ISU game chat • Aug 31, 2019 05:08 PM

I love Hebert but 2 of those runs are TDs with pooka. That's why I'm not worried about the offensive just yet.

ISU game chat • Aug 31, 2019 05:07 PM

I think we'll see Macvitte all second half

ISU game chat • Aug 31, 2019 04:59 PM

If we can get the offense to wake up for a few series, its blowout. Defense has been solid outside of 2 plays

ISU game chat • Aug 31, 2019 04:57 PM

Offense looks like Beaty is still here

ISU game chat • Aug 31, 2019 04:40 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I'm not sure Stanley has ever been giving the key, he has had several solid outings. Beaty was just so pro Bender he never got a full chance.

ISU game chat • Aug 31, 2019 04:39 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 pretty sloppy so far on both sides as to be expected early.

Guy's let's see , try • Aug 31, 2019 02:28 PM

Looks like maybe I can start a free trial with YouTube and watch it, frustrating, I literally had the channel 2 days ago. Only issue I've had with sling.

Guy's let's see , try • Aug 31, 2019 02:21 PM

Anyone wanna give me a login to fox sports go. I had fox sports midwest 2 days ago, apparently sling is in a dispute with them so now I can't watch...

JamesOn Curry: Where Is he now? • Aug 31, 2019 02:52 AM

@approxinfinity interesting, he was a stud in college for sure. OSU had a great program in the early to mid 2000s. I'm glad to see he has finally turned his life around. He is one of the lucky ones, no doubt. Hopefully his story reaches someone in a similar situation.

Guy's let's see , try • Aug 31, 2019 02:17 AM

It will be interesting for sure, ISU offense looks like they could pound the ground game with a veteran offensive line and us having very little experience up front defensively. But the same could be said on the flip side. The weather looks to be pretty nice from what I've seen, partly cloudy, 78 and rain showers but not til late afternoon. I like the attendance around 35,000. I dont look for a ton of points with both teams puting emphasis on the run game. Kansas 27 ISU 17. I think KU adds a late touchdown in a tight game to seal the deal.

ESPN+ Series • Aug 30, 2019 12:17 AM

Apparently there is only 4 episodes released at this time, yes I watched them all lol. They are fairly short but I liked it.

Quality Coaching • Aug 23, 2019 05:52 PM

Ryan Willis was easily the best QB on the roster while he was here. The coaching staff was a joke in not seeing it. Cozart wasnt great at Bosie, he wasnt the starter, blew a 20 some odd point lead that the starter built against WSU in a quarter. Throwing the worst INT I have ever seen at any level (seriously search you tube). He played mop up duty against sub par teams to have average stats. My first memory of Cozart showed me who he was, running outta bounds a half yard short of the line to gain to prevent being touched by a DB that was considerably smaller than him. If you are that ungodly scared, go knit by fire while the men play football.

ESPN+ Series • Aug 21, 2019 10:51 PM

Good to see they have released a date. I highly recommend sling tv, I get every ESPN, Fox sports channel and NBC sports for $45 a month, no contract. I just added back ESPN plus for $5. So $50 a month a get just about everything sports I could want. I dropped Netflix because I didnt like the changing of shows. Sounds like each company is gonna make their own streaming service (Disney, NBC) , which kinda sucks because a person will have buy each one if they want to watch a particular show. I only watch sports and paw patrol so I'm good lol. I was paying direct TV $120 to get the same sports channels.

Notebook: KU prepared to play 2 centers • Aug 19, 2019 02:29 AM

@justanotherfan Very true, Reesing and Meier oddly enough on the same team are the best QBs in memory to me.

Early Discussion: NonConf Schedule • Aug 18, 2019 11:03 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 @stoptheflop not a surprise really, we have lost to 2 FCS opponents in the last 4 years. I’d say Indiana State is not quite as good as Nichols was last season but fairly close. I’ll give my score closer to game day.

Early Discussion: NonConf Schedule • Aug 18, 2019 10:55 PM

@FarmerJayhawk I agree with your assessment. Beaty going 50% on Juco’s and transfers was why I was critical of his time. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is insanity. He knew had 3 years minimum, he should’ve took 90% high school players. Then he would’ve at least improved our scholarship numbers. Honestly he did little to improve our program in 4 years. I’m predicting 4 wins myself, the BC game will be interesting. Yes they are most likely a bowl a team but the ACC is super weak outside of Clemson. BC I think was there closest game last year in a 20 point win at BC. I’m not enough of a gambler to predict a true road win vs a power five opponent because we haven’t done it since 2008. Breaking down this team in to position groups it’s easy to think the offensive line, running back corps and secondary will be good. I just can’t think the front 7 will be after losing everyone. I don’t think it would be hard for QB play improve at the same time. Miles has hinted at running the ball and keeping it in our hands at point. I think that is the best strategy for us to win but the defense still has to play well.

