Double T’s there was a total Higgins move

At this point I thought we were screwed.

# 1 at Real #1 Game Thread • Mar 17, 2020 02:33 AM

It’s cathartic!

@Texas-Hawk-10 I think the difference is how easy this team scored (most of the time). I just looked it up and they were 42% from 3 as a team. Could be I just have a really soft spot for this group. Perry, Frank, and Devonte are all up in my top 10 favorite Jayhawks. Wayne just barely misses the cut.

Crap I was at that SDSU game. During the height of the polar vortex.

Possibly unpopular opinion. This group would wipe the floor with the 19-20 Hawks

# 1 at Real #1 Game Thread • Mar 17, 2020 02:13 AM

Cheick just whiffed on that blockout. He’s so talented but makes a lot of bonehead mistakes.

3 hours too so they're showing the whole game too!

Easily a top 5 game that's ever taken place inside AFH.

Phew! Might as well. That game was NUTS. I’ve never watched the tv broadcast so this is a lot of fun.

Nice player. Quinnipiac known more for political polling than basketball but I’d take him for sure if we have a spot due to unexpected transfer.

Yikes at his stats. Looks like we dodged a bullet there though I'm guessing he would have been processed by Bill long ago.

That was a weird ass recruitment too. I think it went into June

One shining Jayhawk moment!⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟🌟☄️

That’s awesome!

Any discussion about climate change and energy is fundamentally unserious if we’re banning fracking and nuclear.

Also lol at Biden going SCOREBOARD BISH

As an aside, it’s a FEC violation to talk about a Super PAC that supports you. Bernie knows this, he’s just trying to catch Biden.

Biden is right here. Everyone hated TARP but it was that or a barter economy.

@approxinfinity said in 8:00 Democratic Debate Tonight, Washington D.C, on CNN:

Bernie walked into a giant trap.

This is Joe’s element. Bernie couldn’t run a popsicle stand. He’s best in front of large crowds yelling his talking points. Joe is so much better in small groups working with people to get things done.

@approxinfinity said in 8:00 Democratic Debate Tonight, Washington D.C, on CNN:

Biden sounds good thus far. Winning.

Bernie spending far too much time on non-virus issues and dumping on Trump.

@FarmerJayhawk said in 8:00 Democratic Debate Tonight, Washington D.C, on CNN:

JESUS BERNIE YOU CANT COMPARE THE FED QE TO FISCAL STIMULUS THIS IS BASIC SHIT

Seriously, this would be like the Fed buying your credit card debt then selling it back to you with interest.

Significantly cutting doctor’s salaries is not the way to get more docs, Bernie.

JESUS BERNIE YOU CANT COMPARE THE FED QE TO FISCAL STIMULUS THIS IS BASIC SHIT

Not sure if I’m going to watch this one. Already voted, the race is effectively over, and not sure how much left there is to learn. If I were Biden I would’ve shut it down.

Next season... • Mar 15, 2020 10:14 PM

@kjayhawks said in Next season...:

@FarmerJayhawk the trouble is that they are saying that 40% of the population is infected and probably doesn’t even know it. Some people are wondering if they did have in January. We had a sickness at work that sounds like Coronavirus and we were all tested for flu, strep and pneumonia but all were negative. But we all were tired and coughing for 3 weeks. It’s just crazy right now with how little actual info there is.

I don’t think anyone’s saying that’s absolutely going to happen. It’s all based on projections, and some of those are from the data we had weeks ago and a scenario where we did nothing.

I agree there’s significant uncertainty, which makes caution all the more prudent.

Next season... • Mar 15, 2020 09:54 PM

Heck of a lot easier to cancel basketball games than an entire industry. We saw an official get it, and possibly spread it to players. What if those players become infected, spread to other players, and go home to be with their families and infect them? It wasn’t safe to hold the tournament, as much as it sucks for players and fans. Just not worth the risk.

Next season... • Mar 15, 2020 07:47 PM

If you all are aching for hoops (and really, who isn't?) go back and watch the 2019 Peach Jam final. Kid was amazing.

@benshawks08 said in Coronavirus Thread: Boy, guys. I really just don't know. Best to keep tabs.:

@FarmerJayhawk Yeah just reading more about the corona virus sick leave bill and feeling disappointed that dems allowed the republicans to get an exemption for employers with more than 500 employees which ends up being about half of all workers. And honestly if Super Tuesday were this coming Tuesday I think the dem result might be a little different.

It’s not really a dem v rep thing and leaders all around need to step up right now or step aside.

Yeah, that’s what happens when they rush a bill through. Members only got 20 minutes to read it before the vote. No way to run a legislature. They’re going to re-run the bill this weekend because there were significant errors. It’s shocking, I know 😂

@benshawks08 said in Coronavirus Thread: Boy, guys. I really just don't know. Best to keep tabs.:

@BShark and then there’s this ?s=21

To be fair a lot of GOP governors have done a good job (Charlie Baker in MA, Mike DeWine in OH, and Bill Lee in TN come to mind). I think it’s really bringing out who’s capable of doing more than campaigning.

It sounds like this thing is getting worse in parts of Europe. Think folks were really quick to say only old folks are at risk. ?s=21

Next season... • Mar 15, 2020 03:09 AM

I made a NCAA 2k8 (best college hoops game of all time, no debate there, and the good folks at operation sports update most rosters each season) roster with all of the recruits sans Jossell and Doke, Dot. Oh. My. Lord.

@BShark said in Differentiating fact from opinion on COVID-19:

@FarmerJayhawk interested in some good follows. Twitter can be rough sometimes, had to unfollow a KU guy that was just non-stop conspiracy tweeting since the corona stuff ramped up.

Off the top of my head:
Tyler Cowen, Sue Dynarski, Megan McArdle, Tom Nichols, Wojtek Kopczuck, Chris Arnade, Noah Smith, Luke Thompson, Scott Cunningham, Bad Econ Takes. It skews heavily toward economists (sorry, job hazard) but you’ll get everyone from very liberal to Never Trump Conservative to price gouging is good libertarian.
