@wissox I remember seeing that score and thinking...what the??

@jayballer73 I was going to make that point on Garrett's minutes. Once Doke comes back, he likely won't be playing as much...and Doke is one more scoring option. I think other's make a good point....he;s probably better as a 20 min. type player unless and until he improves as a scoring threat. But his defense is awfully good compared to most of the other guys.

@wissox Thanks for the link. Now it all makes sense. Very tough inside player. Very physical. Offensive skills never quite developed as you would have thought. But yes...good for him.

@wissox I go to a couple of Eastern games a year and I always wondered how Thompson ended up at EMU. Although his scoring isn't real high, he seems to have a lot of physical tools. Maybe whatever issues were there kept him from being highly recruited (only guessing on that). Anyway...I've always liked him as a player.

@jayhawkcsg I was worried at halftime because we had an 8 pt lead that should have been at least 12 based on how it seemed we outplayed them. I was worried that our missed opportunities could come back to bite us. Didn't feel right.

@jayhawkcsg That is a great comment about the fast break...really bad. So many times we didn't finish.

As we have seen frequently, it was a tale of two halves. If felt like the 8 pt halftime lead should have been at least 12...maybe more. We really outplayed them. The 2nd half we didn't play any defense and jacked up way too many contested 3s. Giving up 49 pts in the 2nd hald….bad. Doke would have helped, for sure. I didn't realize we only made 2 FTs and no FGs in the last 5 mins...tough to win that way. I usually don't complain about officiating..it usually goes both ways. But the tie up on Garrett was so obviously a foul....it makes you wonder what the heck they saw.....and it was at a key point in the game too.

@jayballer73 I am worried too. ASU is a good team and we are playing them at their place. Plus.....we all have too many memories of those "stinker" road games just before the Holiday.

It now appears that Tech will be our biggest threat...especially with Wade out for awhile. Beard has done a heck of a job down there.

@Bosthawk Agree. Garrett is so valuable when he plays like that...even if he hardly scores.

We were 1 point away from losing 3 in a row. I feel like last year turned out pretty good. Excellent points. We haven't played great ball yet and we are undefeated with victories over some real good teams. I feel good about that. We will get better.

I think we win. If Nova is hot, they could really make us sweat or win. But I think the crowd will be so pumped we will play with great energy. This Nova team is not as good as the last 2 that we played.

I don't want to stereotype, but there were a lot of Villanova jerks in Detroit in 08 and in Louisville in 16...….they couldn't keep their big mouths shut.

It feels like we won a game that we didn't have any business winning.

@kjayhawks Apparently, Hunt lied to the Chiefs about what happened in Feb. That, as much as the assault, is why he was released. Plus this is the 2nd time for him. Hill's assault happened in college and he paid a price for it. The Chiefs gave him a 2nd chance. I believe that Hunt will get a 2nd chance somewhere at some point down the line.

I will be curious to see KSU play Marquette. Comparing performances against common opponents doesn't always tell you much....but it will be interesting to see how KSU looks.

@Crimsonorblue22 It has always been on my bucket list as well to go there when we participate in that tourney. Maybe some day....

@BShark So if you do bad stuff....but the uncertainty is over you can get recruits. Makes perfect sense in the "amateur" system that is in place.

It seemed to me that the Dedric we saw in the 2nd half was the Dedric we've been hearing about and expecting to see.

@KirkIsMyHinrich You are right about ISU. They beat SDS by 20. With OU's win over FLA. and Tech playing well...B12 is looking better than I thought they would. TCU losing to Lipscomb is bad, though.

@BigBad You may be proven right about only a top 10-15 team....but, in theory, we should be able to win the B12..

@BShark In the spring if it looks like Doke and Dedric are gone (and SDS is not eligible)...don't you think that helps our chances with Hurt? Of course, we don't know what he or his family thinks about the FBI mess.

I didn't see the exhibitions, but I don't put a lot of weight to them anyway. I'll say we win in a close game. Reason: our effort will be better against tough competition and we will actually run some plays. Self will also tighten up the rotation.

Oh, you would not believe how often I have heard that here in Michigan from MSU fans. Some seem to think that Cliff was bound for MSU until we swept in and paid him. One local radio guy in particular rails on that topic. And then Josh spurned MSU and playing with his buddy from Flint.....that was the topper. People here swear that Izzo and Belein have nothing to do with Shoe money.

@HighEliteMajor To me it's more like....I wanted to believe that it wasn't happening, but I knew it was. This just validates what I had been fearing. There was too much smoke. My biggest fear is that we (and Self) get it in the neck worse than other programs because of the texts. If our program is the only one with texts that have become public.....we could be in serious trouble. And I agree with you about the comment about no proof...while the texts were purposely non-specific...we all know what they mean.

@BShark If McBride commits, does that affect Stanley? Is Stanley a combo?