Hudy going to Texas • Aug 17, 2019 04:12 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 Texas Athletics has literally twice the budget of Kansas. They will have no problem paying for her equipment and her probably much higher salary.

Hudy going to Texas • Aug 16, 2019 05:22 PM

I bet Texas is paying her a boat load of money.

Chiefs! • Aug 12, 2019 02:36 PM

@justanotherfan right that's why I'm thinking they won't duplicate those numbers. But yes if they improve on 3rd it will help tremendously. I'm just waiting til we see if they can actually do it.

We Can Guard The Three Point Line - Period • Aug 12, 2019 01:35 AM

I think our 3 point defense will be better. One thing to consider is the line moving back, last time they moved it back the average percentage dropped about 3%. The hedging was pointless the past few years while we played 4 guard line ups. It should be a simple switch with everyone but the 5 and that wasnt the case for us.

Chiefs! • Aug 12, 2019 01:29 AM

@BShark very true but I still think Dee Ford was better. The defense was terrible last year in everything but creating turnovers. I'm worried that they will be a touch better statically wise but wont duplicate turnover numbers. Oddly enough I feel the same about KUs defense.

Chiefs! • Aug 11, 2019 07:01 PM

Defense still looks like a struggle on third down

More Kids Need Trade School.... • Aug 03, 2019 04:34 PM

I think college would be fun for most guys, you get treated like rock stars and get a chance to win games and championships. This is an interesting route but I think it could be better than RJ's to go overseas. If you train for 12 months and keep it under wraps, then go workout from teams. You may not have as many knocks on your game but you won't have as much experience in a team setting. On RJ's deal, it's very risky in alot of ways. He could get injured as he could in college of course. He could show that he isn't as good against players that probably are below major D1 college skill level. You also have to figure that it is a huge change to up and move to another country especially for a teenager.

Question ? • Aug 01, 2019 05:28 PM

I think it's asinine personally, the kid was removed from the football team roster over a month before this incident happen. It literally has f**k fire nothing to do with university or the football program. I've been to dozens of KU athletic events and am a Alumni member maybe if I get arrested they will make a headline "Kansas Booster busted" just to get more clicks. It's all about the clicks my friends, 90% of media outlets have false or misleading headlines. IMO there is no need for KU to be in the headline, I would be fine if they said something about him being dismissed from the team. No logical reason to include KU in the headline.

Max Falkenstien - Rest In Peace • Jul 30, 2019 12:58 AM

Abouslutely heart breaking, I grew up with him and Bob Davis. They were the best ever and I'll fight you on it. RIP my friend.

Big 12? SEC challenge • Jul 29, 2019 05:19 PM

I like playing Kentucky, especially since we have beat them a lot the last 5 years but I also think the game would mean less and less if it was played every year with being in different conferences. I personally think Cal is scared to come back to Allen and I think we have played them like 7 of the last 10 year or something around that. I like that Missouri is in personally, the rivalry will never be what it once was, which stinks IMO. But I think it would be a cool game to play every 2 or 3 years. Personally the KSU rivalry doesn't do it for me. I think it's gotten more intense since we stopped playing Missouri but it's like beating our little brother that gets cocky.

2020 Football Recruiting • Jul 29, 2019 05:11 PM

@FarmerJayhawk That whole situation was disappointing and wish he could've stayed. Best of luck to him.

Pre Season Stat Projections • Jul 28, 2019 02:53 PM

I don't see Garrett being the second leading scorer on this team but he could see the second most minutes and average in double figures very easily IMO. I'd really be shocked is Doke only averaged 11 points a game as well. I'd bet that number is low and his 8 rebounds a game is too high, he's never been a great rebounder. I also believe that SDS will be doing a little more scoring than 7.7 points per game. Interesting than Mitch is not even on the sheet like they don't expect him play (redshirt?).

EJ Led TBT Squad • Jul 27, 2019 01:39 AM

I feel terrible for Perry and we can see why most of our big name alums stayed away from this tournament with no guarantee of a decent pay day.

EJ Led TBT Squad • Jul 26, 2019 12:26 AM

Let's wait til we're down 20 in the 4th to play defense smh. Remind me of some other games in a tournament.

