Embiid: "F--- Lavar" • Jul 10, 2017 02:53 AM

The NBA just fined Embiid $10K for his post. ↗

ROYALS vs Seattle Game 3 • Jul 07, 2017 06:01 AM

@Crimsonorblue22

Glad to hear. I had my AC down a couple of weeks ago and it costed me $400 for 3 pounds of Freon, a ripoff no doubt but what can you do when your AC us down and the temperature is high?

Is Breitbart a legitimate news site? • Jul 07, 2017 05:41 AM

@approxinfinity

I find it interesting that when a news outlet publishes stories favorable to Trump its validity is questioned but when the majority of the MSM is on the tank for Obama and Clinton and all things liberal we don't hear a peep.

Keep in mind that CNN, the New York Times and the Washington Post are the publications that last week alone had to retract multiple false stories, CNN even had to apologize to the target of one of the fake stories.

If you want to see bullying, see what CNN just did... ↗where is the outrage?

You asked the question and I simply answered but I prefer not to discuss politics, at least not on in this forum, so I will get back to commenting on KU basketball related subjects.

@BShark

I believe the articles is about the top 10 ranked players only.

"Josh Jackson Can't Shoot." • Jul 07, 2017 01:30 AM

@Kcmatt7

Unless he fixes his outside shot so he can score effectively in the League, Lonzo is just another poor man's Ricky Rubio. I believe that Jackson has already done most of the "fixing" while at KU and now he just need to fine tune his skills and his upside and ceiling are higher than Ball's.

The Venezuelan Socialist Diet • Jul 06, 2017 10:22 PM

@KUSTEVE

Like all totalitarian dictatorships, when money runs out violence is used to keep the people down. A real tragedy what is happening there.

He will be playing against much better competition than any he could face in the summer here. He will get plenty of playing time and valuable experience. A win-win situation.

@HawkChamp

Ellis shot 0.438 from the 3 in his senior year, 0.376 in the G League.Pretty good if you ask me.

Cole • Jul 06, 2017 09:35 PM

Cole is without a doubt one of the good guys not just in basketball but in all professional sports. One of the things he always said he wanted to do was to be the first in his family to get a college degree. By now he's is pretty much set financially for life and yet he took on line classes and got his college degree; you have to respect a man with this much character. McLemore seems to be following the same path...they are both great ambassadors for KU.

"Josh Jackson Can't Shoot." • Jul 06, 2017 09:15 PM

@Kcmatt7

Spot on. Makes you wonder why he would be picked ahead of Jackson who has much more upside. Of course the hype created by daddy Ball might have had something to do with it in publicity crazy La La land.

"Josh Jackson Can't Shoot." • Jul 06, 2017 03:22 PM

@dylans

If you want to talk about ugly (and block-able) shots then Lonzo Ball is at the top of the list...and nobody seems to care or talk much of it.

"Josh Jackson Can't Shoot." • Jul 06, 2017 06:02 AM

@bskeet

I posted similar numbers before. Jackson is a quick learner, he went from being a below average shooter at the start of the season to a solid shooter during Conference play. Anyone that says he is a poor shooter has not seen him play throughout the season and has not done his homework.

"Josh Jackson Can't Shoot." • Jul 06, 2017 01:43 AM

@REHawk

The rookie scale for the #4 pick would be:

Year 1 - $4,241,700

Year 2 - $5,034,600

Year 3 - $5,882,900

Year 4 - 26.5% increase over year 3

Teams can sign players for as much as 120% or as little as 80% of the above figures. $27M would be well above these numbers.

Sorry to hear about your wife, hopefully she is doing better now.

Here is the link to the full article you mentioned in your post. ↗

@Red.Rooster

I have so much respect for you and for how you are handling what life brought you. Reading your account makes it easy to see why your generation was the one that made our country great.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife.

@wissox

Claiming to be a fan and actually being one are two different things and actions speak louder than words. BTW, my memory is not what it used to be and I could be wrong but I don't recall @elpoyo saying he was a fan.

