I think Chris Beard, Tony Bennett and Jay Wright are some of the guys I'd want but it would be impossible to repeat Self's regular season record. I think all 3 guys could do as good in the dance.
@pmann You're as useful and goofy as a football bat. Everyone living in this country has heard of Kansas Basketball. Anyone that considers themselves a fan of the game knows of Phogg and Naismith. Tell your Mom to get you another hot pocket and your Hoosier ain't done jack crap in 30 years, ever since they stopped letting Knight choke people.
My sources in Lawrence aren't sounding real positive. They believe that Self will leave after this season to prevent further punishment a lala Larry Brown deal. He sure does seem to be putting a ton into this season already.
@approxinfinity if they are Brave enough to show up lol. Pun intended
@alwaysajayhawk watched him in person last season, he's pretty good.
@jayballer73 glad for him, with how little he played last year, you'd think that helped. Hopefully his pops is doing well and he will excel. I really thought he was gonna be great shooter for us last season. But it's tough when your folks are having trouble. My dad had early onset dementia and past away in April.
That game is why the chiefs can't be in the superbowl. That was pathetic on all fronts. Kelce looked a high schooler and a dozen penalties were killer.
I'd say we have made some progress in some areas but none or even regressed in others. That being said it's unfair to compare this team to last years when we lost all but 9 starters and were only able to sign 15 recruits. The progress or lack there of the offensive line is disappointing. I feel like we have gotten worse as a group there when we returned everyone but the center. The defense I think has been a working progress and probably better than I expected. I was worried we could average 45 ppg or more let up. The main issue I have is the Coastal loss, which just inexcusable IMO and the playing calling which could improve after today's firing. I really think we have to give Miles a pass on this first season with what he inherited. He already has as many road wins as the previous 4 coaches counting Bowen. 2 wins in year one is the same or better than MM, Beaty or Weis did. I'll bet we steal one and match Gill's 3 wins but he inherited a much much better situation. Im just hoping we can have a big offseason, get a QB and some linemen on both sides. I'll stress to everyone again, this isnt a sprint rebuild and shouldnt be treated that way. The other coaches since MM short cutted it time and time again. That's what killed our scholarship numbers. Why SZ sat back and let Beaty repeat Weis's errors is baffling.
@FarmerJayhawk Yep exactly, it was right up David Beaty's alley. I get offensive line and QB are below average at this level. But that means you have to get creative and not run the same 6 plays over and over. We basically had 7 points the last 2 games that were against a first team defense. @Texas-Hawk-10 I've never been a big fan of firing people mid season but I feel his play calling and refusing to bench Stanley regardless of the score have cost us 2 wins. After the Coastal game I was more than ready to move on at seasons end. Sucks that you had some ties to the guy and it didn't work out.
Steven Sims JR got a TD on the Pats!! Holla at your boy!!
In kinda pissed I couldnt go to be honest. In not a big rap guy by any stretch but the early 90s stuff at least wasnt mumble rap lol.
Nice to see KSU lose 2 in a row, that outta shut up the big 12 title flap I've been hearing. Like I said about Kilenman,he's not used to playing good team after good team. Half the NDSU schedule was a cake walk.
Announced attendance was 34,402. Score was 45-20. I think we made some gains today. Back to back games without turnovers and the defense finally got there own. Wish Lee wouldve got that easy pick 6. Nice to see Pooka look like a good player again.
@BShark I got a good laugh outta it.
Big 12 is and odd this season so far. Looks the conference may beat the heck outta each other. I didnt expect ISU to spank TCU or TT to hand OSU with relative ease.
@FarmerJayhawk at this point it's just to pad his stats and make it justifiable. Dude had 98 yards passing at the start of the 4th quarter and finished with 230. @Crimsonorblue22 I believe this is his 15th start and 6th in a row. He doesnt need reps, he needs better decision making. Not mentioning hes a 5th senior. Our 5th year senior that's been starting all year needs more reps lmao!!
Why haven't we got another QB in SMH. Never seen a guy as erratic as Stanley long, then short and then makes the complete wrong read. Better find a Qb for next season or we are toast again. Crazy how FCS teams have 3 QBs better than our 5, two of which are 5th seniors.
@Crimsonorblue22 it should be 14 all with a fairly officiated game.
play calling on Kansas's part is getting a little to predictable.
Obvious missed clip and hold on the OU kick return. Just keep playing boys we know you're against 14 today.
Third and 50 wow
Can't catch the ball if someone is holding your arm down. Like I said the refs wont let us stay in it. They've made it plenty obvious at this point.
