@KansasComet I agree Comet, Devonte's block was huge. He got the stop we needed to win the T Tech game. (In those gray uni's I had trouble seeing just who got that block.) I would like Devonte to take a one-third share of the offensive load. When Frank drives, Devonte should be looking for the pass out and be positioned to shoot the 3. I'm not calling Devonte out: I'm suggesting he should be looking to score, like Frank and Josh do all game on the offensive end. Maybe the team just isn't getting Devonte the ball in a position where he may score. But, here we go. Another 8 PM start on ESPN, so we'll miss at least the first 5 minutes of our game. Let's get it done.

W. Virginia Game • Feb 12, 2017 01:59 PM

It was great to see Josh step up and win the T Tech game. Landen was great; we need double digit scoring from him all the time. (double digit rebounding too, but I'm not complaining.) But, we are going to need a healthy Frank Mason on Monday if we are to avoid back-to-back losses at AFH. And where the heck is Devonte in all this? He's stepping back and letting others take the spotlight when he should be starring.

After suffering through a too close ending in Lubbock, I'm already feeling the butterflies for Monday night.

2018 Kansas Jayhawks Football Recruiting • Feb 12, 2017 12:04 PM

What? It's Sunday morning and I haven't seen a report of a new 4 star recruit announcing for KU. Did our coaches take the weekend off? If they did, it's well deserved. Keep up the good work fellas.

Wins like these win championships • Feb 12, 2017 01:19 AM

Also, we gave up 44 second half points. 44 Geez, Louiz

Wins like these win championships • Feb 12, 2017 12:39 AM

No one is talking about the missed free throws at the end of the game. I know it doesn't do any good to talk or complain about the misses. But, dang it guys: D1 athletes make free throws. Come on now.

A GUARD ORIENTED TEAM • Feb 11, 2017 12:29 PM

Landen definitely needs to shoot more. What I see happening is by the time he catches the ball and gathers himself, he's double or triple teamed and can't shoot, Many times the defense pokes the ball away. I hope a coach is working with him to catch and shoot, rather than spend so much time gathering himself to put up a contested shot. I believe he's worried so much about getting blocked that he's taking too much time. He should be shooting a lot more free throws. Now is the time to dominated young man; it's T Tech for heaven's sake. Dominate the paint.

While KU recruiting successes are being discussed nationally, I hope our staff is actively pursuing other highly ranked recruits who formerly were considered outside our scope of commitment. Right now is the time to land more top recruits for key positions. As our recruiting wave continues to rise, other recruits are aware of the groundswell of success and will be ready to join. I look for the KU staff to continue to land big names, perhaps even to add to the 2017 class.

Frank screwed • Feb 07, 2017 02:08 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 Thanks for your great video highlights. Frank is a super hero on these two plays. Just amazing. He is literally superman as he flies past the baseline, then returns for the steal. We are blessed to enjoy his special skills.

Frank screwed • Feb 07, 2017 02:04 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 My additional reply to Crimson's video of the non-foul is it's a great example or our dismal three point defense. Frank is in the lane when the shooter gets the ball and the best he can do to defend the wide open 3 is to run 20 feet with his hand in the air and pass by the shooter. Really, our defense is just to hope the opponent misses the 3. But, I State showed us that defense won't always work.

Frank screwed • Feb 07, 2017 12:44 PM

KU got screwed, not just Frank. We are going to lose a game due to a flop that the refs can't or don't correct. That's as bad of a flop as I've seen in the Big 12 this year. It's up to the other two refs on the court to correct the call. The problem on the 3 is that everyone is looking at the ball. The refs only see the shooter fall with peripheral vision. At least one ref must watch the shooter, not the ball and all refs need to be taught not to make a call just on a player falling. The ref must see the actual contact before blowing a whistle. We are lucky that flop didn't cost us the game.

Does the Big 12 evaluate and grade refs after each game? The Big 12 must get rid of refs who fail to distinguish between a flop and a foul. Or, penalize players for flopping. Many thanks Crimson for finding the video. I watched it during last night's commercial break and I knew ESPN wouldn't show the non-foul again.

@RockChalkinTexas The We Own the State sign was just good fun. Same thing when fans say their number 1, but really their team sucks. Fans have to support their team, right?

Baylor at OState will be interesting.

