Hampton is coming. It just has that feel. And I'll eat my words about Adidas today.
I'm trying to not get excited but it's hard. I hope this decision is mostly up to RJ.

Tyshawn
@FarmerJayhawk 100% dude. I'd rather be in the top Adidas tier than the Nike C tier.
Adidas deal being finalized can't hurt, just saying.
This is one of the biggest apparel deals in all of college athletics. Nike wasn't gonna even come close to matching it.

Sigh.
WE WILL BE BACK

Looks like Johnny Juzang is going to reclassify to 2019 and commit to Kentucky. He just scheduled a OV there for Monday. KU was believed to be a leader for him a while back.
Well he was Adidas but you know, Cal decides he needs a player and Nike is like okay we got this.
Talk today in the trial about an obscene number of college football players being paid between 2010-2014. I FOR ONE AM TOTALLY SHOCKED.
Kcmatt7 said:
Possible Reclass? He's already 18. Maybe trying to sneak into the 2020 draft?
I'd pee myself.

Are we actually recruiting again? Gaht dam.
ITS DONE!!!!

@BShark really? Hmmm I thought he was much better than tyler
I mean obviously he is a better basketball player than Tyler Self. I just hopes the minutes are similar his first year in particular. Needs to add muscle big time.
OMG IS IT HAPPENING? IT'S PROBABLY HAPPENING>!!!!!
@BeddieKU23 Doke certainly improved the baseline but I think there is still a wild swing for next year based on guys KU is still in on. Add Tucker and Holyfield and that's a top 10 roster easily.
Crimsonorblue22 said:
@BeddieKU23 nit status
There are posters that think KU might not even make the NIT next year, others calling for Self to be fired etc...
justanotherfan said:
I agree with @SlickRockJayhawk. I don't think KU is at risk for more penalties. They have been hit with a huge player penalty already. Unless Arizona, Oregon, Louisville, Maryland, LSU, etc. are all getting hit with significant penalties as well (all 2019 NCAA tournament teams) it is doubtful the NCAA comes down on KU because it would wreck the tournament going forward to ban that many major conference schools.
That being said, if @BShark and @Kcmatt7 are correct that Braun and McBride need more time before they are ready to contribute in a significant way, then the roster is still pretty flawed. There's not much shooting on this team. Agbaji is the best shooter in the rotation. You're still dependent on Doke inside, and without a guy like Dedric, there's not much offensive firepower on the block, either. You're basically hoping Devon Dotson morphs into Cassius Winston and next year's squad is some version of this year's Michigan State team. But that depends on Dotson taking a pretty big step forward.
From what I have seen if Braun gets more than Tyler Self minutes we are in big trouble. I could be wrong but I just don't see it happening with him early.
McBride could be okay with a smaller bench role. At this point he is a pure 2G and needs to improve his handle and work on his lateral quickness before he can get big minutes.
We definitely need some additions and I don't think Enaruna moves the needle for next year (but is absolutely a take). Grad transfers seem like the best option, I'm sure Self will figure something out.

@dylans Thanks! Based on the non-stop petulant arguments involving the same people again and again that I've been accustomed to at the other place, the occasional squabble will be a sight for sore eyes. Lol.
Were you on the phog? Cause that board will take it out of ya!

Bossi thinks Precious ends up at Memphis with Watford now leaning towards LSU with Wade back.
I detect no lies.
justanotherfan said:
2019 still could be a flawed team. If our incoming freshmen don't add perimeter shooting, this team will still struggle. While Doke is a tremendous player, he's still a limited player (not great defensively, only an average rebounder for his size).
I guess what I am saying is that there is still a long way to go to make sure next year's squad is not fatally flawed like this year's squad was. Shooting and athleticism are still at issue, particularly on the wing. If we don't get a big, athletic wing that can shoot (really, we need two of those unless Braun is one) then we basically have last season all over again, and without Dedric. That's a Sweet 16 peak.
Now if we add some star power on the wings, then we have something. But that is still to be determined. There's still a lot of tunnel left before we step into the daylight.
Braun definitely isn't it for next year. I think he is at least two years away.
I think Enaruna is a guy that starts as a JR. Hopefully the huge exposure uptick didn't inflate the ego of his circle.
From the beginning it was hard to imagine Cole Anthony playing literally anywhere else.
Kcmatt7 said:
He would be a very nice depth add. He does have the feel of a guy who may struggle to ever see meaningful minutes though. Unless he embraces becoming a stretch 4
From what I've seen, he's definitely a college 4.
Craaaazy story. Hope the kid does well.

Miami just added Keith Stone as a grad transfer so not sure how much room they have for Enaruna now.

How about:
G: Dotson, McBride
G: Hampton, Garrett
G: Tucker, Agbaji
F: Silvio, Holyfield
C: Doke, McCormack.
Get rekt, America.
Who's Tucker? Unless he's a 5 Star top 10-15 prospect, he ain't hopping over Agbaji.
He score 20 a game last year fairly efficiently, albeit in the Sun Belt. It will be a fierce battle for his remaining year of college hoops. UNC wants him big time among others.
If Self pulls off a miracle and gets Hampton + Tucker then Agbaji won't start. I don't think it's too likely though.

So I have seen two national writers ( Jeff Goodman and Jon Rothstein) mention Grimes when talking about KU's starting 5 next year... It caught my attention because I thought it was assumed he was 100% gone. I am not getting my hopes up about him coming back, but just found it was kind of odd they both mentioned him...
He's super gone.
Silvio has stated he will come back if he wins the appeal. I believe him.

Not sure the Stanleys rate the Zion pad.
@FarmerJayhawk Agree with this based on what has been said about him and the fact that he is out of TX HS hoops eligibility.

I'd rather have Holyfield (which might be cray) but I'd take either in a second.
Yes. Yes we are. weβve been in deep here for a long time. Thanks Norm!!
Norm is the untouchable assistant for me. In a perfect world, Snacks finds a HC job soon. Breaths new blood into the program and a good look in general.

Well, at least the want to be close to home line seems very legit with this.
@Crimsonorblue22 was right, one of the bigs is Landen Lucas.

Top right looks like Mario Little. Bottom Right looks like T-Rob. Bottom left looks like Tyshawn. My guess for Top left is Withey.
If this happens...4 bigs on an 8 player roster. Also the team would be named the Brick Masons. Hell this roster would excite Bill so much he'd probably coach them if he could.
