@BeddieKU23 this makes me wonder...is there almost no talk whatsoever about college football NIL or have I just tuned it out? For a few years now ALL I hear about college basketball revolves around how much money they make, what TV commercials they're doing, etc, etc. I really don't notice that about football.

A friend of mine went on a soul-searching journey to Iceland a few years ago. On about day 3 she called me and was just SOBBING. I immediately panicked. I thought she'd been assaulted, robbed, injured - all those things that run through your mind.
It turns out that she was overwhelmed by the natural beauty that she saw everywhere. Waterfalls. Rivers. Cliffs. Lush greenery. The ocean. She said it was incredibly beautiful!
I've wanted to go since then, but the timing (and the money) hasn't worked out yet.
@wissox Just out of curiosity, why Switzerland? Do you have ancestors from there? Did you have an old girlfriend from there? Did you win a trip on The Price is Right?
@wissox I can help you with this - try the Swiss cheese. It's holy. Also, Swiss Miss hot chocolate is quite lovely. And ....oh yeah.....they have great army knives.

@dylans This is way off course, but I just now had a phone call from Sirius XM. I dumped their worthless "service" 3 or 4 weeks ago and they have called or emailed every single day since. I was with them for 18 years and every year I had to battle with them over pricing. Last year I told them "I'm done. Cancel my subscription" The fellow said he would lock in the price ($6.75 for each vehicle) and the price would never change and we would never get another call from them. SOLD!
So last month sometime Capitol One texts us and says "Hey, this charge went from $13.50 to $34. 75. Is that ok?" God bless Capitol One. So I call Sirius, and very politely tell them to shove everything they can find up their thieving asses and I went to using Android Auto. I listen to whatever I want free of charge.

@kjayhawks True story. In 1995 I was bored out of my mind (it's a chronic problem in the town where I live) and told my father-in-law that we were taking a road trip. KU and Oklahoma State were playing in Stillwater and it was something to do. They were both unbelievably awful so we weren't expecting great things, just something to take the edge off of the boredom.
We walked up to the ticket office and basically the lady said - pick your seats, they're all available. I picked a couple around the 45 yard line and she said "that'll be $76" I was like - no no no. I don't want season tickets! (The small college in our town charged $2) We settled for the $19 seats in the end zone.
Anyway, KU won so I guess it was worth it.
@kjayhawks It's probably because they always have free concessions. All you can eat/drink for free. Plus free clothes. 🙄🙄🙄

@dylans You must be relatively young - within a few blocks either way of 40. The reason I say that (and the reason a loss to KSU antagonizes me so much) is that back in the day the roles were reversed. We absolutely dominated them. But then again so did everyone else. They were LITERALLY the worst team in college football. That wasn't an opinion, it was fact. There was a lot of serious talk about them just shutting down the program. Then Bill Snyder showed up and ruined the party.
@Crimsonorblue22 It really doesn't matter. There should never be a weapon of any kind in a stadium/ arena. TT should have to forfeit the game and the win goes to Kansas. Seriously. The only way to stop BS like that is to administer harsh penalties.

@kjayhawks I agree. No one will ever convince me that officiating is ever fair and impartial. As a fan it sounds whiney to blame a game on the refs, but I think the zebras have an incredible amount of influence on the outcome of games.
Also, for whomever is reading, I have been a lifelong Chiefs fan and I get a little out of sorts when they play terrible and stupid. So - sorry.

@Jhawk69 Kicking sounds like golf. When I first started golfing in my mid 20's I was actually very good. Because of that, i was obsessed with golf. I literally played every day for 3 years. About year two, I started listening to people I golfed with. "Hold your hands this way. Put your right foot in and shake it all about" Instead of doing what I'd been doing, I let their words of "advice" get in my head and I was done. I literally threw a few clubs in the pond and haven't golfed since 1987.
I would trade everybody on the Chief's team for the Giant's RB Skattebo.

What ticks me off today is that there's no one to blame. Can't blame Daniels, can't blame the running backs or receivers, Can't blame the refs. Maybe could blame the sucky defense. Mostly though, it's just a crappy team.

@kjayhawks The defense has been very, very good! I know you think I hate Mahomes (I don't) but objectively, he's near the bottom of the pile of NFL QB's so far this season. He's just not using his head. Overthrows, underthrows, backwards passes - how many other NFL (shoot, add college in there too) QB's threw backwards passes this weekend? Probably zero. But PM threw TWO of them! That easily could have cost us the game. He needs to get his head on straight.
