I really think Enaruna makes a big jump next season. People will ask where did that guy come from.

@BShark I wish Josh would get his head on straight. He’s a baller and could be a very nice supporting piece.
He cant shoot. Head straight or not. His defensive ability is good but a guy like him needs to be a good spot up 3 guy to stick in the league. He doesnt have it.
Cole Aldrich to me is the most underrated and underappreciated player in the Self era. He was a stud. I still blame the Northern Iowa loss on the guards trying to do everything themselves. Cole's average dropped his junior year because the team had more talent than his sophomore year but he still should have been the focus.
Shaka isn't leaving yet. His buyout is over 10 million.
This team won its last game in a Kansas uniform. Not many teams can say that!
South all the way!
@nuleafjhawk lol no
For what’s its worth while I took the picture of my son with Dok(e) I asked if he was playing. He said yes
So far this trip is UNBELIEVABLE. Visited the Fieldhouse this morning and did a walk up tour so got some good pictures by the floor. While My son and I were looking at the Naismith rules an older gentleman and his wife approached us.
He then told my son “that’s my granddaddy”. It was in fact Jim Naismith, James’ grandson. Crazy! Then before we left the Fieldhouse we actually ran into Dok(e) and my son got a picture! We still have the game to look forward to!
Thanks for any and all advice

I'm going to try to get to KU next season or two. You've inspired me! Pretty cool that you get to be there, but there must be some great buzz about Dayton's hoops team this season. I don't have any suggestions except you probably shouldn't go to the bars several have mentioned with your 9 year old!
Yes it's nuts around here for Dayton. Of course all my buddy's know I'm a KU fan and how Maui turned out!
I live just north of Dayton, Ohio. I've been to the field house once, around 15 years ago. It was a quick trip with a friend who lived in Wichita and we got there close to tip time. I didn't get to see much of the campus because of that. This time I'm flying in the night before and I'm bringing my 9 year old son. Obviously I'll check out the DeBruce center but any other must see things I should add?
Thanks.
Indy is only a 2 hour drive for Dayton who could be #2 seed in Midwest.
I agree with Houston.

Thoughts on regional choice if we get it?
When his jumper is working he is fine but it is just too inconsistent. He is thinking too much on offense and needs more opportunities just going to the rim with fewer options. Maybe use him as a screener for Dot on the same side as Braun/Moss.
Defensively he is where we need him to be.
@Kcmatt7 Not saying it's enjoyable but it is proven to keep games close if you can't close it out at the line.
@Kcmatt7 That "fluke way" is basically what March Madness markets.

@chriz Love this idea. You have the option to keep the ball or shoot free throws on anything besides an And 1.
I don't like this one. I just don't think you should be able to hide a players' weaknesses this blatantly.
My wish list:
Actual Jumpballs again. The alternate possession has taken away an actual skill and plays that great coaches can take advantage of. The beginning of each quarter should be a jump ball.
Defensive 3 seconds
In NBA I want the corner 3 gone. The 3 point line should just extend to the sidelines. I'm not sure I'd do this in college just yet.
@dylans I would guess not.
Does anyone else find it funny that they put 22 up in the rafters the same year 22 got suspended 12 games for a brawl?

@BShark What does one's political leanings have to do with what that person expects from a basketball coach?
If you condemn a basketball coach with this veracity, over one single "misleading" statement, wouldn't you think that same person would expect the POTUS to also operate with honesty and integrity?
If honesty and integrity are SOOOOOO important to you as a person, than you shouldn't morally be able to support someone who has lied or mislead the American public 15,000 times in three years.
Again I asked why a political opinion matters the same as an opinion on a basketball coach.
You're condemning hypocrisy while participating in the same thing just the opposite. You're condemning a "lying president" but poo-pooing a lying basketball coach.
I'll give you this.....Politics and college basketball are pretty damn similar, they both reek of corruption! I don't believe anyone who participates in either is clean.
@BShark What does one's political leanings have to do with what that person expects from a basketball coach?
@Kcmatt7 Indiana does the yearly Indiana/Butler/Notre Dame/Purdue thing, though not a tournament.

