Just noted: #6 Nevada doesn’t play a single ranked team all year. Interesting as it’s a senior laden team. I read somewhere they start all 5th year seniors.

@jayballer73 - I thought Auburn attacked more than the free throw discrepancy indicated. Auburn put up only 7 more 3’s than Duke. Duke was gifted that game at the FT line - by 18. Lots of (Luau) home cooking....

Watched most of San Diego State vs Duke. Lots of frustration on the faces of the SDSU players for fouls on minor stuff. Duke is good and free throws didn't win the game, but there wasn't much continuity.
Note: seems like every game today, the big men were setting screens with legs wide apart, but no calls.....

So, if I understand this suit,
a) it is filed by Brian Bowen, the player - not the father;
b) the father is not included, even though he was the one who asked for/received the payments; and
c) the suit includes many people besides Adidas in an effort to grab the largest settlement possible.
I’m not certain anyone wants this to go to trial. It’s almost extortion?

I read the $60,000 was paid directly to a strength and conditioning coach by a Maryland booster who wanted his money back (Maryland issue!). Thus no $$$ through the guardian’s account and the NCAA will have to be satisfied Somehow. The $2,500 is relatively minor in my mind, much like some prior small $$ payments at KU.
It will take a while to sort this mess out.
Moving to international ball (a suggestion made by other posters) didn’t work out for Preston. I’m not aware of any high school player that navigated those waters very successfully....

@jayballer73 - I suspect Long wants to keep this close to the vest, avoiding (or maybe encouraging?) speculation. He’s a pro and is having a good time. Personally, it’s better than total silence. Over on The Phog , there’s 150+ pages in a single topic on a new football coach. The vast majority of it came in about 5 hours yesterday. It’s hilarious and every poster was having a great time. One guy (appparently illegally) went onto airport grounds to take pictures of people emerging from the aircraft. (I don’t doubt alcohol was involved! 🙄). I’m going to roll with it and enjoy the ride. We’ll know soon enough!
Fires aren’t that close to LA stadium, as fires are NW of LA proper. Smoke has mainly been blown toward the ocean. About 40% contained. I suspect it will be mostly contained by game time. The issue could be wind direction, pushing the smoke toward the field.
Stadium will be full, if the word can get out.

As I rewatch the game, Fran made so many dumb comments. For instance, after a Doke dunk, it was “That’s what happens when you don’t double him!”. Doke had 2 men hanging on him and a third running right at him.

ESPN2 appears to be several minutes behind CBSSports.com
The ESPN2 broadcast of Stanford/UNC seems to have magnified the crowd and the shoe squeaks. I can barely hear the announcers.
Anybody else notice this?
UT was an 18 pt favorite.
OU was only a 9 pt favorite on the road. UTSA has done well in the last few years.
Duke doesn’t play a true road game again until Jan 8. They’ll stay #1 for a while...

@JayHawkFanToo and @Kcmatt7 - I have Amazon Prime and can watch it on Roku and Apple TV. However, I find it almost impossible to rewind or fast forward the video. It's not my first choice. However, I have over 200 iTune movies plus YouTubeTV now. Settling in for the winter....

@JayHawkFanToo - y'all have convinced me. I dropped Netflix but did NOT add Sling. I subscribed to YouTube TV today and will come out of hibernation next March. My net cost was a $7 increase for a LOT more sports and regular TV.
@Kcmatt7 - I would have had ESPN1, 2 & 3, but no ESPNU or SECN via SlingTV.

Shaka has quite a bit of talent coming in next year. I suspect he has bought himself another year, IF he has a half-way decent showing this year.....

@Kcmatt7 - I've "cut the cord" and and only have AppleTV and NetFlix. I usually subscribe to SlingTV for ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN3. Now I'm thinking I'll drop Netflix and go with YouTube TV (if I can get it through ROKU or Apple TV).
The SIU-UK game is on SECN tonight. No other way to watch?

Fisher had a second knee surgery 9/4, which is expected to keep him out 6-10 weeks. Sounds like he may make it back just in time for league play....

I like Dotson's game. He's a bit under the radar now, but I expect even more points from him. There will be games where the interior game isn't working well, putting the game into the hands of positions 1-3.
