Speaking of bye weeks Iâm a little frustrated that KSU gets a bye heading into the sunflower showdown for the 4 time in the last 6 years. Theyâve beaten us 16 straight times maybe we should stop giving them that advantage B12
@nuleafjhawk I highly doubt he has any day to day duties of those businesses you mentioned. He is a silent partner in most of those but heâs ainât in there everyday running things.
To me it starts with getting the run game going. You are down several receivers and Mahomes pretty much has to be absolutely prefect just to give the team a chance. To me watching the eagles play itâs just polar opposites. Eagles have one of the best lines and RBs in the league. Hurts doesnât have to do anything special, mahomes has to everytime he puts on his helmet.
I honestly wonder if Matt Nagy isnât a good chunk of the issue. Hard to tell for sure because everyone claims Reid calls the plays but ever since he came back to town, the offense hasnât looked the same.
@rockchalkjayhawk I donât know that Iâve seen anything from Hollywood in his career that makes me think of a deep guy. He can be useful in the slot and underneath with the guys around him. He has had trouble staying healthy and hasnât ever been a number 1 guy IMO. If not mistaken heâs in his 7th year and only played 2 complete seasons. One of those years he barely got over a 1k yards with 1,008. Just not a go to guy to me.
Hard to say moral victory with it looking like the royals are going to miss out on the postseason but itâs nice to at least meaningful baseball in September. A lot of years I spent watching the royals with my late grandfather that wasnât the case 99% of the time.
@SlimShaddy54 that seems like a huge line for a conference game
@nuleafjhawk that tends to happen when you are running for your life everytime you drop back. Imagine this team with Tom Brady, dude would get sacked 8-10 times a game.
@SlimShaddy54 the chiefs have zero threat at WR without Worthy and Rice. The truth be told even with them healthy that ainât a top 15 receiver room in the NFL. Iâd take Miami, Dallas, Philly, Baltimore, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Denver, LA both clubs, Green Bayâs receiver room over KCs all day every day. The problem is itâs been the same problem for the last few seasons and it hasnât ever been really addressed. Smith fighting and making that catch on 3rd and 10 was a huge play and one that I havenât seen a KC receiver make since Hill was on the team. That ball shouldâve been picked
@AsadZ said in 2025 Chiefs:
Their D is very good
I watched the cowboys game and itâs crazy to watch other WRs get separation and catch the football. The chiefs had 4 drops today. I believe the giants and cowboys had 2 combined. The chiefs have lead the NFL in drops 2 of the last 3 years right in pace to start the season. We need to draft lineman and WRs
@nuleafjhawk said in 2025 Chiefs:
@rockchalkjayhawk he's got cataracts. Well, dollar signs in his eyes. Can't see anything but money.
I know you hate Mahomes but I have zero idea how anyone with any type of football knowledge could pin the losses on him.
I also donât think the eagles are a much better team, they have played mistake free today for the most part. The pick shouldâve been a touchdown and Butker missed a FG.
@rockchalkjayhawk oh I ainât throwing in the towel at week 2. Just have a very long ways to go if they want to win the division
The tush push works great with a head start everytime
Like I just told my son, the run is going to end at some point. Kelce/Jones are old and just not the players they once were. The O-line is average on the best day and the defense is much of the same.
That was a huge drop by Travis there
Hey we got a 4th and 1 running the ball, play call was much better.
Also the way Mahomes has had to use his legs in these first two games, you may as well do a QB sneak in those situations
No reason in running that, Iâm okay with going for it but the lack of running game is so detrimental to this team and was in the Super Bowl. You canât take the air out of the ball and go on a long drive to give the D a rest.
Mahomes is the only source of offense right now and I agree. We are gonna fart around and get him hurt.
The Big 12 to me looks wide open at this moment. I agree 100% with @Texas-Hawk-10 we have to take care of business at home in the early season. After the October 4th game at UCF the schedule gets a lot tougher and if it turns into a situation where we need 2 or 3 wins. I just donât see it happening. I think both Arizona and Cincinnati are better than most thought they would be. But working in our favor I Missouri as painful as it is to admit is a potential top 10 team right. That Hardy kid at RB maybe the best in the country at his position.
@Jhawk69 we need to have that mind set regardless of the opposition for the rest of the year. Iâll say the same I said last season about this game, I donât see the loser making a bowl game.
The big 12 is looking more like a pretender every single week.
If Wisconsin had anything that resembled an offense, theyâd be fine
At this point itâs looking like KSU would be a bad loss. I ainât counting my chickens before they hatch at the same time. We shouldâve beat them in 2005, 2009 and the last two years. You can bet your ass they play the best against us. It feels like if we donât end it this year, we may never get it done
@Jhawk69 getting an extra week to prepared and with how they have looked. There is not an excuse good enough to lose to WVU imo.
