2018-2019 Grad & Sitout Transfer Thread • Apr 10, 2018 12:44 PM

@BeddieKU23 They had a thread just last week over Dotson's comments at the McDAA. The actual hatred for him and his family was sickening.

@jayballer73 He was in last year's recruiting class but didn't qualify academically so he took a prep year at Brewster.

@Kcmatt7

Illinois

Indiana

Maryland

Missouri

Trying to think of all the truly delusional fanbases.

"Tariq Owens said role in offense was a factor, but biggest thing for him was wanting to win. Feels better chance for that at Texas Tech."

That tweet went over very well on their board.

Draft Declarations Thread • Apr 10, 2018 12:39 PM

Finally. Brunson and Spellman next please.

2018-2019 Grad & Sitout Transfer Thread • Apr 10, 2018 12:38 PM

@BeddieKU23 @jayballer73 They also added Derek Culver who is immediately better than him.

2018-2019 Grad & Sitout Transfer Thread • Apr 10, 2018 12:36 PM

@BeddieKU23 Yeah that's the real reason but you can't say that. Had to laugh at player development though. I'm sure Owens followed Beard's work at McMurry University and Angelo State closely.

2019 Recruiting • Apr 10, 2018 12:34 PM

@BeddieKU23 I think KU will prioritize Hurt over Achiuwa. I'm hopeful that Hurt commits early. JRE too actually.

2018-2019 Grad & Sitout Transfer Thread • Apr 10, 2018 12:33 PM

"selling him on their player development ability and their focus on winning, promoting the isolation of Lubbock -- the lack of distractions from basketball -- as a plus. "

Lol.

Oh some very sensible threads.

Fire 🔥 🔥 Turgeon Now!

This site is depressing!!!!

What does Turge have to sell to recruits?

Sniffing and Wiffing

Negative recruiting and message boards

Texas Tech lands St Johns grad transfer Tariq Owens. Going to be a pain to deal with in the Big-12. Owens avg'd 8ppg, 5boards, almost 3 blocks per

Kris Martin who a few weeks ago decided to transfer from Colorado St to OU has decided to stay. Wonder if he wasn't going to be ruled eligible immediately..

TIME TO CHECK IN ON THE MARYLAND BOARD SINCE THEY THOUGHT THEY HAD HIM LOCKED UP IF BRUNO DECLARED.

Langford • Apr 10, 2018 03:15 AM

Scheyer could very well be the next Duke coach.

And there it. SKJ transferring from Kentucky. Sit one to play 2. I actually expect one more post to leave out of that group. Could be anyone at this point. But 5 is still a lot of mouths to feed.

Well, you called it. Props.

Langford • Apr 09, 2018 07:12 PM

Yeah, he's majoring in basketball for a year. Self and co know the score here. The alternative is less talent. The sweet spot is recruiting NBA level players and having them stay 3 years like Wright and Roy.

2019 Recruiting • Apr 09, 2018 03:36 PM

@Kcmatt7 Yeah if Cunliffe sticks around and another guard is added (likely) that is 7 guards/wings not even counting KJ. That screams someone should redshirt. If Cunliffe really wants to stick around he could be a candidate.

2019 Recruiting • Apr 09, 2018 03:29 PM

@justanotherfan Wasn't referring to KU with Preston. The kid was at 3 or 4 different high schools, I forget the total. Preston's mom is pretty much psychotic though, so it's hard to fault him too much.

2019 Recruiting • Apr 09, 2018 03:24 PM

@FarmerJayhawk lmao

Kcmatt7 said:

@justanotherfan No he cannot.

Cal is dumb enough to play that big though, he's done it before.

2019 Recruiting • Apr 09, 2018 03:19 PM

@justanotherfan I do agree with your overall point about Self's playing rotations though.

Langford • Apr 09, 2018 03:16 PM

@FarmerJayhawk You could very well be right. Fingers crossed for KU.

2019 Recruiting • Apr 09, 2018 03:15 PM

@justanotherfan Cunliffe was severely overrated (money helps) and Hurley was done with his act. Sometimes, it's not the coach.

That said Cunliffe is saying the right things now. He's been terrible in games obviously, and I've seen it mentioned that he isn't any better in practice.

I'll be very interested to see if he toughs it out at KU. He, like Preston, has been a kid that quits and moves on when the going gets tough.

2019 Recruiting • Apr 09, 2018 02:44 PM

@justanotherfan It's a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy though. If Self had a completely stacked roster like Cal he would have bench players drafted more often too.