@kjayhawks

KU makes considerably more money playing at the Sprint Center in KC than at the Intrust in Wichita, easier logistics and the KU fan base is much larger as well.

@wissox

You can take every post @elpoyo has posted, replace KU with UK and Self with Calipari and post them on a Kentucky forum and you get the exact same effect and a better case...remember that since Coach Self has been at KU, it has won as many national championships as UK and Calipari, more conference titles on a much stronger conference and, when you look at the talent disparity, the criticism of Calipari woul be more justified.

@elpoyo is just your typical run of the mill generic troll, every forum has one, @elpoyo happens to be this forum's troll.

Tarik Black Cut by Lakers • Jul 02, 2017 05:54 PM

I thought he was under contract, I guess not or the Lakers bought out the contract. The Lakers are getting ready to completely overhaul the team so it is not really a surprise. Hopefully Tarik gets picked up by another team.

Again, I don't recall MU basketball wanting to play KU the previous years when they absolutely sucked but now that they are think they might have a decent team, they want validation by playing KU...all upside for them and all downside for KU. I say go find validation with your new friends in the SEC. If they want to play a program with the initials K and U, play UK and it will continue to beat their a$$es like they have been doing since they moved to the SEC.

@kjayhawks

KSU can get away playing teams other than WSU at Intrust; I seriously doubt KU could do the same unless it plays WSU. Why would KU give up one game at AFH and the revenue ($600K+) just to play in Wichita?

I understand what you are saying but financially it makes no sense to KU.

Wayne cashes in with two year contract • Jul 02, 2017 05:08 AM

Congrats to Wayne, he got a shot and made the best of it and now he is rewarded with a contract. He is a great example of what hard work and perseverance can do.

John Calipari interested in Knicks job. • Jun 30, 2017 02:44 PM

@Kcmatt7

Calipari has been a coach in the NBA and his record is 72-112, 0.391. He was 3-17 in his third season when he was mercifully let go by the Nets.

I believe the article indicated that he wants to be President of Operations AND Coach.

@Kcmatt7

The Sprint Center works for me... :smiley:

On the other hand, you are back to looking like Coach Self's spurned lover.

Pitino back to his old job with additional baggage...perfect for UK. :smiley:

Interesting that the talk just started again now that they think they will have a decent team. I did not hear a peep when Kim Anderson was putting out the dumpster fire and the programs was the SEC favorite punch bag.

HOW BILL SOLVED THE RUBIK'S CUBE • Jun 29, 2017 07:18 PM

@jaybate-1.0

Think about what has happened to two dominant basketball school’s athletic programs that jumped conferences: Syracuse, Louisville. The move to a new conference leaves them essentially junior members in conferences that will no longer fight to protect them from subversion.

I am not sure what you mean by Louisville and Syracuse becoming junior members in the ACC. Syracuse has not been elite, dominant or even good for a while now. Louisville was a good program and still is but it was never better than UNC or Duke. The NCAA violation and corresponding sanctions would have happened regardless of conference affiliation, in a smaller conference, perhaps the penalties would have been greater.

Louisville finished 3rd in the ACC behind UNC and Florida State and ahead of Notre Dame (another newcomer who is doing fine in the new conference) and yes, Duke.; so much for being Junior Member. Syracuse finished in the bottom half as expected; I don't believe anyone thought it would be a top program in the ACC.

Maryland, who left the ACC for the Big Ten finishes third in the conference behind Purdue and Wisconsin and ahead of traditional powers MU and MSU, Indiana and the Ohio State to name a few.

Missouri was dumpster waiting to catch fire...which it did after leaving the Big 12 for the SEC but it had nothing to do with the move but with the condition the basketball programs was left by Haith, the departure of Pinkel and the school implosion after the Ferguson riots and the consequent mishandling of racial unrest by an inept administration and the ensuing drop in enrollment; none of that can be blamed on the move to the SEC.

