@HighEliteMajor the 38 people shot by unlawful gun owners is part of the reason I’m against gun control. We need to find out how to keep them outta the hands of some people but if the try to disarm everyone, only criminals will have them. The police ain’t gonna go to east St. Louis, Compton, South Chicago or Detroit to get these guns because they don’t have anywhere near the fire power. I live and graduated high school in a small town, most of guys had guns in our trucks during school to go bird hunting afterward. I’d say upwards of 90% of folks in this area own fire arms but shootings are pretty much non existent. Teaching kids not only the value of life but fire arm safety is needed.

Kirk is driving me nuts in the second game, why they let alum call games like this is foolish.

I think you’ll see OU take a step back in the next few years. Riley has been living off of Stoops riches for the few years and transfer QBs. They may still win the conference next season but no playoffs.

The B12 probably has to have an undefeated team to get in the next few year OU has gotten their butts kick the last few years.

I think Braun will be very good in a year or two but I’m not sold on much outta him for this season. He plays hard, that I like but Enaruna IMO is a much better player right now. I don’t think Self changes the PT a lot going forward we basically play 8 with Silvio's single digit minutes.

I think we will win the conference by at least 2 games. Not sold at all on this conference at this point. The turnover bug that most people aren’t talking about, we’ve lost 2 games because of them. I’d like to see that cleaned up sooner rather than later. We have to shoot the ball more consistently from 3 point land and start making free throws as well. The ceiling of this team is pretty high if some of the freshman and Silvio can improve as the season goes on. As @Texas-Hawk-10 said Garrett’s ankle could spell trouble, those type of injuries can nag all season long.

Some people refuse to help themselves, wonder what he was involved in this time.

@HighEliteMajor @approxinfinity very good points. I’ve lived in two places in my life, the inner city and in the middle of nowhere. First thing I’d do is close the liquor stores that are around every corner. These folks don’t need the temptation of spending money there. Secondly we need to stop putting people in jail for non violent crimes. The system is a joke and no one gets rehabilitated, the prisons want them back to make money. Nearly 80% of inner city kids live off of single parent income. That’s a major issue itself. Jobs, lots of jobs, think if LeBron James or one of these celebs that claim they care lobbied for NIKE or someone to put a plant there instead supporting oppression in China. There will always be some people living below the poverty line unfortunately but when the stuff we brought at the store was made in this country it paid dividends. Be the change you want to see in the world.

Bill Self suffers from the same issue our local high school does. Not accepting that it isn’t 1992 anymore and guys can shoot the basketball from a 40 plus percentage from down town.

@mayjay I don’t think I’d even be mad if I was in coach Selfs shoes. I’d just tell the guys that’s what happens when you aren’t focused on the task at hand, we are the better team we just let them steal it away. We have to learn to finish those games when we don’t play well, that’s 2 on us guys. Hopefully y’all have learned and there isn’t a number 3, now get you butts home and gave a merry Christmas. Lol

@jayballer73 they have probably already played their toughest games. I’m cool with it, we suck as a number 1 team. Seems like we always have.

Seeing how both Frank abd DG went in the second round, I’d say he has very little shot to go first round. I think Dotson was ahead of Frank as a freshman but he’s not national POY Frank as a senior by a long shot IMO. I fault no one that goes and gets picked in the first round because they are guaranteed a 3 year contract. If he leaves I’d be worried he’ll bounce around the G league and end up across the pond in Europe playing after a middle second round pick.

@BShark I put it on scheduling, we never play worth a crap in this game switch it with last Saturday’s game and probably win both. The players weren’t focused and Garrett went down is why we lost. Play a cupcake in this game Bill, the guys are focused on going home for the holidays not basketball.

I went to watch the new stars wars movie at half time, just watched the second half. We really need to stop scheduling anyone but a cupcake for this game. We were the better team IMO, just looked like we had better things to do and weren’t focused. Dot was terrible down the stretch, just like the Dook game but I’d rather him have to learn now rather then in March. This year is like 2011 where this isn’t a obvious number 1 or 2 team. There could be 20 teams with a title shot given the right road.

@HighEliteMajor i typically agree you but I’m interested As to how holding final fours in 90,000 football stadiums benefits the student athletes? Also as mentioned above, why only target a small amount of schools in this so called scandal? I’d question anyone’s intelligence looking at UKs, UNCs and Dook classes year after year that thinks they ain’t cheating in someway.

The issue for me is that because it is a Nike school, the book will shut on this though it’s obvious Penny is buying players. If they were a Adidas school it would be being looked at like a Billy Preston deal. Dude sits and then leaves not even playing but it’s being looked into. Wiseman plays against the NCAAs wishes and gets a slap to the hand. The NCAA is a bunch of crooks and is the biggest legalized mob outside of the government in this country. If they ain’t in it for the money? Why are final fours being played in 90,000 seat venues where the experience is terrible for fans instead of MSG or other NBA type arenas.

@jayballer73 We had 23 seniors this season. If we sign the max of 25 (we most likely do with 18 in the early session) we would net gain 2 players as long as no one transfers. But people also forget that I believe a couple of those seniors we former walk ons and/or actual walk ons that weren’t really D1 guys. Getting 2 or 3 full classes with mostly high schoolers will help a ton.

The most frustrating loss was the elite eight game that we probably cruise to title had the out come been different. A couple of questionable calls and poor defensive rebounding were killer at that point. The final four game sucked but they were much better and I was happy to make it that far after we should’ve in 2013, 2014 (with Embiid healthy), 2016 and 2017. I’m over coach Selfs regular season success, I think he’s the best regular season coach in the game. We just need to do something in March IMO.

I wish Clint well, he’s a good guy and one of the most loyal Jayhawks around. I’d say he pretty much got fired at this point. I’m sorry to say he flat out hasn’t improved our team at any position in the last several seasons. I honestly think he would’ve have been better suited to be HC that Beaty but you have to produce at this point.

Disappointed that DE Khari Coleman flipped to TCU, Jaylin Richardson from KC flipped to UNI sounds like to play RB, and we couldn’t flip OL Josh Remetich from Tulane. Looks like a decent class, sucks the only surprises went the other way.

@Crimsonorblue22 all of our bigs were considerably better outside of Embiid when Danny was here.

Manning was a much much better bigs coach than Roberts currently is IMO.

@jayballer73 the packers aren’t good imo, they have got about 5 game changing calls that were incorrect. They really are an 9-7 type of team, we’ll find out in the post season if Rodgers has any magic left.

@BeddieKU23 night and day difference between sprint center and Allen. Allen is really night and day different from a non conference game like Milwaukee to a high profile conference game like Tech, KSU or something. My first game was 09 vs Texas on senior day for the big 12 title out right. Still is the best game experience for me at Allen because we came back late and won. My ears rang all the way home that night. If I remember right we kept getting it down to 2 or 3, then they’d stretch it back out to 8. We got it back to 2 with a couple minutes to go, Sherron got a steal and Brady hit a 3 to give us our first since early on and the place went completely bananas. Texas who was good back then had no idea what the hell hit them. I hope you had a good time, I can’t wait til my boy is ready to go to a game with me.

The crowd is always asleep in the sprint center. Some of it today could be blamed on the opposition.