Indiana and Purdue never play against each other because they play in the conference.
This would be great with KU/MU/WSU/KSU and similarly, KU and KSU wouldn't play against each other in it due to conference.
GS hoping Wiggins can fill the Iggy role. Slash and cutter, catch and shoot 3 guy, good wing defender.
When we have outside shooting going we look really good. Our defense is so good that we can also withstand some bad offensive stretches. They are getting better.

Not a good 19-20
Not sure how this gesture goes over with coach Self's view of "toughness".
@bskeet After the stool he still ran over with David to keep going at Love who had fallen. It's all bad.
I understand in fights you are not thinking but unfortunately for SDS he will be made an example out of.

Silvio is justifiably being called out. But he should not be singled out.
He picked up a stool. That is why he is singled out.
@mayjay He's form is correctable. He just needs to stop leaning back on his release.
Players listen to good coaches. LOL
@COHawk Benches routinely stand up around 5 seconds. A lot of times coaches are shaking hands around that time.
@bskeet You missed a key element....The fact that the game was over and the benches were already standing. If this happened with 10-15 seconds left I don't think K-suck clears bench
@cragarhawk I'm almost at the point where I'd be fine with a change.
Bird...Lambier...LOL Look at Malice in the Palace.
Who the F brought up race....GEEZ
@mayjay DUde Lambieer played 20 years ago! I'm not talking about fouling hard or cheap shots.
I'm talking about standing over guys or staring them down. It's BULL SHIT! If someone stood over me I'd kick them in the nuts. You can talk all you want because the whole crowd doesn't hear it.
When you stand over someone or stare you are embarrassing someone in front of the entire crowd. MANY men would fight out of embarrassment.
FarmerJayhawk said:
Bill didn’t boot Brady for a DUI. He’s not booting Silvio.
Dude that is an awful comparison. DUIs happen all the time. Brawls in college basketball are rare.
NBA culture of stare downs and standing over guys after dunks and blocks. THIS is why guys should get technicals for ANY form of taunting.
Lol
White men
Sorry bud if you’re going to blame white guys for this you are an idiot.

I agree with emotion without taunting. The problem is taunting has become normal in the NBA, which all college players watch and emulate.
NBA will have an all-out fight at some point soon due to the unnecessary staredown after dunks. The refs need to take care of it before it happens.Got close to a fight here:

Damn I was right about a fight but I thought it be the NBA not US!!!
Just finished watching the game and immediately thought about that discussion.
Does anyone remember 07-08? If you were on message boards back then there was a "start Sherron over Russell" argument going. I was on the start Sherron side. The argument for Russell was not the same as David this year for Self, but similar. Not chemistry but Sr leadership and defense. Offensively when Sherron was in there that team was awesome. Now Self tended to adjust in-game to this and if you go back and watch the National Championship game Russell as a senior sat and watched as Sherron played the end of the 4th and the OT.
My point is Self has always shown loyalty to hustle/leaders/defensive guys but generally leans to the offense when we need it. As long as Moss doesnt fall deep into the rotation we should be fine.
It's the old coach saying, "it isnt who starts the game, its who FINISHES it!"

Speaking of Moss and the teams need for him this past offseason. Can anyone explain to me why the staff can't identify shooters in High School especially ones that play 40 minutes from the KU campus? Spencer Jones a 6'7 freshman at Standford is 46/102(45%) from 3 this year. I don't understand why they don't take chances on shooters and teach them how to play team defense. I understand the need for great athletes but recruit one shooter a year, even if a marginal athlete, and you should have 1/2 rotational role-playing shooters every season.
The strength of schedule will keep us high even with a couple of hiccups.
@BeddieKU23 But how does the P/100 in those lineups compare to the Bill Self "toughness" scale. That is all that Self talks about anymore. Toughness....I'm actually sick of it. I dont care how tough you are if you cant shoot.

Concerning running the two bigs... a part of me says "trust Self." He's proved me wrong before.
What everyone forgets about the 2 big thing on this team is that Marcus on a scouting report is ZERO threat from the outside. So really its almost like playing with 3 bigs because anyone guarding Marcus can sag. Add to that Dotson and Agbaji are inconsistent outside shooters and its one big recipe for a clogfest.
