looooooooooool
@Texas-Hawk-10 Have you also heard that he almost quit HS basketball early on? Saw that rumor as well but the poster it came from doesn't have the same good reputation of info.
@KUSTEVE From people down in Texas I've seen posts that Grimes and Wilson could not be more different.
Here is a snippet from a guy that knows some of the teachers and coaches down there
"Fun fact........
My source (without any prompting) said he wasn't worried about Grimes coming back, because Grimes is soft, and Jalen would fight him for his minutes anyways. "

@BeddieKU23 DD put up a poll on Twitter where he asked if he should change his uni number from 11 to 1, and Kyree responded, and everybody is going crazy...lol.
There are lots of reasons to feel good about this one. Pro-KU people in his ear from what I understand.

Love the confidence. He also said he wasnt a OAD and wanted College to develop himself. Ill take that type of player all day
I've seen nothing other than that he is a great kid.
@jayballer73 @Texas-Hawk-10 I know you guys were mentioning it on instinct but it seems there is smoke picking up for Jalen Wilson indeed potentially ending up back at Michigan. Certainly something to keep an eye on. Michigan people are confident.
TStorming again

@wissox you are tough, if d dot had doke or Silvio, maybe Vick, he would have been very good. For a red shirt w/A stress fracture,Ochai was not to shabby! I think you can depend on freshmen if the rest of your team doesn't fold
Trust Crims @wissox that injury was very difficult for Ochai. Amazing he was playing, no doubt effected his shooting.
“Coach (Self) said there will be more leadership thrust on Devon just because of the makeup of the team. Coach is preparing him for what’s to come. Coach sincerely feels Devon will get a lot out of it and will position himself better for next year (draft).”
Dana Dotson noted: “Kansas plays on a big stage. Even some of the NBA people told us that. They said, ‘If you are at a different school it might be a different situation. Kansas will play in big games as opposed to you going to the G-League and play in front of 600 people.’ That’s a different deal.

@Kcmatt7 I think Wilson is much more ready to contribute than Enaruna from day one but I could be wrong.
I think he could fill a BG type of a role from day one, but that's about it. I really don't think he's a great athlete from what I've seen. Definitely a below the rim guy.
Yeah I think Enaruna has more long term potential Wilson is just more ready to contribute right now. Agree on the BG comp.
@Kcmatt7 I think Wilson is much more ready to contribute than Enaruna from day one but I could be wrong.
Ryan posted that even if Dot left, Q wasn't coming back to KS.
@Crimsonorblue22 I know you were wondering.

From the looks of things, this should be a great group chemistry wise. No huge egos, no guts with handlers thinking they’re better than Self, and just a lot of really chill guys. Except after the tip. Then you get rekt
Sign me up.
@wissox Well, the alternative is...lower ranked FR in the rotation. The starters are all experienced at least.
Agree, loving the current line @KUSTEVE
Can't blame Bill at all for playing the better option at pg. Wherever he ends up unless it's a lower level there will be better pg options.
@DanR glad to know you are safe.

@dylans make KU rebound again!!!
And play defense.
Last three years have been trash on that end. Something to watch..this roster has the tools.
@dylans make KU rebound again!!!
All that also has Garrett starting too which is...not great but livable.
@BeddieKU23 agree. Even if you are as high on Och as @HighEliteMajor which I am not, we can't afford to be relying on 2 of McBride, Braun and Enaruna to play a major bench role. I can see one surprising enough to do so but not all three. We need another rotation level minimum preferably starter level 2/3 for this team to be a true title contender.
@wrwlumpy spot on

So now we wait on Wilson and Walker.. Yikes
Worst case roster is still pretty good now.
Self will add some guys, hard to see him rolling with 10. Now...they might end up being Maxwell types. So yeah, I hope for at least one of Wilson or Walker as either one moves the needle.

