Guys & Gals things are really just a mess right now you know ? Now I'm not here to condem , as you can see by my spelling , & I'm not here to thump my chest to support the other. I'm actually here cause I as an American citizen I am confused & also frustrated.

This Corona virus has and or is about to cause some real problems. On one hand you have your small business owners rebelling to some extent anyways about re-opening , concerns about losing their business because of this , stating they just can't remain closed due to this virus. I get that , I fully understand that & I agree with that. It's their lively hood , their future is at stake here A perfect example of this is the fitness center in New Jersey , the owner re-opened in spite of the Governor saying that IF he re-opened he would be in defiance of the order. This morning he has re-opened and State Police are there , as the Governor has said he would shut them down .

Yet on the other hand the virus is still active v, we have WHO saying if we don't take the re-opening slowly it could spell disaster. I agree with both sides. People have to be able to survive - - they need to work , get back to work. Yet we still have clusters of this cases and like this fitness Center where you have so many people. The one thing I do believe is we just CAN'T be in a shutdown one day and then the next just try and TOTALLY re-open like oh well we good to go now , that is just insane.

That's why in a way I agree with Governor Kelly here in our State instead of going from phase one directly to phase two , instead she went to phase one and a half. - -re-open yes by all means re-open but guys we have to be gradual and there is many, possibly to many that want to go back like things are normal. - -that can not happen.

Our lives ARE NOT going to be back to normal for some time to come, as they are virtually saying that they feel real confident that there will be a 2nd wave in the fall. Again I'm not guys & Gals really leaning to one side or the other - - - I get both sides of the fence here both sides have legit concerns .I am just confused about this I think because I DO understand both sides. A person should be able to go with one side or the other and I can't do that again cause both sides are right - - - both sides are wrong.

I understand Business wanting to get back to normal be able to get that money rolling back in , to that respect yes by far I think we need to do that BUT what I don't agree with is People who want to flock to the Beaches like in New York - - New Jersey - - Florida , just for the purpose to celebrate a Holiday or just to be at a beach with hundreds of others when this virus is still so active. That's just a reciepe for another huge flareup. - I'm just ranting guys I know , I'm sorry just confused and frustrated.. This could turn ugly very easily between Business owners ,the lower to middleclass citizen and local LEO's & Govt. - -GOVT I hope not , I feel like this is a Nation that is very close to unrest for sure at this point. - - OK rant over thanks for the time my friends. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Ok, before people start talking all there talk about oh who in the hell even cares, it's WAY to early to even think about it. This topic is just for passing time , something to talk about no matter how far away, even if it IS all just wild speculation how it actually plays out - -THATS IT. not saying I agree - - disagree even have considered so please save the ridicule about the topic ok? - -can we do that ? - -it's merely something to talk about / hell even remotely to think about.

That would be THIS YEARS NCAA post Seasons tourney. Yes KU will be there and seeded somewhere unless the NCAA speeds things & bans us from this upcoming tourney.

So with that being said , IF again IF and it's a really big IF and that's even if this comes anywhere close to reality , from projections it looks like the Big 12 would be a real meat grinder this upcoming Season. The latest mock ESPN Bracketology has the Big 12 with 7 teams in and ALOT of very high seed teams : Baylor as a # 1 - -- KU as a # 2 - - - West Virginia as a # 3 - - - Texas Tech as a # 3 - - - Texas as a # 4 - - - Oklahoma State as a # 8 - - - -& Oklahoma as a # 9 - -that's FIVE teams as a 4 seed or better out of the 7 entered - -that's pretty crazy which would make the Big 12 league play ridiculously tough IF it turned out like that. -I thinks these current projected seeds are insane if it even comes close to that BUT - - - again just passing time guys till we actually get some real sports

Was listening to this guy on the local sports talk show , I know this isn't the correct name but some beat writer I believe DeCoursey maybe?

Any ramifications, he said he was talking I guess with some people from the NCAA and he told them you know you take on Kansas - -they gonna be coming back at you hard , KU not going to take this laying down.