Mo Bamba • Jun 29, 2017 06:05 PM

This clown wants to be a sports agent? Does he really believe that throwing, who would have been his first potential client, under the bus is a good business move? Nothing to see here, most likely nothing will come out from this. Even if some of the allegations are proven to be true, having this numb nuts as a witness will make it look like a case of sour grapes.

At 32 years old, Chris Paul is getting old when compared to the average NBA age of 25-26. He probably has one 4 year contract left in him before his value drop drastically.

KU TO BIG TEN??????? • Jun 29, 2017 12:23 AM

Hey...we almost beat TCU and did beat Texas, should be enough to make KU a full member of the Big 12...we are talking the Big 12, right?

You are right and I stand corrected. I misread the score of the KU- Oregon game.

Kind of Cool • Jun 28, 2017 04:04 PM

@bskeet

It makes you wonder how Manning would rank if he had been healthier. Heinrich played 2 less seasons than Manning but played more minutes. In fact, other than Pierce, no other KU player played as many minutes as Captain Kirk...say in the last 30 years.

As long as it does not involve politics (they have a deep liberal bias), Snopes is not that bad. But why listen to me...or Snopes, do your own research and reach your own conclusions; at least I provide some links to support my statements, what do you provide other than hot air?

HOW BILL SOLVED THE RUBIK'S CUBE • Jun 28, 2017 03:16 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10

You can try and justify it however you want, but it doesn’t change the reality that when KU reaches the Elite 8 (50% of the time under Self), the odds say KU is going have their worst scoring game of the season that night.

I don't think so. I can count at least 5 games last season when KU scored less points. I have not checked other years but I am sure the result will be similar. Hyperbole will not make your case stronger.

2018 NBA Draft • Jun 28, 2017 03:00 PM

@dylans

When a clown is even too much for wrestling where does he go next? The Ringling Bros., Barnum and Bailey is not around anymore.

BBB - Barnum, Bailey and Ball has a nice ring to it.

2018 NBA Draft • Jun 28, 2017 03:13 AM

So far Lonzo has been mostly hype. Remember when daddy Ball predicted he would lead UCLA to the national title? Well, that did not happen. Conference? Nope, finished third. Conference Tournament? Nope, schooled by Arizona. NCAA? Nope, schooled by Kentucky in the Sweet sixteen and then daddy Ball blamed the loss on "white players"...who is daddy Ball going to blame when he is schooled in the NBA? Keep in mind that UCLA had a loaded team with 4 players selected in the draft, 2 in the first round and yet the team lead by Ball underachieved.

@Crimsonorblue22

I did not say it wasn't...

@jaybate-1.0

A little late to the party, aren't you. This topic was already discussed in this forum weeks ago...

@Texas-Hawk-10

With Wiggins, Buttler and Towns the scoring is now pretty decent. I do agree that Rubio would be great for the Spurs; he is a great game manager and perhaps more importantly...a fun player to watch.

@Kcmatt7

Nope, I thought I was agreeing with you...:smiley:

@Kcmatt7

Minnesota has in a way the same problem that KU has...who would want to leave California for frigid Minnesota other than for a ton of money?

KU has the same issue trying to recruit elite players to what is the stereotype of a boring Midwest location instead of the high power East and West coast locations and big cities.

HOW BILL SOLVED THE RUBIK'S CUBE • Jun 27, 2017 03:07 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10

Better competition? You can look at any data and come up with all kinds of trend and coincidences, most of which don't mean a thing.

Have you ever read the list of similarities between Lincoln and Kennedy ↗? At first sight it seems hard to believe that there could be so many coincidences but when you look at it in more detail it is really not that big of a deal and a number of coincidences can be found for any two people and it has even been debunked by Snopes. ↗

Likewise, you can take any number of stats and arrange them to fit any desired outcome. Remember what Will Rogers said...there are lies, damn lies and statistics.
