I’m sorry be the refs just turned this game wow.

Today's Games • Mar 16, 2018 06:14 PM

@BeddieKU23 that was a weak T on Marshall the team lol right there.

Today's Games • Mar 16, 2018 06:10 PM

@BeddieKU23 I think they’ll be fine once someone tells them at half time that no one on Marshall’s team can stop Shaq. Marshall should be up more WSU is shooting 32% right now.

Today's Games • Mar 16, 2018 06:08 PM

WSU just chucking 3s from the cheap seats, down by 6 late in the first half.

GAMEDAY CHAT! • Mar 16, 2018 03:25 AM

@wissox I filled out 4 brackets this year, have Arizona in 2 of my FFs, lol the last time I lost a FF opening round was MSU in 2016.

Seton Hall • Mar 16, 2018 03:19 AM

@BShark Yep I agree, if you look at our early losses, most of them happened when a big guy was hurt or couldn’t play. I think we definitely have a chance to win, I’m just concerned for Dokes status and what I mentioned previously.

Seton Hall • Mar 16, 2018 03:14 AM

@DanR @ZIG I not sure what’s with this new my opinion is right and yours is wrong stuff that I see so much around this site and in this country. Some people myself included call it as they see it. Did you think we played good today? I will be watching the game Saturday, hell I may go and I’ll be cheering like crazy. But I’m still not gonna sugar coat it, we can’t play the way we did today and win. Bill Self has struggled the most in this game and EE games since he’s been here, that’s a fact. As stated the tournament is hard, it’s really hard if you don’t have a starter on the floor or know how much he can play. 9 losses in those rounds compared to 4 in all other rounds. I don’t think anyone is insinuating that we have no chance of winning, some are just predicting a loss and I don’t blame them with how we played not only today but several other games this season where it looked like the whole team had a date with Kate Upton 30 minutes after after the game.

I would be shocked to see any coaching changes in the B12 at this point. @justanotherfan I think Prohm is pretty save at this point, one bad year after who they lost. I think the seat is getting hot on our buddy Lon down in Norman. He returned everyone from a year ago for the most part and added a top recruit. They really stunk up the place the last 2 months of the season, everyone knows they only got in for viewership and ratings, any other team in that situation not being a blue blood (big fan bases) most likely is in the NIT.

GAMEDAY CHAT! • Mar 16, 2018 02:28 AM

@BShark @Crimsonorblue22 I would be shocked if he stayed, he said projected in the top 8 picks in every mock draft I’ve seen. I personally wouldn’t draft him, he’s a Steph Curry but doesn’t shoot it near as well or have the handles that Curry does. The NBA drafts off of potential but never gives anyone time to develop.

Seton Hall • Mar 16, 2018 02:24 AM

Unfortunately I don’t think we will win this one, I’d be glad to be wrong tho. I honestly thought we were super lucky today, Penn shot 5-14 from the line and 6-16 on layups according to ESPN. I still think we would’ve most likely won but they hurt themselves for a team that struggles to score. We need Doke to be ready to play a good chunk of minutes. The good thing is Doke only averages 24 minutes a game so if continues to progress he maybe able to come close to that come Saturday. We will need Mitch to repeat his preformance from today or Silvio even if Doke can play. One things forsure regardless wether it was nerves or whatever else, we flatout can not play the way we did for the first 13 minutes, especially offensively. 11 flipping points, we were lucky to not be down 15 or more to that point. The good news is DG playing pretty well and will hopefully rally the troops. Does anyone know when they will release the game time?

GAMEDAY CHAT! • Mar 16, 2018 12:00 AM

@BShark MJ is announcing games now, the ceiling is the roof!!! Lmao

Doke Out First Weekend? • Mar 14, 2018 03:12 AM

@JayHawkFanToo Does the better seed always win? No further questions your honor.

Doke Out First Weekend? • Mar 14, 2018 02:47 AM

@JayHawkFanToo Ranking mean absolutely nothing in the tournament, don’t care which ones you look at.

Doke Out First Weekend? • Mar 14, 2018 02:46 AM

Just watched the hawks arrive in Wichita, Self had a brief interview. Doesn’t sound like Doke won’t play Thursday but maybe suited up just in case. Self he wouldn’t have practice by Thursday so he not in favor of playing him. Sounds like he said he’d like to get some pt Saturday for sure but seemed hesitant on how much. I’d expect him out Thursday forsure now and probably not start Saturday, will probably depend on how things go on how much he plays then.

Reason # 87 to hate ESPN • Mar 14, 2018 12:17 AM

What in tarnation! How could you live in this country and not know KUs mascot, especially if you cover or write on CBB.

Doke Out First Weekend? • Mar 13, 2018 06:07 PM

I would be shocked if he played thursday but more so if he didnt play against NC State or Seton Hall.