I was impressed with Underwood at OSU. Wish he was still in the Big12, but the guy OSU hired seems to have Bill’s blessing (2 gifted w’s imho) and isn’t too shabby so far.

Next year is going to be very rough for both the Okie schools. If Bill loses to OSU next year I'll be fully convinced LOL.

@BShark He is a good coach. And I expect him to get Illinois turned around. They just need to let him purge the roster first. It was a shit roster he took over. I would be two year from now, the Illini will be happy with that hire.

Of course he would have to be there two years from now lol.

Yeah the Illini fanbase is insane.

Frazier and Nichols are solid players coming back.
I like a lot of the pieces he has added. Dosunmu we all know as he was in the next recruitment tier for KU this year. Jones is a very athletic wing with enormous potential, he should contribute defensively right away. I like the post player they got from Georgia (THE COUNTRY) but he will need time to season/develop. Feliz is a much needed additional ball handler. Haven't seen enough of their other two recruits to comment on them.

2019 Recruiting • Apr 09, 2018 02:22 PM

Illinois got Andres Feliz. Top JUCO PG. Brad has a full platoon coming in.

2019 Recruiting • Apr 09, 2018 02:17 PM

@Kcmatt7 Yeah you would think these kids want to play. PJ probably stays in the draft, and maybe another defection.

2019 Recruiting • Apr 09, 2018 02:09 PM

@Kcmatt7 I mean Tai Wynyard is absolutely gone. Were you thinking another as well?

All Star games have become a joke • Apr 09, 2018 02:07 PM

Yeah, these are just not serious games, so don't take them seriously.

Langford • Apr 09, 2018 01:53 PM

@jayballer73 I don't know anything about the Indiana side of things.

All Star games have become a joke • Apr 09, 2018 01:51 PM

@jayballer73 Hoops summit will be better. They will at least try to play defense, and receive some coaching.

Draft Declarations Thread • Apr 09, 2018 01:41 PM

LOL @ SGA announcing on sports center. Get over yourself.

Langford • Apr 09, 2018 01:40 PM

@JayHawkFanToo When a recruit starts coming to an end I know they try to get people with old ass picks to get on and change them if needed. Doesn't always happen though.

Langford • Apr 09, 2018 01:28 PM

@jayballer73 Remember when the Dotson camp had someone leak to Maryland that Maryland is the pick? That kind of misdirection.

Langford • Apr 09, 2018 01:07 PM

@BeddieKU23 I wonder if there is any misdirection going on.

Langford • Apr 08, 2018 09:55 PM

@jayballer73 The commentators don't know their butt from their face. They said Duke was in the mix for EJ Montgomery when Duke quit recruiting him a few days ago.

What of Lightfoot and Cunliffe? • Apr 08, 2018 09:40 PM

@truehawk93 Next year is his JR year unless he redshirts. The rules are weird. Each of his half years count as a full year of eligibility but he still has a redshirt available.

Langford • Apr 08, 2018 09:35 PM

I get why KU and Duke quit recruiting him but man, Emmitt Williams is a dawgggggggg.

What of Lightfoot and Cunliffe? • Apr 08, 2018 09:31 PM

@jayhawkeyes I saw he was participating in a pick-up game with Mitch at the KU rec today. If he were sitting around sulking and going to transfer, that doesn't seem like something he would do.

Langford • Apr 08, 2018 09:15 PM

Most definitely...QG is a 6-4,5 pg. He's a humble Kobe Bryant caliber player....shhhh...don't tell him that, but something tells me he can handle the comparison.

Grimes has a fantastic feel for the game.

Yeah, that's the rub.

3.5 ast and 2.9 t/os in 29 mpg running the point at Cal.

Langford • Apr 08, 2018 06:09 PM

Doesn't really mean crap but it's fun time with Romeo watch so mentioning that he retweeted this:

@jaybate-1.0 Silvio still doesn't really know what he is doing. Ie the little things like defensive rotations, offensive position etc...

Mitch wasn't the answer against Nova.

Next year, I think there will be many better options. Including just Silvio being more experienced.

Moore • Apr 08, 2018 03:49 PM

Why Garrett played over Cunliffe is like a litmus test for understanding basketball.

2019 Recruiting • Apr 08, 2018 03:42 PM

@FarmerJayhawk Nike having KU pushed out before he gets to play for Self on the U18 team makes a lot of sense unfortunately.
