@Blown I respect what Huggins has done as a coach, but he's not the reason that KU only gets to the FT line 15 times. And only makes six. SIX. He's not the reason that we get out rebounded. It's the players. Theirs were up for the game and ours obviously were not. They wanted it worse. Does anyone keep track of "floor burns"? I'll bet if they do, we lost that battle last night. I mean, it's not the end of the world - we're still 18-2. We're still in first place in the Big 12. But it ticks me off losing 4 years in a row to anyone.
And to reiterate what i've been harping on all season long - free throw shooting is what will keep this team from going deep into the tournament.

@dylans Exactly! I don't know who came up with that "not enough rest" excuse - whether it was the middle aged to old coaches, the middle aged to old announcers or the middle aged to old fans. It wasn't the young people. Every one of them would play every minute of every game - and like you say, they could go two or three games consecutively if they needed to.

@dylans I get fairly frustrated with the "not enough rest" excuse that is frequently tossed around for college athletes. Do you remember when you were 18, 19, 20 years old? You can't wear 'em out. I wasn't a college athlete, but I was athletic and played a lot of sports. We would frequently play basketball 3 on 3 (outdoors in Houston's 97% humid summertime) for HOURS, then go fishing in the summer heat, go bar hopping until 2 am and start all over again the next day. Fresh. You can't wear out teenagers. It's a weak excuse.
@mayjay I'm glad you said that about the "overrated" chant. I've never, ever understood that. It's like you're saying " well, you MUST have been overrated because we're not capable of beating a good team".

@drgnslayr We need to arrive about a week early for the WV game. We can get some coal dust in our lungs,lose a few teeth, swig a few gallons of moonshine and lower our collective IQ a few thousand points. Then we will fit right in.

This was so much more fun than the usual ass whooping that we give them. The purple pu$zies have cried so much about "The Walk" that they are bound to be dehydrated for their next few games. In fact, this was so devastating to the farm-animal kingdom of Manhattan that they may not win another game this season.
Fun fact - for those of you that weren't aware - this was also the first college basketball game EVER where there was a missed call. It was just that one call too. Not another bad or missed call in the entire game.

I've been harping on it for a while now. If we don't improve FT shooting, we don't win the Conference Championship or any other kind of Championship. Just sayin.
@HawkInMizery It's Ok now since we're winning - but when we start getting into those nailbiter games it's going to kick our hineys. Coach needs to spend a LOT more time on free throw shooting with this team.
I'd like to see an article about how / why some of the best college basketball players in the universe can't shoot free throws......

@JayHawkFanToo I'm not a total fan of today's Christmas either, but i'm trying to be less humbug about it than i have the past several years. I'm sure i've been a joy to be around.... but - one thing that you can do is be sure and help others that are less fortunate. Pick something from a tree in your local mall so an underprivileged child can have a nice Christmas. Shovel your neighbors' driveway. Buy a K-State fan a ticket to see a real basketball team play. You know - good stuff like that!!

Should we have a contest before each game to see which opponent is going to score their career high against us? We may as well have some fun with it, because it's going to happen. Every game.
About 50 times during the basketball game Saturday night, I heard the announcers say that Kansas 48 game home winning streak was at stake. Why? How? The Sprint Center is not our home court. Is there anyone else that does not like this idea?
