@approxinfinity So we really only disagree on Wilson. I don't think he's a world beater but I really think we do need his shooting and he is much more ready than Enaruna or Braun.

From what I've seen on Youtube, Jalen seems to play low to the floor. For being 6-8, supposedly, he definitely doesn't attack the rim... ever. He's going to need some training, if one can even be trained to play above the rim. That might be more instinct and not come very easily. When he's attacking the paint, he tends to go low and try a wild shot off the glass. Against those high schoolers, he should be going up and dunking it. Also, he doesn't have much elevation on his jumper at all. More of a set shot.

I don't see him getting significant minutes this year. He will be too easy to guard and will get his shot blocked at the next level (except for open threes).

He is definitely in the 6'7-8'' range. He was recruited as a "big guard" but we know Self will want him to bang a bit with that size. For some guys it works out and they find success under Self like Perry, then it breaks other kids like Bragg. Wilson has good parents and it sure seems like he and his parents are realistic about him as a prospect.

Significant minutes is kind of vague. I think he will get 10-18 minutes a game depending on the match-up. So I'm not sure where that matches up with what you are thinking. He will be in the rotation, but I don't think he's a ride or die, Bill is playing you until you pass out if it's a must win player his FR year. He will be good in time, he's a luxury piece for added line-up flexibility this season. I think he can be a ride or die guy by his JR year.

@FarmerJayhawk Yup. Also change is coming. We are just in the early stages. The NBA desperately wants the G League to become the main developmental league for NBA basketball. We are seeing players that are eligible now opting to play overseas instead. Where it all shakes out I can't say but the NCAA will not 100% be the same.

@BShark This is probably right but I think the other 3 starters have the potential to be All Big 12, especially Agbaji.

All 5 won't, but I can see scenarios for everyone. Dot is a :lock: and so is Doke if he stays healthy.

Billy Hustle • Jun 13, 2019 06:13 PM

@HighEliteMajor I know I'm repeating myself here but... My favorite thing about the incoming recruiting class is zero handlers. Of course our top two post players are handler kids, but I wouldn't mind seeing going away from it in the future.

I also think it's pretty fortunate we still have Silvio and Doke, but it is important to note that while high ranked neither was expected to be OAD. I think originally both were expected to be 2 years with the potential of staying longer. Obviously things worked out. I'd rather have Dot and Doke than any 5* presumed OAD that we might have instead.

I think we are headed for 30+ wins this season.

How many all Americans do you guys think will we have next year? I think we will actually have 4. DD Ochia, SDS, and Doke while Moss will get big 12 honors. Holy cow I’m excited.

I might be overly hyped I know but come now

Whew. You are talking conference right? I think the only guys in play for national honors are Dot and Doke.

Suddenly we have one of the most fun minutes/rotation discussions available to us in awhile.

This whole money train is about to go off the rails. There's too much money in too many people's hands at this point. You cannot stuff the genie back into the bottle. I don't think KU gets sanctioned, but only because they would have to sanction a lot more teams than just five or six. They would basically have to sanction most of the P5 teams, and if they were to ban half the P5 teams from the NCAA tournament that could destroy the tournament.

This is it. They absolutely do not want to stop their money maker. Especially now that their cartel might actually start seeing some competition.

Could you guys imagine @HighEliteMajor if KU had a situation with actual direct hard evidence like those schools? Oh my folks! ;)

But I will just leave it with re-iterating KU will likely get an NOA and it will be fought. Just have to wait and see now.

Moss and Wilson all in the same week. I'm ecstatic honestly how this all unfolded. Waiting sucks but it was worth it.

It was truly an epic week until the NCAA leak made it a bit of a downer.

@BeddieKU23 The schools that just played guys who they directly paid though... If anyone is getting absolutely murdered, it's NC State.

2020 Recruiting • Jun 13, 2019 01:20 PM

@BeddieKU23 Yeah he's very springy and can immediately contribute on D. Offense at this stage is just garbage man stuff though.

KU vs. dook • Jun 13, 2019 01:15 PM

Oh my god, was this a zero handlers class? @FarmerJayhawk do you know anything about Enaruna in that regard?

The NCAA was going to let him play as a SR, instead of a full on ban. That's at least something slightly positive.

You are not kidding. At least a talent will be coming to the conference it looks

Yep, I'm all for the league being better.

KSU and Baylor added guys recently as well.

With Cottrell, he isn't a guy we would have wanted starting next year but has long term potential to be quite good.

True the dad's ego's couldn't possibly fit in 1 pad.

Underrated aspect of this class is that the craziest parent is mama Braun and she isn't toooo bad. The Wilsons seem very realistic about where Jalen is at and McBride is extremely grounded.

Guess we just don't know much about Enaruna at all in this regard. We really haven't had any problems with foreign players in this situation though. Diallo situation involved "handlers".

@HighEliteMajor Many people thought UNC would be punished heavily too. I just don't have much confidence in the NCAA to do much of anything.

I expect KU to get served with a NOA. I also expect it to be fought and not much to come out of it. I'm more than fine with some games technically not counting and a reduction of 1-2 scholarships. Basically just avoid a post season ban and I'm good.

@HighEliteMajor Something will happen with KU, I'd bet on that. I also think it just won't amount to much in the end.

@FarmerJayhawk I feel like we have hashed this out a lot recently. It feels more and more like one of those topics. You know the ones, where neither will change their stance on it regardless of evidence. I won't bring up the others, it's all pretty heated issues.

FarmerJayhawk said:

We only took Billy because we were outbid by Ayton. I’m saying if you want to pursue “clean” players, be prepared to take a team full of Mitch Lightfoot’s.

Was about to comment on this myself. And if we do end up with Ayton, maybe we do get buried because he would have played.

Oh my, this is quality content from CJ. As expected but still.

@FarmerJayhawk This goes way deeper than anyone wants to admit. Like for example take the likely best player in KSU's class this year DaJuan Gordon. Kid is out of Chicago (guys like Izzo bemoan just how dirty Chicago is) and is all set to go to SMU. Suddenly boom KSU is not only in play but the pick. Very interesting situation if you ask me...

@KUSTEVE Wrong thread my dude.

I still think it is much ado about nothing for everyone. NCAA needs their moneymakers. Time will tell. There won't be any post season bans for this upcoming season I think.
