@Crimsonorblue22 Was what me? The 250 yards thing? Yeah, I said 250 yards and 5 TD's. I'm glad i missed that one.
@Crimsonorblue22 Well, I missed the score, but I nailed the prediction about D'Onta Foreman getting 250 yards.......
Will it go round in circles ?
@kjayhawks lol - well, it was kind of fun to make the stupid predictions, a little bit of that is out of pure frustration - i desperately want us to be good in football, but i really do believe that we're showing improvements and may be ok in a few years.
Where have all the flowers gone?
OK, after a sleepless night thinking about KU football, I've revised my prediction. Texas 66 - KU 43. All of the factors listed above, but I forgot that Texas' defense really isn't very good. But they can move the ball.....
@Crimsonorblue22 They're getting better. Plus, it's a home game. Plus it's basketball season and me, you and @kjayhawks are the only ones looking at football stuff. lol
Texas has 5 losses this season - the worst by 18 pts, the others by 7, 5, 3 & 4. Four of those losses were on the road. They're on the road vs KU, but it's not going to matter. They have the best running back in the league (if not the country) and he will have 250 yds and 5 td's against us. Final score : 58-14.
How would you like to be the coach of Towson (or Appalachian State, for that matter)?

"Jay Bilas mentioned outside of 3-4 calls every call was justifiable. That these calls were always fouls, they are just now being enforced."
Yes, this comment was a total shock coming from one of Duke's more famous alum....
There are some games where he sounds logical and unbiased. This was not one of them.
@Crimsonorblue22 I am in NO way watering down our victory. My original statement just said that if we don't start hitting 3's and ft's - gonna be a long season.
@Crimsonorblue22 and they were missing 2 or 3 of the best players in the country
Obviously happy for the win tonight - but mark my words - we will get our asses handed to us on a regular basis if we don't start hitting some 3 pointers, but especially if we don't learn how to shoot free throws. Missing free throws is on the coach - i would guess he doesn't have them shoot FT's for 5 minutes during any given practice.
@Crimsonorblue22 If he doesn't score 30 and get 25 rebounds tonight - I'm done with him.
@Crimsonorblue22 One game... - It takes me a week to get back to normal at work after missing one day.
KU - 48 - 1
Halftime score.
117 - 6
Final score. We need to work on our second half defense.....
I don't understand the LL thrashing that's going on ONE GAME INTO THE SEASON. I'm not his best friend or anything, but good grief - isn't he the one that the TEAM told Coach Self to start last year? Isn't he the one that everyone (including the people on this site) ranted and raved about and said that we wouldn't have advanced as far as we did without him last year? Am I in some sort of alternative world?
I have got to tone my basketball expectations WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY down. I literally tossed and turned all night long after the stupid game the other night. Over a frickin basketball game.......
@dylans As far as I'm concerned we can leave the politics out of politics.
@Crimsonorblue22 sorry - i was out of town, away from all forms of electronics!! But i was going to predict 31-24. Lol
and regardless of what type of measuring device you use - Wilt was going to block your shot, grab the rebound, beat you down the court and dunk the ball.
@Crimsonorblue22 i wouldn't go with you ??? Why do you say that ??
@Crimsonorblue22 Hey!! Thanks for thinking of me!!! Lol
@Crimsonorblue22 Wow - great article. I want my daughter to marry him. Wait, she's already married. I want to marry him.....
Seriously, a lot of info about him that I didn't know - he sounds like a really great kid.
If Stanley doesn't work out, let's try some of the peanut vendors. I've seen them make some very nice throws under pressure.
@kjayhawks The FBI is in on it now?? Things are worse than I first thought!!
@kjayhawks i can't buy into us having tight games. Sure, we can hang our hat on the one point loss to TCU, but besides that, the only other loss less than 20 was to Ohio. Not the one with the word State after it. Losses by 36 (twice) 42, 24 , 53 and 27. Those were that close because the other teams were playing some of their reserves. Having said all that, I do feel like we're making improvements. We're scoring some. We're hanging in games longer than we used to. It's going to take some time, but we still need a few key players. Starting with QB.