He said he fully believes that yes KU does deserve some penalitites, and that KU will even admit there were wrong doings BUT he said that as soon as these are levied this thing will go to Court and in the end the NCAA is going to come out looking really bad. -

They asked what he thought might happen as far as penalities. He said he thought MAYBE a scenario might be where the 2018 banner might be removed - - and MAYBE being withheld from a year of post season even though he said he felt unsure about that.

Talked about the possibility that Coach Self might be suspended for or around 30 5 of the games which he said equaled to around 9 games , he Said IF that were to happen that KU might accept that and be done with it. He said KU will face the embarrassment of this for a bit - -but in the end that the NCAA is the one that's going to come out looking really bad and losing this , talking about this whole thing may hurt KU in recruiting for just a bit he feels that KU for sure will take this to court and in the end will win this thing. - -He said that the thing is with like Louisville and others is that Louisville cleaned house - - New Coach /AD and total turnover , mentioned NC State and the actions they had taken - -then said the thing with Ku is same coach, pretty much saying that the NCAA looking at Ku and saying they basically have done nothing to correct - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

With his size and length I could see him starting at the 4 by the end of the year in a Josh Jackson type role. He's not Josh, but is similar stylistically.

I could see that too. Think that he will. So, with who we have coming in not only this but also next season how long will it be before Wilson transfers?

Wilson isn't going anywhere, I think some believe he will be very limited - -I however feel he is going to be a guy that see's at least 10 minutes per game

I have no use for this guy what so ever , he is a complete arrogant ass. I use to work for the DMV in Lenexa and when it came time for him to renew his license he pretty much demanded that the office be totally cleared so just him was in the office. His whole approach was sickening. - Now Frank White o the other hand was such an awesome guy , GREAT personality , funny , polite. No closing the office so we could focus on just him.

People were constantly on Frank asking for autographs while he was trying to renew - he just say no problem , and finally did say hold on just a minute let me finish this up and I'll be glad to take pics and autographs for people - most respect for Frank - for this other guy/Brett psssst please he isn't squat - - RUDE RUDE RUDE the sad part when the office called the Governer to see what they wanted us to do - they told us to have other people leave the office and wait - -that's just total Bullshit

2020-21 Non-conference Schedule • May 14, 2020 08:16 PM

@BeddieKU23 said in 2020-21 Non-conference Schedule:

This is actually a very manageable non-conference schedule. Will be interesting to see who we get in the SEC/Challenge- Guessing either @LSU or @Florida. It's not an easy schedule by any means (when is it ever) but manageable.

UCLA lost their two best players at the moment. Leading Scorer Chris Smith declared for the draft (although he could pull out) and 5 star recruit Dashean Nix went pro. Not a Top 25 team without either of them.

Georgetown lost their best player to transfer yesterday. Their other top player went pro.

Creighton will be good, probably a Top 15 team. They did lose Alexander to the Pro's which was a huge loss. They would be Top 5 good with him.

USC has had a lot of roster turnover. Very little talent on the perimeter remains and they only have 1 spot left to get someone who can score.

Colorado will likely take a step down after losing Tyler Bey to the Pro's.

Virginia will be good as they get the transfer Hauser eligible. The inside/out combo of Clark & Huff would be tough as well. Kentucky is Kentucky. 7 freshman, 2 upperclassmen.

I've seen some pre season predictions that STILL has them as a top 5

@jayballer73 Anywhere between 3 and 8. 3 for sure with Garrett, Lightfoot, and DeSousa graduating. McCormack, Agbaji, and Thompson are the early departure candidates, personally I don't see any of them leaving after next season. Then Muscadin and Jossell are potential transfer options. Jossell being the more likely candidate if he doesn't show signs of developing into a role player down the road. Muscadin needs time in the weight room more than anything right now. He'll probably never be a star, but a solid rotation player in the future.

Mercy I sure would hope it wouldn't be 8 - - out of those three possible leaving early I think probably of any of the 3 would be Agbaji. I just don't think Dave is going & I suppose Possibility of Thompson but looking for2 out of him probably -- ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

They are recruiting Bates hard still according to himself. He had a virtual visit with KU recently.

“The message to me was [that] I have a lot of other good schools that want me, and they understand that, but when it’s a big-time basketball program, they just talked about the history,” Bates said. “And it’s right in my backyard. Why not take that?"