I forgot about this till just now...but you know what grinds my gears....when Q committed, I watched some 45 minute intro of all his team members and some bs pomp and circumstance that his high school coach made me watch. And they started like 15 minutes late. I should've known then that this son of a gun was just another bragg. Cliff, did the old hat thing...to date, still the only "hat" selection I think ku won. In short, if a kid can't just do the normal thing and say I'm going to ku on twitter...my hopes for the kid are zero.
I'm a little bitter he's transferred. I'll still keep tabs and sort of root for him, but his story is screwy. He'll go into my micah downs and Connor frankamp file of "yeah, I remember you"
My favorite commitment lately might be McBride. He was doing an audio interview with someone (maybe Tait? I don't remember) and he was just like oh yeah I'm committed to KU. :joy:
dylans said:
I don’t think he showed him the door so much as he held it open on the way out. His release sure didn’t sound like Bill was going to miss him.
This feels right.
Self was also desperate with Vick, he doesn't need Q for next year.
FarmerJayhawk said:
Best guess:
G: Dotson, McBride
G: Walker, Garrett
G: Agbaji, Wilson, Braun (RS)
F: #FreedSilvio, Enaruna, Mitch
F: Doke, McCormackWe might add someone like Hyland but it's not really a thing until KU offers. And that's a FF quality team.
For set positions this is pretty much it. With the actual rotations I think Garrett is really flexible and would see time at multiple spots. Wilson would also see minutes at the 4.
FarmerJayhawk said:
And I don't think we end up offering Hyland unless he goes to prep school, which at this point might be the most likely outcome. Would be a RS candidate here anyway.
I mentioned this somewhere recently, can't remember exactly where. But it makes a ton of sense. He's a guy that really needs to get stronger and develop. Will be a fantastic college player but not right away.
He will take both visits is the recent report. Makes sense to shift to cloudy.
DanR said:
Anyone know for sure Self didn't just show Grimes the door? That's the usual M.O.
Mutual parting of ways.
Bosthawk said:
I saw nothing last year to lead me to believe Q was anything other than what we did see. Good luck buddy.
The real larger issue is how we keep recruiting these guys. Guys who, with their families, are solidly deluded. Guys who! With their families! are not good fits for KU for a whole lot of reasons.
Maybe other schools have had the same challenges, but Man! We seem to have a solid list of busts. Brannon, Cliff, Preston, Vick, (who’s the guy who smoked pot all the time? please feel free to fill in more names here)
Yikes
Honestly, Greene was fine. He contributed to wins.
Grimes ended up being a bad fit but it's hard to turn down top 10 talent (perceived anyway) that is also a legacy.

@Texas-Hawk-10 KU will push to add Jalen Wilson and Kyree Walker. Both would immediately slide into the guard rotation imo.
I don't have a ton of faith in landing either or both guys at this point. With the way recruiting has gone this year, Wilson probably ends up back at Michigan and Walker ends up staying 2020.
KU or UNC.
Walker needs the grades is the biggest issue there.

Self is probably putting RJ’s dad in pile driver would be my guess.
LOL.
Top 5 squad easily with Jalen and Kyree lol.

No offense to Grimes but I'm not disappointed to see him go. Best of luck to him but I want guys that play hard and want to win, not stand on 3 point line and chuck up bricks. Hes one of the laziest defensive players in memory, even Vick showed more on that end. Hopefully he can figure it out between the ears, this ain't high school son.
I wish him the best going forward but he was one of the worst starters in the entire B12 last year.

Any room for Kerry Blackshear? He pulled out of the draft and is eligible immediately
Not a need. Don't think he'd come here given the big situation.

Grimes too!
Grimes just announced he is withdrawing from the draft that's it.

Didn't even see a tweet. Believe Grimes will transfer based on everything I know about the situation.

Honestly wouldn't hate the Big 12 becoming completely badass. KU would still make the tournament and the tougher league could help development.
@FarmerJayhawk Ok that makes a lot of sense. It was more or less my assumption, but always good to clarify.
T mentioned K "w/e it takes to get him in Lawrence" T is running point on Walker, so uh...I think your math checks out there!
FarmerJayhawk said:
Look out below!
Lol, you posted this about Walker/KU too and I'm not 100% sure what it means. :p
Cunningham getting a lot of Okie St smoke. Wow.
I like McBride but he would get abused on D.