@dylans the conference doesnât look good at all to me at this point. You have Tech, Utah and ISU. But im not sold on any of those tan right now. Whomever makes the playoffs likely gets smoked first game they play.
One thing not a lot of folks are talking about is the talent around the PG. TT did a lot the second half of his senior year with one draft pick. The teams that won the titles had a minimum of 3 draft picks on them. Several of the guys listed only played with one draft pick so it makes it tough to gauge.
-
Frank Mason- was the trick of all trades as a PG imo
-
Aaron Miles- great passer, all time assists leader and under rated as a defender being 3 all time in steals.
-
Sherron Collins- a lot like Mason but not as good defensively. Jack of all trades
-
Tyshawn Taylor- Turnover prone but was great the second half of his senior season.
-
Devon Dotson- to me he was Frank Mason 2.0, he just wasnât long enough to be hirer on this list.
-
Russel Robinson- Great defender but average IMO on the rest.
-
Devonte Graham- really was 2 guard that became a PG due to necessity. One of my favorite SGs in KU history.
-
Elijah Johnson- same story as Dtae not really a PG but had to play there for a year. 10 second call vs Michigan will haunt me for the rest of my life.
-
Marcus Garrett- great defender but also not really a PG and forced to play there for a season. He did solid looking at the talent he didnât have around him.
-
Dejuan Harris- never was a fan of his game and big circle dribbles that ended with him in the air and turning it over under the basket. Was pretty much all we had much of his time here outside of Remy. Him being behind guys like Miles on the both the all time assists and steals but playing in numerous more games says something to me.
-
Naadir Tharpe- Didnât like his game and wasnât great at anything IMO besides having an Ego the size of Tim Duncan. But he likely makes a FF with a healthy Joel Embiid.
@dylans same can be said for Remy Martin and Juan in 22. The back up was likely better in both scenarios but Russ had experience and Juan had started all so they kept the line up the same. Iâd bet Collins and Martin played just as much if not more in the title game and more in most tournament games.
@patoh3 yes Henderson has the big drop but JD over threw him on two walk-in TDs at one point as well. Thats was the knock on JD when Bean was here, Beans long ball was better.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Fair points, I just saw the box score on Fresno game. I keep forgetting Utah is in the conference now lol
@dylans we recovered it so not a chance they would gain possession, we like get it back from the illegal touching point plus 10 yards. The pick play in the end zone on 4th down was also a huge miss by the refs
Thinking this morning, Mizzou just maybe a ready good football team going forward. Not sure I could name 10 teams that go into Columbia and are favored right now. Fresno beat Oregon State by 2 scores last night and we spanked them. The conference continues to look wide open after yesterdayâs disappointing non-conference showing. Iowa state maybe the only clear favorite at this point in the season. WV our next opponent was just beat by Ohio 17-10. We have a lot of winnable games left on the schedule. We must reset and refocus this off week and get ready fro the meat of our schedule.
Nice to see KSU get the loss they deserve, the question on X is if LL drops the KSU game does his seat get hot? I think if we reach a bowl game it does not. Miss a bowl with his stadium demands and the money Booth has just thrown in the program. Then the seat gets warm.
@wissox ya that 4th and 10 from the 28 prob isnât even attempted with their kicker available. A few others are borderline.
It hurts because itâs been the simplest of plays that have killed the last few minutes of halfâs today and last season. Catch the football, hold on to the football, throw the football to your team and tackle the guy thatâs right in front of you. We literally could be 15-1 it the last 16 games by making simple plays that D1 power 4 guys make routinely every single week. Iâm glad we have the off week to refocus but WV at home is a must win for bowl eligibility
@DCHawker ya the defense is as hot butter much of the day. We fought and gave ourselves a good chance for 3.5 quarters just got beat by a better team. We need to spend this off week working in tackling
Silly to not throw it 10 yards out of bounds for a 6th guy. JD was solid today but 2 turnovers were very costly
@bskeet having their kicker out may have benefited them
Sometimes it seems like we snatch losses from the jaws of victory.
I just feel sick like I did after 6 of our 7 losses last season
Damn it this one hurts
I honestly have zero idea why you donât going with how this defense has played from the second quarter on.
Done now
Gosh darn it
Henderson had it
Omg
Jesus our 4th defense is the reason why itâs a game
Come defense need at least one more stop fellas
Well here we are deep in our on territory big game, this is where legends are made