Perhaps even more notably, Bates said he was told the Jayhawks would be ready to take him whenever he commits.

I think he would be another nice piece to go with Zach & then if we can get Kendall I would be ok with that 3 new additions. - Not really sure how many Scholi's we are going to have right ?

The hammer might be about to drop on Duke.

Released a little under 2 hours ago from ESPN.

"Attorneys representing Zion Williamson's former marketing representative and her company have asked the New Orleans Pelicans star to admit that his mother and stepfather demanded and received gifts, money and other benefits from persons acting on behalf of Adidas and Nike and also from people associated with Duke to influence him to sign with the Blue Devils and to wear Nike or Adidas products."

The rest of the article goes into the background of the pending lawsuit that's about to come Zion's way.

This is about to get real ugly for the NCAA since they cleared Zion after Duke's "investigation" of Zion's recruit.

And you really think Zion is going to admit to ANYTHING ? he isn't going to admit to squat - - his Mom & Dad the hell isn't going to either.

Well Bowlsby pretty well set it straight • May 08, 2020 09:21 PM

Reading an article from ESPN , the Head of the Big East Has stated IF no students on campus for the fall Semester there would be no fall sports.

Bob Bowlsby pretty much echoed that statement yesterday. Bowlsby said : The Big 12 WILL NOT have sports in the fall if Students were not allowed on Campus.

Bowlsby stated , If the new normal becomes everybody is going to College on line , then our Football players , our Volley Ball Players , Our Soccer Players , Our Cross Country Ahtletes . are Students. An if they are not enrolled in School , then they can't be Student Athletes Bowlsby said. They need to be enrolled in School

I think at this point it's pretty much a toss up as to whether kids will be allowed back. Have heard we hit the Peak , BUT have also heard they are fully expecting a 2nd wave. I wouldn't want to bet the bank one way or another at this point.

That in turn brings up the question I asked the other day here , I KNOW someone here has to have some idea/opinion. IF and again I said if IT turns out we have no Football , IF we have no Basketball an other sports and such - - what happens to eligibility of these kids class wise ? - say does someone just lose their Sophomore year , Freshman year ? - Does a Senior lose his last year of Eligibilty ? - that would suck ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Wise decision buddy. After all really it's not the size of the Wedding that's important , the most important thing is the two of you, you settled on this decision & your bride has settled on this decision. Just think one of many important decisions you two will make together as a couple - Good for you buddy. It's still going to be a very special day , enjoy it - - enjoy this moment to the max. You two will have many exciting fun days ahead. Yet this day will be THAT SPECIAL DAY.

You wouldn't believe the response from the guests with my crying - -how people thought that was so awesome and special -This will truly be a day you should never forget. Cherish the moment.

As you say you got time to be able to celebrate like you want with the big gathering & I'm sure family and friends understand gives you just that many more times to celebrate things all over again. - - Happy for you buddy wish you a long and prosperous marriage I'm sure she is sweet , just treat her like that special lady you be good to go. Les & the future of KU Football • May 06, 2020 09:44 PM

was thinking this earlier today & then heard it brought upon the Local sports talk off WIBW.

Curious what happens with Les after this 5 year contract? - - how many of you actually think there is any chance Les renews his contract? - This was brought up on the sports talk. I actually have thought the same , Les isn't getting any younger you know.

I personally think Les WILL NOT renew , and neither does most that I've heard. Saying that just means would be nice to be able to name a re-placement off his current staff, maybe even Dearmon.
Hopefully by the end of his 5 years we will have this program headed back into a better position, IF and when he retires then hiring someone from the current staff - -keeping the same type of offensive scheme/defensive scheme would be a huge bonus - - no disruption. - If we don't have this at least turned around to some degree by the end of Les contract then I'm afraid we will never get this turned around.