@BShark But our 10 bench points were critical to this win. I thought Bragg played with great energy

KState only had 2 bench points. We had 10. Bragg 6 and Vick 4

@Blown Many posters still say these guys can't get tired. I see tired players

We got outrebounded by 11. OUCH

@HawkChamp Yes, Devonte had 7 rbs

@approxinfinity Me too

Not much help for Mason and Jackson on offense. We need others to step up now

Horrible call Flop all the way. We'll see if ESPN shows it. I bet not

Weber spends to entire game on the court. He's three feet out on the court during KState's offense.

Johnson's going to get tired. We are playing everyone against him

How does it work out the Devonte in guarding Wade in the post? Who's missing their assignment on Wade?

@Crimsonorblue22 Landen isn't holding on to the ball tonight. I see they are triple teaming him when he gets the ball but he needs to pass quickly

@drgnslayr Johnson has 2 fouls

Jackson's 3 fouls has me more than a little worried

Ouch, Mason is 3/11 in FGs. 2/5 from 3

Stoke and Wade 5/7 from 3. Someone want to guard them?

I hate it when our guard shoots a 3 and no one is inside the arc to even attempt a rb. Where in the hell is a least one big?

Yea, Graham needs to get going. 0/1, but 4 rbs

TO's and more TO's so far. Gotta slow down and play under control.

@drgnslayr It looks blue to me too, but KState people call it purple.

Visiting the Octogon....Advice welcome • Feb 06, 2017 11:35 PM

@KUSTEVE Lubbock doesn't look like a typical American city. Unless it has built taller building in the last few years, the tallest building I saw was about 6 stories. Secondly, many of the houses are built much lower to the ground than I've ever seen. From the street, it looks like a six foot person could touch the roof. Lubbock just had a much different look and feel than any other US city I've visited.

Visiting the Octogon....Advice welcome • Feb 06, 2017 02:53 PM

@dylans Wow, that's a lot more fun than I had. I should have just gone straight to the bars.

Visiting the Octogon....Advice welcome • Feb 06, 2017 01:59 PM

Neutral for sure. I made the mistake of wearing a KU hat to a KState football game. We lost the game and as I was walking through the parking lot, a drunk girl sitting on the tailgate of a pickup-not even kidding-started yelling profanities at the group I was with. I didn't even remember I was wearing the hat. She followed us for about 50 yards yelling "f--- KU". Welcome to Manhattan.

But, I'm going to be honest here: At the OState football game, OState fans sat anywhere and everywhere in the stadium. It was irritating and annoying to me to be in reserved KU seating and be surrounded by orange. I like it best when all the opposing fans sit together in another (hopefully worse seats than mine) section and I can root against them with a little distance between us.

@mayjay My guess is jayballer54? I like the trend of multiple poster names. I'm a big fan or being able to argue with myself and not look crazy because to most it appears I'm different people. Kind of the Norman Bates thing.

2017 Jayhawk Football • Feb 06, 2017 11:56 AM

Is this the year that KU will finally beats K State? We still lead the series 65-44-5 ties, but haven't beaten them since 2008, which followed our wins in 2006 and 2007. For those of us in Kansas, this is still the important football series. Overall, we have better athletes but Snyder's system keeps producing W's for KState.
In 2017, the QB operating the air raid offense will determine our success. I'm no longer satisfied with close losses and areas of improvement. Let's get some wins fellas. RCJH

@Texas-Hawk-10 Thanks again for keeping tabs on KU football recruiting and posting it. We are very fortunate to have fans who are willing to share their knowledge and research about recruiting for us.

Can we execute. No more passes inside to Landen who is triple teamed. He should have passed that last ball to an open guard.

ISU Game Thread • Feb 04, 2017 08:56 PM

Huge possession here. Let's get a stop

ISU Game Thread • Feb 04, 2017 08:52 PM

Graham and Lucas haven't scored in the second half

ISU Game Thread • Feb 04, 2017 08:38 PM

We have 17 TOs and IState is shooting 51%, Come on fellas, play like your at home and want to win

ISU Game Thread • Feb 04, 2017 08:31 PM

KState still up 24/18

ISU Game Thread • Feb 04, 2017 08:29 PM

@BShark The lob was half way up the back board. Devonte must play better. Only 7 pts.

ISU Game Thread • Feb 04, 2017 08:27 PM

Letting them shoot 51% in AFH. We must defend better

ISU Game Thread • Feb 04, 2017 08:26 PM

@RockChalkinTexas In the paint like always

ISU Game Thread • Feb 04, 2017 08:20 PM

KState up 17/10

ISU Game Thread • Feb 04, 2017 08:19 PM

Very simple solution to Fran: the mute button. It works great

ISU Game Thread • Feb 04, 2017 08:07 PM

@HawkChamp He's a KU homer, but I like him too
