@DanR He held him from the 5 all the way in. You can't negate holding a guy by continuing the hold and then tackling someone!

I hate flopping in every sport
It really sucks in tennis. Everyone does it in swimming, though. Quite counterproductive in hurdles.
Only 1 possible title of that book...The Round Mound of Rebound.
Guarantee it would sell more copies.
@BeddieKU23 Looks like Braun from the side!
Creighton seems determined to win the game for a few plays, then they seem to want to hand the ball to Ark to catch up. Impressive if they could 1) clean up the ball handling, and 2) defend the arc.
Will Wednesday's game be sponsored by the NCAA and IARP?
@wissox said in World Cup thread!:
@approxinfinity Thanks you too @AsadZ I'm not too knowledgeable about how the world cup works.
I have no idea. Best I can figure it, for us here in the US, we continually: trash the coaches of the team and how they are selected, lament our performances in the Cup over the years (heightened by nonstop disappointment for when we don't qualify), get extraordinarily offended when the corrupt FIFA responds to major bribery corruption by awarding the Cup to brutal host countries whose only qualification is enough assets to generate far more corruption, threaten to protest about the brutal host country's brutality, and seemingly get most upset because an Islamic law country decides not to allow alcohol.
Ok, being satirical here, but I am totally shocked by how much anger was expended by people totally offended before the Cup by virtually everything related to Qatar, but now it is all about the games after all. What would happen if people just didn't watch?
@wissox Squeaky won all of the Losing While Trying Harder titles sponsored by UI and KSU.
@kubuckets Nice article. Thx!
But doesn’t it piss you off that KUSports.com populates their current news pages with headlines and links from months or even years ago?
@Jethro He doesn't see his role as CBB bench coach. He is an NBA talent acquisition director.
@dylans Ignoring it probably would include not taking potshots from the side, of which this last one was not your first. Until your comment, it was a spirited discussion. If I recall, you got so mad at people disagreeing with you that you threw out some snide comments and left for awhile.
Can't you just let your feud with TH go?
If I were LL, I would have an extra incentive to stay--to prove yesterday, not the first 5 games, was a fluke.
I am flummoxed by the idea that anyone could think that Norm coached the game very differently from how the guy he has assisted for some two decades would have wanted him to.
Absurd to think this was due to who coached.
The speculating on players leaving keeps moving up every year!
@DanR Hope your mom is okay!
Thx, everyone. Home now. Not too much pain (they do a local while you are under the general, to enable the discomfort to come back only slowly; just like a dentist). Just don't like the moving slow and having to get up so awkwardly. But my wife is the best of the bunch...and is repaying me, she says, for the hours I have been in hospital waiting room during procedures!
Best part was going to bed at halftime and waking up before surgery to the news that we won! RCJH!!! I will watch it later.
3 charges drawn by 3 diff ku guys

We're getting calls against Duke!!!
Refs might be getting revenge all year.
@jayballer67 Thx! I have definitely learned a lot from so many people who seem to have had hernias. Mostly, pay attention to the recovery restrictions!
My dad had double hernia surgery due to having set a situps record in the Army Air Force base he was in during WW2. 2600 situps. Always regretted it!
I am ok except for having to stay up so late to see the game after UK/MSU double overtime. It will start at 10:25 here.
Problem is I go in for hernia surgery tomorrow, reporting for slice and dice at 6. Should be easy to put me to sleep!
Never had a surgery before except for a few oral surgeries. Wish me luck!
@rockchalkjayhawk Chiefs said JuJu was laughing and acting normal in the locker room after the game. Hoping he will be back by next Sunday but it would be pretty amazing if he was.
I don't know if the refs can review a play like that. The Chiefs quoted afterwards said things like it should be able to be reviewed in order to avoid mistakes like this, so maybe the refs couldn't look at replay to see if their call was wrong.
@dylans Great idea! Only problem is that first step of taking up golf...and then getting better than some 99.99% of all the other golfers.
I can tell you the first few million guys, like me, should be fairly easy to beat out!
I hadn't heard this before. Poor guy died at the end of October. If there was a post about it, I missed it.
@jayballer67 Thx!
@benshawks08 Kinda looks like the HS Ecstasy dealer in virtually every TV police show. Except the British ones, which all seem to have pimply kids.
About Nichols...did she already sign? Because I thought coaches can't comment after just an oral commitment. I could very well be wrong, but I don't follow the twists and turns of recruiting...
Combining the theme of the original post, about TCU's injurious play, with the discussion about their small attendance and limited alumni base...is it possible that there is a disproportionate percentage of orthopedic surgeons who secretly root for the Horned Frogs?
I keep telling you to subscribe to The Athletic:

