It is unbelievably hot in here I’ll you that, we are dripping with sweat
Just need to wake up a bit, with the turnovers and defense we are lucky to be ahead
Be nice to get back on defense
@mayjay won’t let me post them
We made it!
How funny would it be if Howard went there and won a NC. KSU fans think they are going to be all world next season
@dylans only bad seats are one up in the corners, thoses are sketchy and not great.
@Gorilla72 about half way up in section 9, anything closer was $209 plus fees per ticket would’ve been $1200 or more. GA I could’ve gone for $65 a piece but too cold to wait outside with kids for 2 hours.
Only $1k for 4 tickets lol
Well I bit the bullet, will be in Allen Saturday for the kiddos first game.
@wissox I wasn’t there so I’m not trying hate too much.
Alabama’s starting center just hit the portal, let’s go get him.
These rankings is why I still prefer RPI, the knock on that was it put too much on SOS but some of these ratings are both sort of laughable. I like KenPom for sure but still the worst bracket I filled out was using there system.
@wissox sounds like a terrible coach in reality, you have all season to develop someone to at least be a decent player. Why do you think Self went to the bench early Saturday? Trying to get some young guys times to develop.
I’m disappointed to not have a home and home with ISU in basketball. Also not playing them every year in football two very long rivalries. The conference looks super tough and I think it’s the best in the land for probably the 4th time in the last five season. Would not be shocked to see 2 teams reach the final four. Need to follow formula of taking care of business at home and stealing some road wins.
SEC is gonna claim it if Texas wins, I think Michigan spanks whomever wins this game personally. That defensive line is NFL caliber all the way across and 2 deep in some positions
@wissox love how everyone just thinks they are going to come in here and dominate us and the conference next season.
Let’s make 2024 the year of the Jayhawk!!
@FarmerJayhawk Depth is gonna become a major issue in college football. Within the next few season lots of teams will have trouble going two deep. Which very important on the defensive line and linebacker spot.
Armja Reed-Adam has entered the portal started at both guard and tackle and this season for us
Butker looking good this afternoon lol
Do I need to separate @Crimsonorblue22 and @nuleafjhawk haha
Gotta get some pressure on browning
@nuleafjhawk was waiting for you to put that on Mahomes somehow lol
@rockchalkjayhawk yep like clock work unfortunately
Damn it I hate being right so often feed #10
@rockchalkjayhawk better line, receivers that actually catch the ball.
Offense needs to run solely thru Pacheco, he needs it every down til they stop him.
2 dropped passes and 1 turnover, but only one penalty. Sadly all 3 are improvement from the second half of the season.
Same movie on repeat
@BShark he’s just trying to get some PT for the young guys. Starting Saturday we will likely only see 7 or 8 guys plays. Unless foul trouble shows up
@FarmerJayhawk yep size, speed and arm strength are god given. Look no further than Josh Freeman of KSU dude was total trash in college but had the 3 listed items and got several chances because of it.
Didn’t get a chance to watch today, decided to take the kids out to a movie and arcade to get out of the house. Listen to some of the second half sounds like we only played down to their level for the first 10 minutes. Will try to watch it later on.
@dylans Jake Heaps I think is who you mean? Him and Dane Christ both got chances but we’re hot garbage. Ressing never got his shot because he was 5’10 standing on his tip toes.
Looking at possibly next Saturday or another Saturday later in the season. Anyone know how many rows there are in the field house? I’m thinking 26 but not sure.
@nuleafjhawk that’s like I said earlier, I’d rather have KUs receivers than KCs and that’s by a wide margin
@Texas-Hawk-10 @Crimsonorblue22 I think Bean will get invited to an NFL camp at this point. I don’t think he’ll be a starter or major player but his world class speed and deep ball accuracy are great.
Anyone confused on why the hype is so high on the Johnson kid for KSU? What I watched of the game they were comparing him Trevor Lawrence and then saying no he’s already better especially running. I think he’s a great runner but completing 45% of his passes and most of his work coming in the screen game. I’m just not ready to name the position after him just yet lol. I think they’ll have trouble keeping him healthy if he is as reckless next season.