More flags on KU SMH
@bskeet which is BS, if you run your QB it's a risk that he gets smoked. Period. Not that it matters but the refs wont let us hang in this. OU is the conferences only hope to make the playoffs.
@Texas-Hawk-10 that was a weak call, he was in bounds and it wasnt to the head or neck. That's a good hit if OU does. It sure hell was not a late hit outta bounds.
Then we drop a cake walk pick 6, wow
Huge huge drop, could the play breaks it open.
@Texas-Hawk-10 very true, his game wins against Coastal and WV.
Just play hard and see what happens.
@jayballer73 I'd say close to 20k, good stop by the defense.
@Texas-Hawk-10 I'd like to see someone else for sure if this is the blowout we expect.
They delayed the kick off by a half hour.
@stoptheflop Yes, I'm at a loss for it. Supposedly the QB competition was neck and neck but Stanley plays terrible for 2 games and nothing? Even if it wasnt close, why not get someone else some snaps in a 40 point game.
@HighEliteMajor @benshawks08 That is the issue for me, I do not claim any side when it comes to politics. But right now there is no middle. If I disagree with a Democrat I'm a racist and a Nazi. Which is sickening to compare someone to Hitler or a Nazi. I'll have to try and find a article that a holocaust survivor wrote about insulting that is to them.
@Crimsonorblue22 my wife taught in the some of the rough public schools in St. Louis for several years. We do what we can for sure.
@benshawks08 I absolutely hate parents that are excited to spank their kids. My step father was that way. He jump up with a smile on his face and sprint to the belt. Sick SOB he was but that's another topic.
@Crimsonorblue22 honestly I'm against spanking in general. I don't want my children to fear failure or feel like they will be physically attacked. I want my kids to understand mentally what's right and wrong.
@Crimsonorblue22 It is against the law to punish a foster with physical harm. I dont believe in belts. Standing the corner is my go to, then explaining to them in matter they can relate to as to why it was wrong.
@benshawks08 I dont believe @HighEliteMajor is trying to be racist personally. I think he can be harsh for sure though. It is our responsibility a residents in this country and of the world to help whom ever we can. I just wished more people in Washington and these celebrities that claim to care would step up do something besides put their name on gym and never return. If I won the lottery I would spend every dime with children in the inner city, the foster children that age out of care and are left in the street and a big rescue center for animals.
@benshawks08 Actions without proper consequences are part of the problem. Every situation is different and yes sometimes a white person is very well responsible for some of those issues. I felt that you insinuated that all problems in the inner cities are all on some else. I'm changing my small piece of the world as much a can. I refuse to ever give up on children. I've tried to teach several kids in our care that they can be loved and break the cycle that lays behind them. We have only taken in younger kids and the difference with discipline and love makes is unbelievable. Kids love to have rules, they know you care about them at that point.
@HighEliteMajor Some people don't like the answers to hard questions. I've been a foster parent for nearly 8 years now and race has no meaning to me so I've had Hispanic children and African American children (I love all children). I've had 3 and a 4 year olds in my house at that were already saying things like "f the police" , "f white people" and several other things that would probably get me removed from this blog. I had very rough upbringing and spent time living in a low income predominantly African American neighborhood. 90% of my friends lived with their moms and their mom didnt have any rules or discipline them. Over 70% of children in the inner will grow up without a father figure. To say abouslutely none of that is their fault is a load of crap. I've always enjoyed watching Judge Joe Brown and more times than I count he has told these young men to "Man up and take care of their children". When I didnt do my home work my step whipped my a** with a leather belt. When my friends didnt, they got no punishment. They didnt get in trouble for skipping school or starting fights. So what happened to some my old friends? One them is in prison for murder, one of them is dead. But there are some that decided they didnt want to live that life. They got jobs and worked, just I like I did. You are in control of what you do, no one else.
Said UNC snoop but he wasnt wearing UNC stuff. Bet he meant uncle snoop.
It's a very interesting story, I'd say that Les and Co think Pooka will be here next season and/or he has another recruit that he thinks is better, and/or that Gardner is better.
@rockchalkwyo at what point was he in UNC stuff, had his hair covered in the locker room like he just got in.
Um... I saw there are pole dancers on the court with him.... that could upset some folks.
@rockchalkwyo not that I've seen, I have Lightfoot and SDS on snapchat. He walked in the locker room several hours ago wearing a KU blue ADIDAS sweater with a KU #20 Jersey underneath.
That 1997 team when you look at what guys did moving on to the NBA, could easily be the most talented team to not win the tournament. One of the first teams I can remember watching as a kid.