There is an absolutely batshit crazy game going on in Dallas between Houston and SMU. With 3:37 left, SMU leads Houston 77-63. There has been about 1,300 yards of offense so far and SMU's QB has thrown 9 TD passes while Tune for UH has 7 TD passes.
After the first sentence I literally checked to make sure I had not accidentally clicked on the outlandish basketball scrimmage thread!
@Texas-Hawk-10 said in Dare yourselves to be optimistic! KU Football:
With KU gaining bowl eligibility, the new longest active bowl drought among Power 5 school belongs to Nebraska.
Well, crap. I hope LL doesn’t think he HAS to be rebuilding somewhere.
Doke and Obaji both played in 2 games for the Jazz this week. Not much stat-wise but nice they are getting some time. Most recent game they each only played 1 min, no stats. Glad Doke wasn't released.
I am glad we have lots of expert opinions here to help us understand this, but like an insanity case in court the opinions are all over the place!

Yes, a Final 4. But also known for carrying the parade banner for Linda Lovelace in the movie Linda Lovelace for President!
@BeddieKU23 Especially since most of the 5 charges were based on a theory of boosterism that involved sayng we had an obligation to supervise and control independent companies who also worked with numerous other schools.
@nwhawkfan The 13th market actually puts them in the bottom half of the mlb tv markets (17th, by my count) since LA, SF, NY, and Chicago all have multiple teams. There is also a significant dropoff in size from top to middle.
@BeddieKU23 It is also why he is good at keeping the team together when they play poorly. He might say something like the Topeka YMCA comment, but he doesn't pull a Penny Hardaway.
@FarmerJayhawk In the Athletic's take, it was pointed out in a few comments that this was the first time in all the realignments that a P5 conference seems to be looking at a basketball-only school as worth adding in its own right.
@rockchalkjayhawk I think it isn't lying so much as cover. Two things could simultaneously be true and if he is authorized to speak only about one, it is not lying to do so.
@Woodrow This is what I posted in the Devonte thread (which digressed into a lot of players)a few days ago when Jethro asked the same question:
"Last played in the NBA with Portland last year. Had a tryout in Sept with Golden State but not signed. May be waiting for a team to need a vet, because I can’t find anything indicating he has gone overseas.
"Made $30.9 million in his career, averaging 9 pts and 2.3 assists."
If he learns to drive and dish a bit later, his FT opportunities should increase.
@focojayhawk That article could explain a lot of the perceptions of this guy, and rapid blood sugar fluctuations can certainly lead to inappropriate anger and aggression.
Someone created a separate thread. Logan has nothing to do with the fb games this weekend, so maybe mods move it to there?.
I'd like some idea what the "incident within the program" was before I celebrate too much. But Coach L doesn't seem like he would go for troublemakers, so fingers crossed.
Edit: Okay, I see that this story is in the Halloween Weekend Games thread.
Ochai had his best game, 7 pts in 18 mins. Even got mentioned in a The Athletic article about the 5-2 Jazz finding a new hero every game.
3 games, 5.3 average. But 0 for 5 from 3, so he needs to find his NBA long distance range!

@ReggieKansas I think you missed my pun....