Bush League KS 1A Hoops Play • Mar 13, 2018 01:54 AM

@justanotherfan I don’t think it’s a small town HS thing ether, we used to get pretty rough with each other out here in the sticks with elbows and some pushing, maybe a kidney shot but that’s as extreme as I’ve seen. When I was coaching we used to press late in games if we was up by a possession or two. We wouldn’t guard the in bounder, would switch everything and have one back deep to protect from the home run. We always told him no one gets a easy bucket, even if you have to foul but I also reminded him not to tackle someone. Just contest the shot as best as you can and if you foul it better be a foul that he can’t get an and one. The kids I coached were younger than high school all but 1 year, by that time most people know you can’t hit someone in mid air because that’s when someone is most vulnerable, it doesn’t take much contact to accidentally foul someone hard. To put both hands on him and not know that would happen, the kid would’ve been in highschool for 10 years.

Penn Quakers - Thursday - 1 pm - TBS • Mar 13, 2018 01:40 AM

@wrwlumpy I guess I think it’s stupid to worry about what’s going on in the cities, most the time the players spend most of their day in the hotel room. I guess big lights are fun to look a lol, I’d say if a guy is so worried about that he has his focus in the wrong area forsure.

Where we've played since 2000 • Mar 13, 2018 01:36 AM

@wissox good info, I almost wonder if last year didn’t put more pressure on us being pretty much a home game. Oregon wasn’t supposed to be that far anyway and was playing with house money.

Bracketology thread for the next few weeks. • Mar 12, 2018 03:45 AM

@BShark like I said earlier IMO, MSU and Dook are the most talented teams in the bracket. Doesn’t necessarily mean they are the best but it’s does looked like we got jobbed from the stand point that MSU, Dook are ranked in the top 5 in the latest AP and Coaches Poll. I personally feel like we get the toughest bracket about 80% of the time but there isn’t a easy road bye any stretch and if you’re the best you got beat the best.

Bracketology thread for the next few weeks. • Mar 12, 2018 03:36 AM

@wissox @Kcmatt7 Nebraska got robbed IMO, when’s the last time a power 5 team had 13 conference wins and didn’t get in? While teams like Syracuse, Oklahoma, Texas and Arizona State all had finished 2 games below .500, Arizona State while playing in the weakest power 5 conference. I don’t like the idea of rewarding teams for wins in November and December because most teams get better as the year goes on, these teams got worse. Does anyone think we would lose to Washington or Arizona State if we played ether right now, I sure as heck don’t.

Bracket Discussion • Mar 12, 2018 02:55 AM

@BShark Is Penn seeded wrong? Yes, should we be scared of them? Hell No, we have been here before with under seeded 16 in 2013 when beat Western Kentucky by just 7 points. We also barely squeaked by a under seeded 15 in Utah State by 3 in 2003. Even without Doke it should be a double digit win IMO.

Newman- will he stay or will he go? • Mar 12, 2018 02:41 AM

Ya I don’t really think Vick is a head case at this point, he is a really quiet guy and does seem to show a whole lotta emotion. I follow him on snap chat and I think he is home sick sometimes and misses his daughter. I’d never fault the young man for that, I think he could be a lottery pick with a good year next or even be a first rounder this year if he is a key part of a deep run.

Bracket Discussion • Mar 12, 2018 02:35 AM

@Kcmatt7 they did lose to Toledo, a team we beat by 40 points. Not that carries a ton weight as early as those games were.

Thursday 1PM CST • Mar 12, 2018 02:15 AM

@Gunman it’s hard to narrow it down to toughest or saddest. They all hurt a little I think, that 97 team was amazing, all the Final four loses hurt especially the title games because it’s so hard to get there and you never know when we’ll get back. The 05 and 10 upsets hurt because we had guys that had N.C. experience on both teams and talent to beat anyone. 11 and 13 hurt because we had such favorable roads if we were to pull of those wins. The last two years hurt because the guys like Perry, Mari, Frank and LL worked so hard for years and come so close to getting a big banner.

Thursday 1PM CST • Mar 12, 2018 02:03 AM

If I was to move to a bigger city it would probably be LFK. My wife actually applied for a job in the area several years ago but didn’t get it. I don’t think we’d move anytime soon, we have a kid now which makes it harder to move. Lawrence definitely has some shady part too but over all the crime is considerably less there compared to KC, Topeka and Wichita for it being one of the bigger cities in the state. Plus if we moved up there I’d go broke going to KU games and my wife would kill me lol. @BShark I live in a town of 600 people, Wichita is an hour away and Salina is 30 minutes away so it not to far to do anything and living in a smaller town is way cheaper than the city. We’d loved to live out in the country but it’s too expensive.

Thursday 1PM CST • Mar 12, 2018 01:57 AM

@jayballer73 Everytime I go down 21st in Wichita right off the interstate toward Koch Arena, that little gas station is loaded with cops for one reason or another. I’m a small town guy, I love peace and quiet. No bass bumping all hours of the night and it’s a safe place for kids.