One thing I will say for this current staff, that we didn't hear about former staffs - mercy these guys get after it. - - Already 133 offers out for the year of 2022, and even more insane Ku has 29 offers out for 2023 already - - JUMPIN - - GEE - - HOSSIE - - TOADS. - -the latest two offers went to Abdul Muhammad a 5'9 CB out of Dallas Texas KU was his 1st offer although it shows California & KU

Then we have a offer out to another John Randle. - -Who remembers John that played running back for KU. - -We offer John Randle out of Wichita 6' & 170 lbs already has 5 offers. - - KU - - Nebraska - - K-State - - Iowa - - & Oklahoma State. - -you can't say this staff doesn't get after it.

Let's hope for the best. Would be sweet to have Les stay past 5 - -but I just wonder

I don't think he is bad, just blown out of proportion by the hype machine and portions of the fan base give his actual last on court production. He is a good bench player. I just don't think he is a starter first team all league etc...

Who has hyped Mitch as first team all Big 12? I'm probably his biggest fan here and will say I do think he starts at the 4 spot this year. I've also said multiple times what I think his stats would be and they definitely aren't all B12 caliber. I think 20-25 mpg with 5-7 PPG, 4-5 RPG, 1-2 APG, 1-2 BPG is what Mitch will do.

I know what Self has said about next year's roster and I don't think the playable depth is going to be there next season to run a 4 guard line up most of the time. I think there is more playable depth in the front court next season which will dictate Self running line ups with a stretch 4 most of the time next year.

not so sure, I think I would have to challenge you on being Mitch's biggest fan. I've always really like Mitch, tough as nails and the thing is because he loves the School so much he will do pretty much what ever asked of him.

He is not afraid todo dirty work, take that charge sacrifice his body blocks shots scores here and there, hustles his butt off. May not be huge scorer, and his defense may not be the best but the kid recovers. I have seen him get beat many times on the defensive but has for the most part been able to recover and even block the shot. Just love his attitude - - his approach for sure team 1st with Mitch

Read an article stating that for the 1st time in more then a decade KU announced that they will be reducing prices for Season tickets. They cited feed back from fans - - -market research and because of the Pandemic .

They are splitting pricing into 8 tiers replacing the previous 3. - -Price ranging from 1,650.00 for tier 1 - to 500.00 for tier 8. - -The cheapest ticket last year was 975.00 , this year there are 4 tiers below 975.00 this year & of course the 500.00 which is in the upper Corner of The Phog probably not a bad idea at this point.

They talked about how many sellouts they have in a row and even though it was listed as sellouts they said it was quite noticeable that there were more empty seats in the upper level then in the past. Coach Self talk about how important the fans are & both Long & Self talked about how things were tough. and they wanted to accommodate the fan - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Louisville receives NOA from NCAA • May 04, 2020 06:56 PM

Louisville received a Level one , which is the most serious ( did we get a level one ? ) they are accused of improper recruiting offer ( For Brian Bowen ) for recruiting inducement & extra benefits provided by two Adidas employees and two former assistant Coaches.

Louisville also got hit with two level two for allegations for the assistant recruiting Violations , impermissible transportation & impermissible contact & for the University failing to adequately monitor the recruitment of an incoming high profile student-athlete.

Pitino also received a level two for failing to satisfy head Coaching responsibility and promoting an atmosphere of compliance ( is that comparison to what that alleged Coach Self ) - -his was something like institutional control right ? - -sounds pretty much the same to me. - -Anybody ?

Soo , from everything I have heard we are full roster now for 2020 right ? -so if we are full then why do I keep hearing about possibilities for 2020 roster ? Is Coach & staff looking to squeeze someone out ?

Here is another possible situation. Mike Foster a 6'10 PF out of Hillcrest Prep is thinking about re-classifying to the class of 2020. - -Foster is the # 7 ESPN 60 player in the class of 2021. They are making comparisons of him to DeAndre Ayton & Marvin Bagley. - -Foster himself says he feels like he has some Durant in him

Here is the thing he won't be 17 until Feb - - -so whether if he re-classifies or not he has to stay for 2 years, as he is 2 yrs from being eligible for the NBA. - -He can't go G league as that league is for only kids who are finished with High School. So he be in College for 2 yrs.

