Well, so much for the 6 pt lead..we hardly knew ye.
OK.....6 pt lead with 2:32.....we need a bucket or two and a stop or two..and we win...…..probably need to make FTs. too.
Really bad exchange....4 pt lead...and KJ comes up short...but we make up for it by Grimes fouling a 3 pt shooter....could be the pivotal 20 seconds in the game, right there.

We should be up by 10-12, but the turnovers and bad execution have killed us. Who can improve on their performance in the 2nd half? Them or us? Problem is...you let a team not play well at home and tie you....
Really pathetic offensive performance....but even with that...we're tied.
WVU has looked bad on offense...problem is...we have looked almost as bad....we've had decent shots that we should have made. But the execution has still been very poor.

@wissox I was in grad school during your first year. I went to the S16 game in 86 at Kemper and said to the person next to me when Brown got the tech.."Larry just pissed the season away". Fortunately, it didn't pan out that way. I moved to Michigan that summer and I can't tell you how many people told me we cheated (or the clock operator did) to win. I had to remind them of the Technical and their missed free throws.

By the way on the telecast of the Elite game that year against NC State, Jim Valvano had one of the best lines I've ever heard. Before the game he said.."We're here in Kansas (sic), they're singing Rock Chalk Jayhawk...I don't know what it means, but I know it doesn't mean Good Luck, Jim"

@justanotherfan I get what you are saying. I was one that thought Shaka would do better than he has at UT. Some on here have pointed out that while his team's at VCU were good, he didn't (or maybe only the once...I don't remember) win his conference. He did have his team prepared and road a hot streak into the final four. And you correctly point out, in my opinion, what Self did wrong in that game. That, and I believe, the Morii not taking VCU seriously. His snarky comment about KU as he came into the league probably doesn't help him win over KU fans.

@jayhawkcsg I have to believe that it is mostly that Ochai has improved a lot..both Self and Ochai's mother said as much. However, I agree, the calmness and the basketball IQ stuff must have been there from the start. Puzzling, indeed.
Not sure how to feel about KSU winning. Certainly hurts ISU, which is good...but KSU now has a road win that we don't have.
WVU lost at home to OSU.....they are in a world of hurt.
@Texas-Hawk-10 I did note that Garrett had zero turnovers last night......and he ran as the lead guard for a period of time.
It's interesting they mentioned matchups as the reason that Big Dave didn't play much. Wouldn't he have matched up better with the TCU big guy? He had his way with us down low for a large part of the minutes he played.
Why do we let them have those 2 wide open 3 s?

@jayballer73 I guess I would say that we beat both MSU and UT. Those are two good teams. We are capable of beating anyone. Will we in the tourney? Your guess is as good as mine.
@KUSTEVE Agree. This loss in and of itself does not hurt us. Losing on the road to one of the teams that will compete for the conference championship does not sink our ship. How we respond is what matters.

Looking at ISU's starting lineup....Isn't that a matchup problem for us with our 2 big guys? Maybe not when Lard comes in. Of course, it is also a matchup problem for them.
@DanR Good points about Frank's vertical and rebounding. He was a great rebounder from the guard position.