Why I hate WVU • Mar 12, 2018 01:20 AM

@KUSTEVE We all would expect that from you haha.

Thursday 1PM CST • Mar 12, 2018 12:49 AM

@truehawk93 The neighborhoods I could afford to live in Wichita, I’d get my TV stolen every night lol. WSU is in such a crappy part of town, I had some friends that went there it was prefectly normal for their cars to get broke into. Old Town used to be decent when I was younger, now someone gets shot or stabbed almost weekly there.

Thursday 1PM CST • Mar 12, 2018 12:26 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 Never been to a tournament game I’ll be happy if I can go at all.

Thursday 1PM CST • Mar 12, 2018 12:25 AM

@BShark Ya, you could say that lol. It’s just to close no to go, intrust is an hour from my driveway. The trouble is right now tickets are $250 and I’m too poor for that.

Thursday 1PM CST • Mar 12, 2018 12:23 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 No lol

Thursday 1PM CST • Mar 12, 2018 12:20 AM

Crappy game time lol, I think @cragarhawk and I may try to go Saturday, if we win of course.

Bracket Discussion • Mar 12, 2018 12:02 AM

NC State is also a team that we can’t sleep on, they beat Dook and UNC this season so they won’t be intimidated by any stretch. If we can get passed that second round match up I like our chances of getting to our 3rd straight E8. Bill Self and this staff seldom lose in first games of the weekend, 9 second game losses compared to 4 first game losses.

Bracket Discussion • Mar 11, 2018 11:49 PM

I said on the other thread that you could make a strong case for Penn as a 14 seed. Maybe it will help keep us focused, one thing forsure we don’t wanna be the first 1 seed to lose to a 16.

Bracketology thread for the next few weeks. • Mar 11, 2018 10:48 PM

@BeddieKU23 anyone can be beaten lol

Bracketology thread for the next few weeks. • Mar 11, 2018 10:46 PM

@BeddieKU23 Michigan State is much much better this year obviously they have a 3 seed not a 9. That and we are no where near as athletic as a year ago. It really it’s gonna depend on how we shoot, one game at a time.

Bracketology thread for the next few weeks. • Mar 11, 2018 10:43 PM

I’m a little worried about a Duke or MSU match in the EE, those two teams may have the most talent in the field. But we’d have to get there first.

Bracketology thread for the next few weeks. • Mar 11, 2018 10:39 PM

I think we got the best 16 seed bye leaps and bounds, none of the roads are easy let’s go.

Bracketology thread for the next few weeks. • Mar 11, 2018 10:20 PM

So the B12 get 7 teams in: Kansas, West Virginia, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Texas, TCU and Oklahoma. I’d would’ve took Baylor or Okie State over Oklahoma with how they finished. Interesting that Syracuse got in.

Tyshawn • Mar 11, 2018 09:15 PM

@BShark Tyshawn should’ve been an All-American with how he played the second half of his senior year. I love the Self quote on Ty ā€œHe’ll make plays that can’t be coached, then he’ll make plays that make you wonder if he’s ever been coachedā€. Ty was a fun guy to talk to when I briefly got the chance and was very important to that FF run in 12. I hate all the negativity I’ve seen from our fan base this year, it has really rubbed me wrong. I’m kinda worried if we don’t stop with it, we could end up like the UK scum.

Bracketology thread for the next few weeks. • Mar 11, 2018 07:46 PM

@BShark this year the bubble is crazy, the committee will leave out some guys that thought they were in. It will be interesting to see if the B12 gets 6,7 or 8 teams in. I’d say most likely 7.

Newman- will he stay or will he go? • Mar 11, 2018 06:38 PM

If we have a good run he’s gone, look at the 08 title team and some of the numbers those guys had that got draft weren’t crazy numbers. They just good when it counted and the NBA seems to like that.

Blue Blood Coaching • Mar 11, 2018 06:35 PM

@JayHawkFanToo If it’s orgins UCLA is easily out, they pretty much stank before Wooden, than have stank every year but about 6 since the mid 70s.

Other Games Tonight • Mar 11, 2018 04:05 AM

See that Texas Southern got in today, Self is always smart in scheduling a few teams that are likely to make the dance as a 16 or 15.

Other Games Tonight • Mar 11, 2018 04:02 AM

@BShark looks like SFA is gonna pull it off, so many good games this time of year. The little leagues sometimes give the wildest finishes, making the tournament is such a big deal and thats part of the reason you see upsets. All the pressure is off them and they are playing with house money from there on.

Bush League KS 1A Hoops Play • Mar 11, 2018 03:57 AM

@BShark yes very close lol when my wife was at KU they always called Lecompton ā€œThe French Ghettoā€, not for any particular reason just as an inside joke.