@stoptheflop I SERIOUSLY don't try to be "that" guy, but we should be thankful that it's only 11 points. ISU is not that bad. Compared to us. They've had four or five games that were lost by 4 - 10 points ( too early to look it up, but it's something like that). And face it - it's going to be hard for us to win a game, regardless of our competition when we're not deep on defense and have no quarterback.
Oh My Goodness! Well, I predict stupid scores every week and wanted to think of one that was about as stupid as it can get. I win!! Good news - Basketball in one week!!
82-1
@Crimsonorblue22 - The Voice was good last night! Hehe
@dylans Mmmmmmm - wouldn't make the Shaq comparison. He was not 1/4th the athlete that Wilt was.
@dylans said:
" but there are more footers in the NBA now"
Good point.
How many of them averaged 50.4 ppg and 25.7 rebounds per game over the course of an entire season? Without a 3 point shot?
@BeddieKU23 This is bogus - where's K-State? !Muttley-picture.gif ↗
@approxinfinity Dang it! I was gonna say that, but didn't.....
@Crimsonorblue22 Not trying to be "that" guy, but we care about this why?
Look at his overall performance in every sport in which he competed, starting in High School and you will probably change the words "basketball player" to athlete. He was unbelievable.
@kjayhawks said:
" This game pretty much went how I figured it would (predicted 59-13) "
I actually predicted 56-3 right on the money. Except that was my first quarter score. And I didn't predict that we would score 3. And 40 is a pretty impressive (?) streak, but we can definitely extend it.
@wrwlumpy Too politically correct ??
@kjayhawks Knight had a player way back named Todd Jadlow. I used to work with his mother and she RAVED about Bob Knight. In a good way. She said that the players who went to Indiana knew what they were getting into and it should not have come to them as any surprise that he would yell, scream, punch occasionally and throw chairs. But he was a basketball genius,and believe it or not - very compassionate off the court. I don't condone the physical violence, although a poke to the chest or a shove once in a while wouldn't bother me. I'm almost 60 and i'm sick and tired of how pussified our nation has become. By the way - this is nothing against you, i'm just ranting in general.
I'm already sweating trying to think of predictions for next week's game.
@Crimsonorblue22 #2
That's my answer, and the state of the program.
@Crimsonorblue22 nah - last week it was like 72-10. 75-10, something that was a realistic guess. except we couldn't score 10.
@kjayhawks 48-6 They have 16 field goals and we have 3 safeties.
If the KU vs OU game had been any combination of Kentucky, Duke or UNC instead of KU and OU, the East Coast media would have just put an end to college basketball. They would have stamped that moment in time as the best it could ever be and there would be no more basketball.
So thank you Kentucky, Duke and UNC that you don't have what we have.
@Crimsonorblue22 Let's steal the 2nd string QB from Texas Tech. Is he really that good and sitting on the bench? Or was our defense really that bad that day? I don't think Willis is our answer. There are obviously better players out there somewhere waiting for a chance.
@kjayhawks Lol - I was at a casino in Newkirk, Ok this afternoon when I looked up and saw the 42-0 score. I immediately thought of you and @stoptheflop and had a good laugh. Not at the score, at our predictions! I'm glad the second half was better, but I think we can thank Baylor's coach for much of that. Anway, we'll hope for better from here on out.
@stoptheflop I was literally blown away by the defense last week. Actually, the week before too, for over 3 quarters. There's no doubt we're getting better, but we just don't have enough horses to hang with the big dogs (that's a lot of animals, huh) for the whole 4 quarters. We need more depth. Didn't we lose one of our top defensive linemen this week? I haven't followed as closely as I'd like, a lot of personal stuff going on.
Hey - we've seen teams like Baylor and TCU go from the bottom of the pit to the top of the heap - it can be done. Can we do it? I don't know. But i sure won't be surprised if we get beat by 60 today.
@Crimsonorblue22 Sorry Deb, didn't mean to steal your thunder.
