumpers during the game. I'm kind of think this may shake out - -doesn't matter a lot were loaded in the front but - - -We have Doke as the starting 5 with McCormack backing him up. - - We have Dedric as our starting 4 - with their is some talk about Mitch being able to move out to his more comfortable spot as the back up at the 4. Now if DeSousa is some how cleared eligible then MAYBE? DeSousa backs Dedric at the 4? - -or could Silvio possibly - and I'm saying just possibly play the 3? - - if he is eligible going to be hard to keep him out of the starting lineup somewhere - maybe not from game 1 but I would think pretty soon. - -Thing is Silvio not going push Dedric out at the 4.

Well Doke now has like 3 days to decide whether he stays in or comes back. - - With him taking this long now after the combine to make the announcement I just think it's not looking good for the home team. Hope I'm wrong. Even if he comes back though I would still like to see him work and work hard in developing some kind of shot a liitle aways from the hoop not just the slam to help pull the defense out some from underneath. I think this year we are going to see when he catches down deep I think we are going to see a lot more double down on him to help out so he can't just drive the ball through like he did last year. The reason that I say that is as been mentioned is what we have heard our suspect outside shooting this year if we can't nock down the outside J from somebody or a couple of somebodies then other teams will be able to help om Doke more and force him to kick it back out - unlike last year.

@JayHawkFanToo Some very good points , not much I can add to that , I too just believe that in Doke's case I think it might be hard at anytime for him in the NBA. - -I just think the NEW NBA - & style of play just doesn't fit him. - -Oh ya I'm sure someone will end up taking that chance and I hope they do.But I just think at best he will be another journeyman and very limited playing time - his foot speed and lack of outside game just makes him a bad fit.

Precious Achiuwa : - - Evan Daniels said: Impressed with athletic ability , loves his physical skills , and that he is physically gifted as any player in the class. - Still has some developing to do in terms of skill set , but he is long - - - athletic - - and strong rebounder.
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl :- - moved up from 28th - - 19th : - Daniels said scoring at will both around the basket and mid range has had a good spring.
Jaden McDaniels :- - new guy for KU - - -made a HUGE jump in the rankings went from 89th to - - - -10th - -went from a 4 star to a 5 star - -PF - -from Seattle Rotary
Kofi Cockburn - -nice jump - -from 55-38th

Coach Self again said he has no problem holding onto the scholarship especially seeing as we have no Seniors for next year and we could very easily need for next year - -but yet some feel sold there is this mystery recruit

@dylans While I agree some that Landen never jumped that high , I do find it interesting that for all the comments made about Landen the stats show he really didn't do that bad at all - -pretty good actually.
Rebounding is not all about how high you can jump , a lot more to it then that - and Landen was good at that - -jumping - - - but more importantly a key is positioning - work ethic, foot movement - - blocking out

Don't Bank on KU filling that 13th spot , so says Coach Self. The potential for him to keep the 13th scholarship in his pocket is a good possibility. When asked about it he said - - -Oh, Yeah he said about hanging on to the 13th scholarship now her is why which makes perfect sense to me
Especially because we won't have any Seniors next year. - -Sooooo - - -they need this Scholarship NEXT year -as he is saying not sure just how amny we will have available

Coach Self said that there were very few high major prospects if any that remain available - - -And we could go with what we got ( - hmmmmmm wonder where I heard that before ) He said there is no problem with that.
Then he said They have np plans just to do it to be doing it - -( Again I pretty much said why the hell would you want to just throw out a scholi just to fill the roster. - -If he as Coach said he - -unless they could find that right fit - very unlikely at this point - it is insane to hand out the last one to just fill the roster with a body unled they can be beneficial.
He said sure they could use it but with even the few that's left that we would be in the starting blocks with those guys -and with him going to Coach everything gonna be put on hold
So bottom line - -huh -- could it be? - -Coach hanging on to that 13 th - -without the sky falling and him saying we will be fine if he does? - Not sure people keep saying Coach Self isn't that type of Coach - -and yet - -here he is talking about the very strong possibility of that being what exactly happens.