Foster has been doing a lot of Zoom Calls has had Zoom Calls with Baylor , & Georgia and is probably going to be in a Zoom call with KU & Coach Self soon they said also a Zoom call with Illinois also Florida State & Michigan has been in contact several times. The player director said he is as good as Bagley was when he was there - -can get out and finish in traffic , has a really sweet jump hook - -Averaged 26 ppg & 13 rpg & 3 blocks per game this past season. - So are we really pursuing this kid? - sounds pretty sweet , but again if this is the case - -someone is getting the squeeze. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

You know I try to keep things in perspective. Yet it's just a little hard for me not to get a little excited. I mean I fully realize the recruits we are getting are no giant killers , BUT compared to what we have been use to recruiting in the past decade -- Like Night and Day.

I mean you will see us in with some big time Schools on a few of these guys , now do we land those guys - -NO , BUT we are least getting conversations from better higher elite quality players, in years past they wouldn't even have a telephone conversation with KU.

The players that Coach Miles and staff are recruiting an getting solid returns on now , I think these guys are going to be very solid players for us in 2-3 years down the road , a lot better players. We are recruiting area's now that in the past we would of NEVER thought about even trying to recruit in would of been a total waste of time - - -THAT'S ALL COACH MILES AND STAFF busting their ass

I really do believe that Coach is making progress, now to continue the trend we just have to some more progress on the field - -get some more W'S - -be really competitive , lets these other teams know, that we ( KU ) isn't going to take the ass beatings anymore. - -I can only hope by the 5 year period Coach will have things in place, after 5 it will be vital cause after that time I think coach just might hang it up. So we need a good understudy to keep this turn around going by then an not fall back into that dark hole ever again

The Wife decided she thought it would be a good idea to put some fresh paint in the Bathroom & re-tile the bathroom floor, - -Then we progressed to fresh paint in the Kitchen & re-tile - - then Retile the utility room, she thought it would be a good time to re- organize the work shed , bring all her totes of yarn out and paperwork so she could go through and then re-organize in the shed. - - ya so I'm good lol - -LOTS to do, with this on top of my regular maintence of the yard and trimming hedge & bushes - -maintaining the Roses so guess no need to worry lol

Yikes. Attrition at Wake Forest already commencing. A few weeks back they were over scholarships then Chaundee Brown left. Now with Manning gone they have 9 bodies right now after their best player Oliver Sarr- 7 footer who averaged 13 & 9 last season has decided to transfer. According to him Manning convinced him to come back for his Sr year without testing the NBA draft and now his coach is fired and he's missed the deadline for entering the Draft..

In Sarr's words

I wanted to test the [NBA draft] waters," Sarr told ESPN on Thursday night. "I requested the UAC [Undergraduate Advisory Committee]. I tried to test the waters, then I had a conversation with Coach and he convinced me to stay and get my degree. He had plans for me, I was going to do great things in the ACC, with the team and individually, of course. It was late April, Coach was going to stay. Then, 24-48 hours before the [draft] deadline, Coach got fired. I didn't get the chance to put my name in and change my mind."

"It's actually a tough decision," Sarr said. "I want to give Wake Forest a chance and listen to what he has to say. I'm entering the transfer portal because I want to listen to all the options. I want to be able to pick my own coach, not have one chosen for me."

Boy that's kind of messed up for the kid. - - just a typical case for the kid. Kind of falls in line with when a kid is being recruited to come to a school as a Freshman he commits cause he wants to play for that Coach and then - - he get's fired after the kid has committed or the Coach leaves and the kid is like - - -Wait ? - - -What?

Another offer for 2022. Ramel Lloyd. A 6'6 wing from Taft Cal ,yet going to transfer to Dream City Christian - -I believe in Arizona.

When asked his thoughts on KU :Tradition - - -A Blue Blood & History of players that have went to pro's. Said since he is a Soph , Coach can't reach out direct but that Ku had been talking to him through the Coach's and had offered through his Coach. - Arkansas has also recently offered.

Ranked as the # 57 player at this point. - Other schools to offer: Arizona St , Depaul , Fresno State , Manhattan , U Mass , St Johns , TCU , UNLV , & USC.

