@Kcmatt7 Our first game w/o the big guy meant Dedric was in different spots on the court, doing different things. It's going to take time to learn to play differently, since they were just learning how to play another way with Doke.

@SlickRockJayhawk The post season is different. The mentality is different. Hence, the message is different. He's assuming b4 the postseason, they already are playing with a free mind. he just wants them to play relaxed in the tournament- something we haven't always done.

Graham Couch is basically Skip Bayless without the six zeroes on his yearly tax return. I mean, the guy is slumming it working for a small paper in Lansing and is still willing to trade in any dignity he might have for a modicum of cheap heat. He’s like a bad guy wrestler whooping it up at local flea market shows or VFW halls.
Well, that’s part of it, of course. The other issue with Couch, in my humble opinion, is that he pictures himself as some sort of intellectual. Except he doesn’t have NEARLY the brainpower to pull off the high-wire act he is attempting.
And nothing personifies his Shemp Wallenda act more than a Tweet he sent out on Friday. But first, a little backstory. As you probably know, three Michigan State football players have been under investigation for months regarding a potential sexual assault. At the end of February, Couch wrote a column where he insanely called that investigation “noise.”
Not only did he cheapen the potential sexual assault of a woman with the word “noise”, he proceeded to basically state that the team’s losing is what’s causing the rape investigation to be a big story. Don’t believe me? Well…..

@BShark Every time we drove the lane, they stripped us. That is what Villanova does best, along with trapping the ball, setting up isolations on offense, and brutalizing help defense. They have a big, mobile big ( Paschall ) that we have no one who could handle him, along with a senior who is their best defender ( Booth ) who can shoot 3s, along with a speedy point guard who shoots 40% from 3. Other than that, it's a cinch.

We always suck in the KC game. At least the first one. I think it was a good game- we got tested by a good defensive team that is an NCAA team from last year.

@BShark good pesky little team. I wanted to tell you how Chris Jans got that job at Shlockerland. They looked all over Wichita to try to find anyone that would go get drunk with Marsha and Big Mouth. Noone would, except a former coach who got fired for getting drunk, and making lewd comments towards young women. Jans fit perfectly. He's a good coach when he isn't snot slobbering drunk, and acting like a pedophile.

@mayjay Nothing worse in my book than a woman beater. They can slice it and dice it however they want... have a circle jerk class where a grown man has to be told not to beat a woman, and dress it up as though he's had some great breakthrough. Then he'll say the appropriate apologies, and Viola...he's starting again. And it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I keep thinking of that video of Joe Mixon knocking a girl out - I can't wrap around my head how anyone could hit a girl. It's disgusting.

BTW, it was interesting to me that Q pointed out in his after game interview that the team ran some "stuff" for him. he essentially credited the "stuff" we ran for him as a reason why his game took off last night. Vewwy interesting... was Q signaling something that is going on behind the scenes? I think so.

@BShark What is not being spoken in this discussion is the marketing of players at KU. There is a definite TV payoff for playing at KU where people know you, recognize you, and follow you. Now, simply playing here does not mean you'll automatically be drafted, but getting publicity never hurts. If Billy had been a double digit scorer on a Final four team, he might've gotten more looks.
@JayHawkFanToo Marquette ...UNC a couple times...UCLA a few years back...that last game with Misery in the 2nd half. i was trying to think of big runs, but nothing would top 27-0.The hallmark of a championship team is the ability to put together runs that simply blow teams away. We've done that to two teams in the last 3 games.The signs of an elite team are coming around. i know this might not be popular with some on here, but I think our team might play better w/o Doke against certain teams, especially Villanova.
@mayjay We looked like a real basketball team the 2nd half. A dominating, elite team with great passing and driving skills. Work of art. This wasn't Vick shooting 60% from 3 to bail us out- this was a sustained ass kicking to the tune of 25-0. This is what I've been waiting to see.

Because Bill went to the 4 out, this has left HEM chasing ghosts of the past in order to find something wrong with self that he can complain about. i'm sure a Jamari thread will be soon to follow.