EJ Led TBT Squad • Jul 26, 2019 12:18 AM

What a sh** show lol oh well I guess. No one on this team can shoot.

EJ Led TBT Squad • Jul 26, 2019 12:15 AM

Be lucky if it's less than 20 at this point, need a run. We look old, slow and uninterested.

EJ Led TBT Squad • Jul 26, 2019 12:10 AM

Be lucky if it's less than 20 at this point, need a run. We look old, slow and uninterested.

EJ Led TBT Squad • Jul 25, 2019 11:55 PM

Hopefully Self went back there after his interview and go the guys going a little bit.

EJ Led TBT Squad • Jul 25, 2019 11:44 PM

@HawkChamp just need to tell the guys to play together and start doing the simple things like boxing out and moving on offense.

EJ Led TBT Squad • Jul 25, 2019 11:40 PM

They have played so ungodly bad if they can it back to 9 or 10 at the half, they have a shot.

EJ Led TBT Squad • Jul 25, 2019 11:33 PM

They gonna get hammered if they dont start running offense and rebounding.

2020 Recruiting • Jul 17, 2019 04:13 AM

Idk if Self is playing the recruiting game super safe or if the FBI/NCAA witch hunt has been killing us. Still pissed they have just decided not to even look at Dook after we knew what Zion wanted and Wendell Carters name was several lists of guys that got money. Makes me not want to watch my favorite sport. It seems pretty logical that if are giving guys ranked in the 60s and higher stuff, that the Dooks, UNCs and Kentucky's of the world must be paying for the multiple top 25 guys they get every year.

KU at Big 12 Media Day • Jul 15, 2019 10:14 PM

@nuleafjhawk I wasn't very excited when Weis was hired. He was a big name for sure but did nothing at Notre Dame. A school that puts tons more into football than we ever have. Ksuck fans have been comparing the 2 hires and I think its crap. Miles gave OSU 2 wins vs OU (they only have 14 in program history vs OU) in 5 years. He gave them their first bowl win in over a decade. At LSU he won a national title, yes I realize that was with mostly Sabans guys but its gotta count for something. He also averaged 9 wins a year over 10 years in the toughest division in CFB. Weis had 2 good years with someone else's players.

Not Exactly a KU Topic... • Jul 15, 2019 01:27 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I don't think anyone found Josh's behavior acceptable. Also Allen was at Dook for the better part of 4 years, Josh was maybe here 10 months. That would give a coach a solid chance of breaking his foolish habits.

B12 Preview • Jul 14, 2019 06:22 PM

@justanotherfan agreed, interesting I've never met a KSU that wasnt arrogant. I do think KSU will be solid defensively tho.

B12 Preview • Jul 14, 2019 01:30 AM

@JAYHAWKFAN214 Texas is the most overrated CFB program in history, the only team close is ND.

Jayhawks in Vegas • Jul 13, 2019 08:57 PM

Would have loved to be there as a fly on the wall. I wouldn't care if they made me sit alone in the back as long as I could hear all the stories. Sometimes we all forget the great tradition we have at this university and how rare it is. @drgnslayr You would think that teams would really key in on it but I think that we have ran it less recently for that reason. Also there is no defense for a correctly executed offensive play, if someone blocks the the chop lane you can dribble drive or look back door.

B12 Preview • Jul 13, 2019 08:45 PM

As we have entered the dead zone for athletics here recently I figured I would give the rundown on some of the B12 schools and how I believe the conference will shake out.

Oklahoma, is the easy choice and has won the conference 5 of the last 7 years. There are some questions on the offensive line as they only return starting center Creed Humphrey. But being able to plug in Jalen Hurts as a grad transfer from Alabama and returning 8 starters on a lackluster defense from a year ago makes me believe they still hold the keys to the conference.

TCU, I think I'm higher on this TCU club than most. I think Alex Barnes will plug right into the system Patterson has down there and even look better with a stout offensive line and 7 returning starters on that side of the ball. The defense only returns 5 guys but I believe in Patterson on that side of the ball. It seems like he always has a solid year after a mediocre one (7-5 LY).

Texas, I'm not near as high on Texas as most people seems like every year we hear "Texas is back" early in the season and they falter once they play a decent team (started 6-1 LY). Having QB Sam Ehlinger back should boost Texas offensively but they only return 8 starters as a team. Tons of questions on the front 7 for the defense and an average offensive line that only sees 2 guys back from a year ago.