Looks like Coach is shifting some on his recruiting. - -Is he backing off more of the higher level player ? Could be with this NBA thing it could be he is looking more at that 3-4 year developmental player instead of a kid that is here maybe for ONE year. - Just have seen the recruits he has been in on lately. - -OR is it because he is just not getting the interest of the higher elite player because of possibly sanctions with the NCAA , and just not having success with that an is relegated to these type players. Sometimes these type of kids have a really high ceiling, I trust him. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@FarmerJayhawk said in Ok, since I'm going stir crazy with this COVID-19 / a little Pooka & Season:

I think there’s a 90% chance we get a football season. AD’s can’t not have one financially. I think we start late, without fans. I could see us starting in January, playing until April. Most bowls and all of spring ball get canceled.

man , this virus sure has things screwed up starting in Jan? - -man. - but I agree I think it's a must that we have a season of some sort

@dylans I respect your choice but @Kcmatt7 is right, if someone bugs you, you can block them without a trace. You dont see anything they post anywhere.

I've not been in the best of spirits for stretches recently, and I think I may understand how you're feeling.

Think the virus is starting to wear thin on a lot of us - -making things testy even easier

I’m fine, but I’ve found life is better without @Texas-Hawk-10 and others in it. Best of luck to all of you, but I don’t plan on coming back barring a major change.

@wissox @Crimsonorblue22 @kusteve @jayballer54 @approxinfinity you’re cool. Thanks for the fun over the last few years. @bshark I barely knew you. Thanks for the KU info.

Ahh buddy where ya going? - -need to keep good people around. always appreciated you. - You having issues the way I look at it I'm not letting anyone run me off, you shouldn't either , don't give them the satisification.

I've gotten into my fair share of disagreements yet here I am. WHY ? - cause I enjoy many others here, in the end run things mellow out, just takes a little time everyone is good believe it or not, we can't agree one every thing that's what makes the world go round. - -hope you change your mind we need you here bud. - - think about it - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Well since I'm about ready to pull my two remaining hairs out because of being cooped up and about to lose it, I had a couple of things to mention.

I read from TOS. According to a CBS rating I guess, that Pooka is the # 9 running back in the Nation & the 87th rated player, which converts to a possible late 3 rd round possibility in the NFL. There is a lot of take they don't think he will play RB in the NFL. be more of trying to play him in the slot - - open space kind of like Sprols . just think he has to small of frame to take the beating as a RB in the NFL. - A lot of talk he is gone - -well I'm assuming after the upcoming season if we have one that is. - -What do you guys think ?

Then the other that I have is , do you think that we WILL have any College Football this Season? - -I'm kind of leary Let me ask this - - IF we are to have a Season , what would be the dead line to get things rolling such as Conditioning - - workouts - - practices and getting everyone back to Campus and get rolling ? What would be do you think the absolute cutoff ? - -Do you think we WILL have a Season ? - - let me hear ya

Read off zags blog yester I believe. -See where KU offered this kid on April 18th , talked about how his recruiting was heating up. with recent offers from KU & Marquette.

Tichyque Musaka , a 6'11 - 190 out of Valley Christian California ( I would says he needs to hit the old weight room for one - - get some bulk. ) Originally from Congo - -came to United States when he was 13. Was planning on playing in AAU with the West Coast elite - but not now because of COVID .

Self was down to see him play , he say KU said they are looking for a guy like him come in finish rim protector - - -rebound. -I tried looking for him off 247 but found nothing. At this point doesn't list him as a top 100. - -project ?

other offers: Oregon , USC , G Town , DePaul , TCU and others it says. - -Anybody else heard anything on this guy ? - -must be some interest at least if we made offer. probably move up later

@jayballer73 Thanks for sharing your recollections of your garden as a kid. You paint a vivid picture and it's beautiful man.

Once my kids get going they're into it. Certainly breaks up sitting in the house all day, which is what we did most of the week. And with it being wet and overcast, the hammock doesn't have the same allure today.

We took a drive yesterday. Amazed at how busy everything was (worries me), but that's a story for a different thread.

Thanks. Those are memories that will be there for ever. - I remember was kind of a family thing. on a Summers night snapping beans and podding pea's lol. - -Remember Mom Making Cucumber pickles dam they were good lol