@BeddieKU23 spot on, why does it make a darn if he sat with Hunter at the football game or was roommates with Kevin 2 years ago? That makes them bad people because they know him or were buddies? Guys never been in trouble to this point that we have knowledge of, not sounding like this is a common occurrence. The other thing and the most important, we have zero idea if he’s guilty at this time.
@nuleafjhawk it’s should’ve been WV and UNC then lol
@approxinfinity Culture on both sides is a huge issue in something like this. Raising both men and women to make better decisions. We all went to college or spent time at college parties with women that spent more time with their clothes off rather than on after consuming alcohol. There is a reason why NBA and NFL rookie orientation go over watching out for women whom want to get knocked up or make fake sexual assaults. Obviously we don’t know enough about this case to pass any accurate judgement at this point. Society has to do better on all fronts to help prevent such from happening.
I got to be honest after watching the some of the other bowls yesterday including the Pop Tarts Bowl. I’m still salty about how egregious the coverage and commentary was for our game. You would’ve thought it wasn’t even a ESPN primetime game.
@AsadZ he finishes his career #7 in all time passing yards and 2nd in passing touchdowns (huge gap from Ressing to everyone else) so he’s gonna be in the record books here for a while. Believe he is also is tied with Ressing with 6 passing touchdowns in a game.
@jayballer67 UCF already lost. OU is playing a true freshman QB and had gobs of players sitting out or transferring. Would be a big win considering such.
B12 has looked pretty good outside of UCF. Still wild to me they gave Gus that huge extension
Looks like KSU is in good shape 😞
@nuleafjhawk Missouri- Ohio State root for a plane crash! Kidding but I will never root for Missouri likely even if they played the antichrist. Roll Buckeyes! I’m howling with the wolf pack this evening. My friend Devonte Graham is a Raleigh naive lol
I was sitting thinkng about what this years team was able to accomplish by winning our 7th bowl game in history and winning 9 or more games for also the 7th time in KU history. I decided while we wait for Saturdays basketball match up, I’d ranking my top 5 KU football teams.
-
2007 12-1- The orange bowl team known for winning the first and only new years 6 bowl in program history lead by Todd Ressing, Kerry Meier, Brandon McAnderson and co on offense. That until recently was easily the greatest offense in KU history (still is). The defense led by Darrell Stucky, Aqib Talib and James McClinton were no slouches either. Coached by Mark Mangino
-
1947 8-1-2 Big Six conference champions wouldn’t lose a game until their final one in the schools first not only bowl appearance but orange bowl. They had 2 tie games one with big 6 co-champions OU and the other TCU to open the season. Lead by all-American Ray Evans, Don Fambrough and the Double threat from Sublette Otto Schnellbacher. These guys played all 3 phases of the game most the time. This team coached by George Sauer holds the record for most points scored in a game with 86 against South Dakota.
-
1968 9-2 Big 8 co-champions again with OU would only lose 2 games by a combined 5 points against top 6 teams in OU and Penn State in the programs second orange bowl appearance. The offense was lead by KU legends Bobby Douglass and John Riggins. While future Pro Bowler John Zook led a tough nosed defense. This team not only has KUs last conference championship but also was the last KU team to win in Lincoln, Nebraska. Pepper Rodgers was at the helm for this group.
-
1995 10-2 Aloha Bowl champions coached by Glen Mason this would be Kansas’ third 10 win season and first in 90 years. The first Kansas team since 1968 to finish the season ranked in the AP top 10. Lead by KU running back great June Henley and WR Isaac Bird offensively. While the defense featured 3rd round draft pick Dorian Brew at cornerback and a strong defensive line lead by Dan Dercher.
-
2023 9-4 Guaranteed Rate Bowl Champions, this was a toss up between several teams including the 10-0 1905 Jayhawks, 1992 Aloha bowl champions and the 2008 insight bowl champs. Looking at the tough schedule this team faced and the challenges at the QB position with JD being out. Add in how down ridden this program has been the 15 seasons, I think this is accurate.
Feel free to debate or make your own list. Fun fact of the day: KU as of right now has the same amount of bowl wins in the last 20 years as Kansas State with 4. Obviously that could change tomorrow but still funny for the power house they claim to be.
It’s hard not to be super excited for next seasons offense even with coach K leaving. A great core of RBs and receivers to go with JD 6. Keeping him healthy and beefing up a little up front will be the keys.
Man I hope we crush these fools in September
