@HighEliteMajor Can we still call them Meth U?
@BShark I can see the point either way.
So when a recruit commits, shouldn’t the post be in the main Basketball section?
No more s’mores.
Where’s the FBI in fraud case. Be interesting if the FBI went after the school- not the Athletic dept.
I suppose perhaps that current media contracts would be impacted, but with cable/satellite customers quickly eroding, why is the University not pursuing an independent streaming video service? Looks like audio is available but not video.
Anyone have insight on current state and/or future plans?
The Star & Jesse pointed out that 3 of these schools Asst Coaches that were "named" are Nike schools and 1 an UA school...interesting that it is the Addidas exec named.
@approxinfinity and lo and behold - Addidas, not Nike, gets caught up in FBI bribery type scandal.

@JayHawkFanToo I don't know why footwear and football are even that relevant. I haven't bought cleats in how many decades...but basketball shoes - seems a much bigger market.
@HighEliteMajor I don't know - I'm reaching into my mid 50's and retirement is sounding better all the time. Like every morning.
But then again - I'm not gonna be setting any records.
I was glad to read about Mickelson's success in Europe - Czech Republic in particular. Always felt that he got a bad deal.

That was the year of light and dark side division but I must say, if there hadn't been as much personal attacks - this site had the best analysis discussions ever. I learned more about basketball - how to watch it and analyze it than ever before. Learned about advanced stats and philosophy of play and player development.
Frankly, I miss that.
@approxinfinity might have a few Venezuelan's on the site who'd take offence!
@approxinfinity how do bucketpoints compare to the bolivar?
Maybe a case of "broken window" policy being applied. Smaller incident that is dealt with thoroughly - setting precedent in heading off more serious long term issues... especially with the history many have laid out.
I didn't think his numbers show him to be very efficient overall. Big numbers but guessing his utilization was big too.
@approxinfinity I'm not sure about Svi's numbers. They seem more predicated on volume than efficiency. I don't see him playing the volume shooter role on the team unless his 3 pt % improves.
Who did it? Payback on him 😉?
@JayHawkFanToo sad that our first draftee is #25 on here. Looks like most of Kentuckys team would be drafted before one of KU's but then worst of all is a MU player is listed at #1
I cut the cord this Spring. No more $ to support the freeloading garbage channels including ESPN. Will have to figure out how to watch Jayhawks games come Fall/Winter.
Wonder when UNC will be adjudicated by NCAA for their academic fraud.

@JayHawkFanToo. Unless Udoka suddenly takes up playing hackysack and following Phish, I don't see where we will be disappointed.
Awesome line.
The balls failed to drop.
I'll vote stay on the logic some have expressed about why schedule a "go" decision.
@Kcmatt7 under current Venezuelan rule, investment only would lead to war when they basically mis-appropriate the money to continue to prop up the socialist administration if we wanted to recoup any of it.
@JayHawkFanToo great point. Like advanced metrics for stats, need a top player / conf team stat. Or top picks ratio to total players in each league.
Love mountain biking. Got to ride a few of the Lawrence & KC trails end of last year. Not too bad.
@KUSTEVE said in Question for @Jaybate...and anyone else that wants to chime in:
@JayHawkFanToo Roy learned the scam from Dean Smith, implemented it at KU, and brought the same guy that was running the scam to UNC to run the same deal. It's one of Dean's ideas Roy ran with. I highly doubt with the amount of heat that has been generated by this story they could simply blame KU, and walk off untouched. There would be a lynch mob over that one. The NCAA will end up classifying it as an academic problem, not an athletic problem, and slap their hands. It might take them years to get to that point. It will not include KU.
There were "independent" study courses in Roy's time with one or two select faculty that simply required a paper for the semester. If I'm recalling accurately, mainly in African studies and maybe Criminal Justice departments. Believe a Duke issue/expose was tied to Dept of Criminal Justice.
@JayHawkFanToo let CA schools forfeit!
Sad! Was hoping to see him back in pick-n-pop situations.
@elpoyo you were watching a different game than I was.
Great effort their and taking advantage of an opportunity

Ref's gonna start helping UNC?
that last graphic seems to indicate so...especially with the quality of that last call
Ref's gonna start helping UNC?
Memhis brief:
B B Kings Blues Club was great.
Central BBQ was highly overrated....the ribs very good. everything else, meh. Their sides: probably could find the Always save yellow labels out back in the trash. Gotta at least try. Pulled Pork, supposedly one of their specialties - equal to one of my mediocre smoking attempts.
However, Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken - very good. Definitely worth hitting that.

Was hanging out downtown...never been there. Not sure what to expect
@JayHawkFanToo See if that last steal gets them going.
Then the & 1
Spent the last 24 hours in Memphis...was funny seeing all the memphis tiger stuff...Should have worn my KU 2008 NC stuff!
Slow, bad start for Zapped Zags
Game seemed to be very well played overall offensively.
Thought I was going to have to start this thread.
I'm pulling for Zags. Don't want another blue blood to get another NC before we get another.
@approxinfinity not a fan of having our loss being to eventual champion, huh?
@approxinfinity said:
@Crimsonorblue22 Can't score from the outside either
Yeah, didn't look like they had a play for a 3 when they needed it, and took too long trying to get a 2 up even.

This relates to how a coach has his team ready to play on a short turnaround vs. an unfamiliar opponent.
Just a thought about this, because it has been mentioned a lot. Does this reflect a flaw in short-turnaround coaching by Self but his 12-5 record in the second round with that same turnaround does not mean the opposite?
I guess I am not willing to make very firm conclusions or find patterns where these things are based on info so highly selective.
And we play a ton of Sat / Mon games. Granted - not unfamiliar teams.

@jayballer54 Gosh I hope Bragg comes back...........I think he can be a good player. IMO whatever happened off court really affected his play.
Plus I think him playing the 5 is out of position for his skill set and mindset. With others holding down that spot next year I think we'd see different results.
@BigBad but on the other hand, he can't finish in traffic, through contact. That could be why he didn't play.
Good question for Self.
I hope Bragg DOESNT transfer. With Az holding down the paint with Coleby, Bragg will be able to play his natural position.
I think he will thrive.
Newman has had a year to learn
We'll be re-loaded and ready to set new records. And just maybe punch into the end zone for a change.
20% from 3
That hurt. Oregon had a lot to do with that by destroying our confidence
Had 4 RB's by our bigs.
Bragg didn't see the floor. But we were seeing extreme pressure inside and Bragg doesn't finish through contact.
LL ended up with 9 points but only 3 RB's. Coleby got 1 in 4 minutes

I want Roy or Cal to beat Dana Altman and his guys badly.
Then Frank Martin (#BIFM2!) can finish off the winner.
I would rather have another program win it.
I don't want blue bloods adding to their NC totals while we don't.
