This team just doesn’t like winning comfortably I guess. Just rebound and make FTs and it doesn’t matter from here on out.

I feel like we are a half step behind on every long rebound and loose ball, we maybe very fortunate we are hitting 3s and Garrett is going nuts. They are out hustling us no question.

We have need every one of Marcus’s 19 with Dedric doing nothing tonight. I’m worried that this could become the norm, Dedric can’t handle a physical game.

Dave needs to play over lightfoot, he is much bigger and stronger. That helps him rebound better and could use PT to help figure it out on defense.

Our post defense is flat out nonexistent without doke, we can not stop anyone down there. Lucky they have missed about 10 from the 1 foot mark.

If we would make the free ones and rebound it would be a 10 point game.

Defense has been lousy after the first 4 minutes and free throws becoming an issue.

Lightfoot misses from point blank range, felt like I’ve said that about 800 times in the past 2 and a half years. How about Garrett my god where did this shooting come from? Told y’all he just needed to keep shooting.

I've been saying it for years, the conference is done when this deal runs out. Best hope for us is that we don't get banned and/or a ton of infractions from the NCAA for basketball. Then have Les make the football team respectable again and head to the Big 10.

@Kcmatt7 I'm not sure we know that Self lied at this point even. It is questionable how much he knew but I still stand with letting him go if we have to give away wins and titles.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Basically KU is admitting to him being ineligible during last years run and that he has sat enough to not warrant anymore of a penalty. So the question becomes does the NCAA clear him but take away last years run by forfeiting the games SDS played in? Basically all but 3 wins after he was cleared (January 13 was his first game) would be vacated along with the record 14 straight B12 titles and record 29 straight NCAA tournament appearances. I’d like to see Head Coach Bill Self fired if that happens, we have had some minor infractions in the past but never had wins vacated and it will put one Helluva black eye on this program. To make matters worse if plays out that way Zion is getting paid to play at Duke and UNC players can take fake class. NCAA=North Carolina Amnesty Association. I’m gonna be honest, this is scary to me and it could cripple Kansas Athletics beyond recovery. With conference realignment seeming inevitable yet again once the current media contract is up and if the football team is still struggling while the basketball team is a deep rebuild after several vacated accomplishments and a new coach. Hello mid major and not playing on national tv, which means not getting good recruits across the board in FB and BB.

@nuleafjhawk Kinda like I said last year when we lost 3 home games, no ones gonna care if we get to the FF and guess what no ones talking about it or cares lol.

@Woodrow Trob was born about 10 years too late to be a NBA star but its nice to see him still playing. He will always be one of my favorites.

If I was a betting man, I'd put money on Tech but then again several teams have had their chance to beat us and some as Tech was a year ago were even in good position to do so late in the season but couldn't. One of these years we won't win it, it will be interesting to see how everyone reacts lol.

Supposedly they are in the process of getting a new arena to create some buzz. Shaka prob has til they get that complete before he is canned.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Very true the team hasn’t had a winning conference record since 2000. Bonnie got lucky with sweet 16s back to back years but even in those years never finished higher than tied for 6th in the B12. I honestly thought she was a good hire when we got her, she was pretty good at Virginia Tech. This definitely a make or break year for Schneider, he needs to bare minimum finish 6th in the conference and make the NIT. That may not even be good enough to keep him around. Rich Price should’ve retired atleast 5 years ago, he’s good guy but has only finished in top half of the conference 2 times, the last being in 2014.

Mitch just snapped a ton a food on snapchat that he appeared to be eating. I doubt that it severe enough for him not to play. There is a risk of pulling the stitches but where they are at I'd say its unlikely.

KSU probably finishes 8 thru 10 this year in the B12. As @Texas-Hawk-10 said the Tech loss along with the Nebraska loss are disappointing. There is no reason this team should finish 6th in this conference. The ISU loss was expected and wasn't that bad. I watched it and we hung with them for almost 2 quarters, then couldnt hit open shots.

@jayballer73 as @Gorilla72 said David knew we had bigs when he came to town. Self said earlier in the season that Mitch would've red shirted had SDS been cleared.

Hopefully they can build off of this, they are just a few minutes from being 13-1 instead of 11-3.

@Crimsonorblue22 Yep people forget that there run at the end started with Charlie, KJ and David on the floor. Dot missed 2 fts to start it aswell. I dont blame Self, we have a game Monday so getting guys out early and being able to keep them out would be been nice.

Too many silly turnovers and missed FTs late, should've been a 15 point win. Rebounding was terrible the last 8 minutes.

@Crimsonorblue22 we killed ISU on the boards. Shooting was the issue there with defense.

Talk about a game of runs, basketball is usually that way but two pretty extreme runs. One by each team, I'll take a double digit halftime lead at any point for the rest of the year.

