@drgnslayr ya I feel for the kid, sitting there knowing how much he could help this team and not knowing if we will be as good next season. I would say it was good timing for an injury (injuries are never good) because he should be working on rehabilitation for half the summer and all of fall before practice starts. Where if this had happened recently we would have to learn to play without him and he probably would miss sometime next season because of it. If we don't get to the FF I'll always wonder how much Doke could've help us along the way.

@ralster we need everyone, the chances of getting in foul trouble are high if you play the 6 games. I think some of it is the law of averages. Think about how we struggled with Davidson in 08 and how Nova struggled and barely escaped us last year. To get there it takes a team effort. Hopefully these guys remember how close they were to being a NC team last year. I think our guys play hard most of the time but sometimes it's like we must be down 10 or so before we really start to fight. Which we can't afford to do in NCAAs, teams are too good.

@ralster I think Frank will always impact the game. But no doubt he will have an off shooting night if we get to the NC. I doubt he has 6 straight good shooting games. That being said one of many guys will have the chance to step up. Hopefully he imposes his will when he needs to. Not to bring up bad times but Sherron never really got going vs UNI. Which blew my mind and flat out sucks that's the last memory of him in a KU uni, the same could be said of EJ's epic collapse vs Michigan. Loved those guys, still do. It was just hard to watch them lose to teams that we all know we were better than.

@drgnslayr no big deal, I just want a true post that a team has to respect offensively, sorry LL love ya and you have grown a ton but you ain't got much offense. I think it opens up the floor so much better for driving lanes and eats up a double team most of the time.

Truthfully I don't give a darn about the #1 overall seed. As long we get the Midwest #1 and KC it really doesn't matter. We were the #1 overall last year and still got most likely the toughest bracket.

@drgnslayr he shot more 3s as a senior. Perry wasn't a back to the basket player much at all.

I think we will look a lot like this line up we currently have. Which I don't think is much different than Perry LY. He wasn't a true forward, he got most his points from jump shots or driving from the top of the key. He wasn't a back to the basket type of player. Im really hoping Doke turns in to that, I'm not sure we have had a true post player on offense that can score since Trob, maybe Withey. Obviously Joel was but he wasn't playing late in the year when it mattered most.

Travis Ford you say? He isn't the guy that coached Okie state with multiple top five recruits and couldn't win jack squat? Lol

@jaybate-1.0 Your 3 numbers are a little off, he averages 2.2 makes off of 4.6 shots per game. He has only shot 134 on the year. I think his knee or leg looks good personally, just think he will need help. Some other guys have to play well other than him for us to make the FF IMO.

The B12 is easily the most competitive and entertaining IMO. The teams are very evenly matched, but that doesn't make us a great league. If we want to be up with the ACC, we have to perform in the NCAAs. That's just the way it is. I think we are only getting 5 this year so hopefully we can have 3 or 4 make it outta the first weekend.

@BShark I hope we get him, mainly because Self wants him for a reason.

Interesting to me that Self wants the kid from HCC with Doke, Bragg, Lightfoot and Coleby returning I'm not sure he gets a ton of minutes.

@Blown doubt he'd leave from in conference. One of my co workers when to HS with Underwood, he grew up in the same area as me. My buddy said last year that Brad was no way going anywhere where ADCurry was but he's gone now. I still would highly bet against it.

@mayjay agreed. You have to play thru bad calls, it's what tough teams do.

Teams I dont want to see mid major wise are Middle Tennessee, UT Arlington and WSU (maybe i really wanna play them if we can win). I think you will see a KU, WSU match up the NCAA committee always tries to match up a story to the games IMO for higher ratings. Like us playing UNC often and playing WSU 2 years ago. I'm not worried about playing UNC, Zaga and Nova becuase they are most likely to also get a 1 seed and we wont have to deal with them til the FF. I always hate playing against Izzo teams in march, they are kinda sleep walking into the dance currently and any Izzo team can make FF. I think UK maybe the most talented team, but can they put it together. I bet they are a 2 seed so us and them if placed in the same bracket have to do some winning before a match up happens. All in all idc who we play, to me its simple go play hard as @KUSTEVE said we are our own enemy. Coach wooden never watched film on teams they were playing, he was just worried about how they played.

@approxinfinity @cragarhawk I always like to see peoples views on stuff, good or bad. No one individual or team is perfect. This team can be crazy good at times and crazy bad at times. It would boring to watch us play great all the time, which no one does or to be like fizzou and watch us play terrible all the time lol. I love the positive posts and topics but I also enjoy read about our flaws, to see if we can over come them.

@cragarhawk I agree, nothing wrong with being disappointed after we were out played for 35 minutes bye a 19 loss team in our own building. I was cussed out repeatedly my first week on this site 2 years ago for saying WSU would smoke us easily and they did. I'm realistic, we have to play better to go past the first weekend. News flash just about every team in the NCAA tournament will be better than OU and the game won't be at AFH. I expect to lose games, some folks on here, god bless them, think we are going to stomp the living daylights outta every team we play. I'd be more concerned will them not taking the loss. Rather than someone that upset with playing poorly or getting out hustled.

@Blown @RockChalkinTexas After how Svi has played here lately I see no chance of him getting drafted. I think this is one of the stronger OAD classes myself. I've said all year I bet we don't lose both DG and Svi, maybe one I'll stick to it and remember how young Svi still is. Which IMO helps his case to stay. We also have the Arizona state transfer next year that guys haven't mentioned much on here with Malik.

The way Self called out DG to stay I'd say there's a good chance he goes.

We actually played good defense OU only shot 35% from the floor. Rebounding was terrible outside of the last 8 minutes, we gave them 20 second chance points but ended up edging them bye 3 total.

@stoptheflop @DanR this is the worst half because OU is 170 in RPI while ISU and WVU are top 30. This on paper is the easiest game this calendar year.

Boy Frank may circle this game that costs him POY with missed bunnies and FTS. Hopefully we wake up, him and Josh have been terrible for the most part.

@cragarhawk I agree, it's hard for me to say that the big 12 is great if they don't perform in March. The norm has been 60%-70% of the teams get in, which is good but other than last year we hadn't had a FF team since 2012. If the B12 wants to be compared to the ACC we have to get more FFs. The same token to us, if want to be compared to dook we have to win more titles. That's just how it is, like it or not.

Man it will be a tough night when Frank speaks, he's such a mellow guy I doubt he gets emotional. Remember how Mari's was and Sherron's? Those probably are hardest in resent memory.

Awe yes I remember this day very well. I was only able to watch the first half, I was coaching in a MAYB tournament that day. I was so ticked on the way to our game lol. I didn't have a DVR but luckily some of our fans were tracking it. It was a fun day.

The game wasn't prefect bye any stretch but I thought we played well as a whole. Very proud of Coleby, we may need a bench player to step up in March, don't matter who it maybe but encouraging to see the 8 or 9 guy show he can be the difference in a game ( check Grayson Allen in 2015 title game). DG is shooting his way outta a slump, Mason wasn't great but made plays when we needed him too. JJ was his usual self in pissing me of with missed highlight reel dunks. LL had a good outing, Svi has got to start hitting his shots and not having freshman turnovers. Vick and Bragg did decent besides Bragg's silly fouls.