ISU, I think this team could be a dark horse for the conference title. I debated with myself putting them ahead of Texas. QB Brock Purdy had a solid freshman season outta nowhere. This team on paper is one of the most experienced in not only the conference but the nation. Campbell seems to fit great up in Ames, I think their schedule falls really well too.

OSU, I think it gets a little cloudy after the front 4 in this conference. I'm really not sold on Gundy being more than an average coach, he doesn't win 10 games unless he got cupcakes deluxe in September. But they do have a fair amount of experience back and added a grad transfer at QB in Dru Brown from Hawaii. If a terrible defense from a year ago can improve, they should be able to repeat or improve on LYs 7 win campaign.

Baylor, Matt Rhule enters his 3rd year in Waco after turning a 1 win team into bowl game winning team in just one season. Charlie Brewer is back under center in an offense that looks to light up the scoreboard. But much like OK State it remains to be seen if a more experienced defense can produce stops when needed.

Texas Tech, It wouldn't surprise me if any of these bottom 4 teams take 10th. All have new coaches and plenty of turnover. Matts Wells is in Lubbock now after both playing and coaching at Utah State. I put Tech here because I believe Wells inherited the best team of the bunch. QB Alan Bowman was great last season when healthy and his absence at times killed the red raiders shot at a bowl game. They get a fair share of guys back on both sides of the ball (7 offense, 6 defense) but their defense has let up over 30 points on average per game for nearly a decade.

KSU, I had a coin flip to decide Tech a head of them. I think KSU has a chance to be a sleeper to finish in the top 5 in this conference. They return QB Skylar Thompson whom Snyder had no confidence to give the keys to a year ago. It will be interesting to see what type of style new coach Chris Klieman implies there. He has won 4 national titles at the FCS level but lends only a few season as an FBS assistant for experience (one oddly enough at KU). A solid defense that returns 8 guys from LY should give them a chance to win games but look for cries for Snyder's return if they fail to reach a bowl game again (even tho they missed one with him a year ago).

Kansas, I'm tired of picking us last (sorry WVU). I think there is as much talent on this team since Mark Mangino was on the sidelines. I honestly think if Les Miles was hired before last season a bowl game was possible (lost 3 games by a combined 14 points). That being said losing everyone in the front 7 defensively and questions as always here about the QB position leave me to believe we will have to wait a year or two for that bowl game. I think having a good combination of size and experience up front with a good group of RBs will at least make this team watchable again and maybe even win a game that they have no business doing so.

WVU, Dana Holgerson in an odd moved jumped ship to Houston during the offseason. Enter new coach Neal Brown from Troy. I think Dana was tired of the pressure of winning at a small market team and left. In doing so he left the cupboard pretty bare IMO. Brown inherits an offense that only sees 3 returning starters. There are questions at QB, WR and on the line. The only position group that looks decent on paper is RB with Kennedy McKoy and Martell Pettaway both returning after averaging better than 5 yards per carry last season. WV does return 6 starters on defense but Holgerson was never known for his defenses and it showed in his time in Morgantown.

Maui Classic Bracket • Jul 13, 2019 07:38 PM

@KUSTEVE I would rather not play them, that's all.

Maui Classic Bracket • Jul 13, 2019 07:10 PM

I dont like playing a non D1 school, as @Texas-Hawk-10 said our scout team probably spanks them. Yes they have pulled a few upsets and close calls but that's just the law of averages. I bet we beat them by just as much as the exhibition opponents.

Don't Mess With Chiefs Kingdom • Jul 13, 2019 06:55 PM

I don't really know much of KK. I'm from central Kansas, but I do think he crossed the line listening to the clip. I agree with @HighEliteMajor about censorship, leftists are kicking rightwing folks off of campus, not debating them, not that I care because their all corrupt to me. I'm just not sure how it relates to the topic at hand.

NBA Chatter • Jul 13, 2019 03:59 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I agree about the trade. It will be interesting if OKC tries to get rid of Paul for picks if anyone would take him. I could see both OKC and Houston in major rebuilding soon.

NBA Chatter • Jul 13, 2019 02:40 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 they have always got along well but they both want the ball in their hands 90% of the time. That could prove to be a problem. They both are also good offensively but dont attempt to play defense. I think the rockets take a step back this season personally.

NBA Chatter • Jul 13, 2019 01:23 AM

I dont see Westbrook working out in Houston, him and Harden maybe the two hardest players to play with now that Kobe has retired. None of the above has ever been known for being good teammates.