I'll be watching the KU game, I'm not a huge NFL fan. I used to be a big Cowboys fan as a kid (liked their colors lol) but now that I'm older the way Jones runs stuff just ticks me off. I'll watch KC or Dallas if its a good game but I don't get to fired up which is the exact opposite of how I am during KU games. I agreed with @Woodrow I feel like this is a must win to get the conference title. We need to hold serve at home and win at least 4 road games. I was shocked that they beat ISU but as normal everyone plays us way harder than anyone else.

@BeddieKU23 I would say KU has done a poor job at times but the UKs, UNCs and Dukes have had their issues aswell. It's that the NCAA clears them in seconds compared to weeks and months for KU, I know UK had a player a few years back that had a car that wasn't his and they still played him, then it came out months later it was "grandma's car". It doesn't take 2 or 3 months to come up with proof of purchase if you actually bought the dam car. The NCAA has created this mess by letting the ACC and SEC do whatever the hell they want with no consequences. Cam Newtons dad takes $250,000, well that loop hole is closed from now on but we'll let it slide this time. Does anyone really think he went to Auburn for free? Is anyone stupid enough to think Zion is playing for free at Duke right now? The card the NCAA appears to be playing right now is, work with the big money Conferences and Nike. Everyone else can go down for all they care. Maybe Self is right, maybe he didn't know about this but why would anyone come to kansas for free if they can get hundreds of thousands on the east coast? If KU was aware, why did Preston's mom tell him to hush? Why has Self sat players in question in the past? The whole thing is a giant mess and I put the bulk on the NCAA.

There should be punishment on his behalf, no question. I’m just not sure what really happened but if he’s willing to take some classes and sit out a few games I’d be fine with him being reinstated to the program.

The facilities are no longer an excuse IMO, Miles has got the best of any KU coach in history especially in terms of walking in. The locker rooms are on par with Texas’s brand new ones, the Anderson complex is fairly new and really nice, the practice fields were added after the orange bowl win and soon we will have one of the best indoor practice facilities around. Yes Memorial needs a face lift but we have improved it by removing the chain link fence and track. The real improvements will begin when the improvements start on the field. That place will fill up if we are winning on Saturdays. It has in the past.

I guess I’m not sure why this looks so bad apon KU as @approxinfinity its been over a decade since she was at KU and she was a student not an administrator or something. If you wanna google criminals I’m sure you can find dozens for most universities unfortunately. I’m just not seeing how any logical person could pin this on KU or even think it’s related.

I honestly think Self should show this team tape of that 12 team, because that who we need to turn into at this point. That team had a little better shooting but wasn't great.

Grimes just needs time to adjust, last night his issue was with foul trouble. Ochai was impressive no question and will be the next Frank/DG that will come in unheard that will break our hearts when his time done. I was impressed with how athletic he is but with that being said lets not put his Jersey up in rafters just yet, he still has plenty of growing pains that he will deal with. I think this team lacks shooters among other things to make a deep run. But yes the 4 guard line is the way to go. The NBA has gone that way aswell. Just like NFL was reluctant to go spread/read option but now that it is, it ain't leaving.

Idk I think with our OC spot now vacant, it would be a long shot, maybe even if he'd of stayed.

@BShark Yep that's the beauty of the tournament and also its dark side lol. It dont matter how many stats you look at you never can predict a guy going off for a few games and a few guys going cold. I actually think we could end up looking like a team that's a year away from winning it. I also think a good core of guys will return, we have the possibility of only losing Vick.

@approxinfinity at this point I'd say we be lucky to go past the sweet 16. A lot of depends on how much our guards can improve. You dont see deep runs from teams without excellent guard play. I think people forget how young we really are with Dotson, Grimes and Ochai all being freshmen while KJ, Charlie and Garrett are just sophomores. I'd like to see our post defense improve. If I was coaching on the opposite bench, I'd zone the heck outta us and feed the bigs. TCUs big didnt get anywhere near enough touches when we had no answers for him. I think this team has to find some shooters at some point as well, we seem to go on too many scoring droughts for my liking. Consistent scoring from someone other than Dedric and Vick (only guys in double figures and over half of our points tonight) is a must.

I think that's about as good as we are capable of playing at this point, shooting 23% from 3 is really what kept TCU in it. The 12 turnovers were a nice improvement, Vick had half them. I'm not sure if he is just trying too hard or what but he's been icey from distance and a turnover machine here lately. If he didnt have the high TO numbers he had a solid floor game. I think you're gonna start seeing the bench get smaller here with Ochai, Mitch and KJ getting most of the bench minutes. Moore has really started to play his way out and I'd be shock if does not only play sparingly but transfer at the end of the season. I'm a little disappointed that David wasn't given any more minutes but I'm not at practice to decide such things.

Not smart on Vicks part, the guy kinda cold shouldered him and wouldnt give up the ball easily could've been a double T.

Ochai should be 6th man from here on out.
